I don't think I've ever had an experience like that! Certainly never something so negative! I would not recommend to any owner to
host these people.
I continuously tried to contact them via phone and whatsapp, but I was never able to communicate with them to find out
of their needs.
Upon their arrival, they got lost, even though I had sent them the location of the pick up point (easily reachable), and I
had to coordinate with an unknown, willing supermarket clerk over the phone to try to get them to enter the correct location
on the GPS of the rented car. And I still waited for them for 2 and a half hours compared to the agreed time. But no problem,
I am always available to our guests, even more so if they are elderly people, to whom I have also voluntarily unloaded
all the numerous bags and suitcases from the car, so to speak.
The guests never communicated their needs regarding the beds, there was no communication from the booking onwards.
Upon their arrival, I discovered that they were 1 elderly couple with 2 other elderly ladies.
I report that I have prepared 2 double rooms, but after 2 days (out of a total of 4 days of stay) they tell me that they also demanded linen for the single beds in the third bedroom, or a refund for the linen for
2 people.
Extra expenses (resort tax, etc.) are detailed in the "house rules" in the VRBO listing, where the site allows me to
insert them. Furthermore, guests were reminded via WhatsApp several days before their arrival of the expenses to be paid on site, but they didn't receive the various messages because they had their phone always turned off (the only contact details provided to the website!).
In addition to the normal supply of products of a holiday home (toilet paper, soap, dish and washing machine detergents, etc.),
in the house there were spices, organic extra virgin oil produced by us, vinegar, coffee, sugar, water, wine, and other products made
available for the sole pleasure of making our guests feel at home. But, not happy, the guests who are the subject of this review,
they demanded more toilet paper (and now I also read about hair conditioner!!) not wanting to spend anything on normal daily shopping, evidently confusing
accommodation in a holiday home with accommodation in an all-inclusive hotel. What we guarantee is the freedom and total privacy and availability of a villa with swimming pool and adjacent orchards, the opposite of a 24-hour concierge service for which guests would have paid much more
of the 505.00 Euros (promotional rate) paid to me via Vrbo.
The showers, as can be seen from the photos in the advert, are spacious, luxurious, with extra size shower heads and glass cabin. I really don't know what these people are used to.
The kitchen is small and welcoming with all the necessary comforts and tools and more, but it does not have the spaces of a restaurant kitchen:
this too contrasts with the standards of a holiday home, albeit a luxurious one.
That said, I don't think I deserve my first review below 4/5 stars. A review written specifically to ruin mine very high average reviews and the immaculate image of top rated hosts. A petty spite. Shameful.
