We loved this suite. The location was ideal.The neighborhood was lovely; it was right in the centre of Siena. The host, Nicola communicated with us and told us how to access the apartment before our arrival. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and very friendly. The day we left the apartment he offered to drive us to the bus station. We were very grateful. We will miss Siena!

A very nice apartment conveniently located. Even though Nicola was out of town, he kept in close contact to see that evrything was okay. Booked a taxi for our departure making things very easy for us. Thank you Nicola.

Location was the only good thing

Apt was cute 2 bedroom with a great view. Despite being on the 4th floor with no lift. Location was close to shops and restaurants and a quick 7 minutes walk to the town square. Nicola was a great host, picked us up from the train, had snacks and wine for us on arrival and had great suggestions for what to see. A few negatives were the lack of air conditioning or even a fan. Outside noise was loud and not traffic noise but loud music from a nearby, what I can only assume was a banquet/ open air party space. You couldn't sleep with the windows open as the sound was so loud, but the minute you closed the windows it was sweltering. Both not great choices. We loved the city of Sienna and highly recommend seeing it in your travels. Cheers

A DELIGHTFUL HOME AWAY FROM HOME

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nicola’s apartment. Our host was most helpful in collecting us from the bus station and he generously provided us with a bottle of wine, a large platter of meats and cheeses and bread for our arrival. The apartment is just as described, spacious and more updated than other places we have stayed; the only disappointment was that the balcony is not big enough to sit outside. There is ample space in the kitchen to prepare food and plenty of utensils, pots and pans, etc. You can walk into the Campo, the centre of Siena, in 15 minutes. Our nearest supermarket was 5 minutes walking distance and we enjoyed a cappuccino every morning at a cafe the same distance away. The local market, only on Wednesdays, is well worth a visit for excellent local produce, meats and the famous porchetta sandwich and also clothes and leather goods and much more. Don’t forget to walk 2 or 3 minutes from the apartment, away from town to the delightful Viola’s cafe where we enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening. Viola’s idea of a “little snack” to accompany our wine was almost equivalent to dinner, for a fraction of the prices charged in the town center. I forget the name of her cafe but it is directly opposite the Osteria della Badia Lluova, also highly recommended. Thank you, Nicola, for a most enjoyable stay in your lovely apartment, and I highly recommend it.

Ambience, history, view, location, & a great host!

This little gem of a vacation rental in an old, quiet, residential building made hauling our bags up several flights of stairs absolutely worth the effort. The high, dark-beamed ceilings & French doors make for a light-filled open space, & the view is lovely. The apartment was comfortable, clean, & tastefully decorated. The location was perfect. A 15-20 minute walk took us to the center of Siena along a traffic-restricted road lined with interesting & enticing small businesses & tiny sidewalk cafes. We made a point of sampling gelato all over Siena & concluded that the little shop nearest to our apartment was the hands-down winner! Our host, Nicola, was highly responsive, fluent in English, & took the time to orient us to Siena & to share some of its history. He also considerately left us a nice treat - a meat & cheese platter, fresh bread, & a bottle of red wine, all of which we enjoyed & very much appreciated. A great host, a sweet little apartment, & a good location made for a very enjoyable stay. Thank you so much, Nicola!

Awesome apartment

This apartment is the picture of Siena! It just fits its surroundings. The view from the balcony is the perfect place to enjoy the wine and meat tray that Nicola left for us. He was the perfect host. I can’t say enough good things about this apartment and it’s location. I highly recommend this place . If I am lucky enough to one day return to Siena I hope it is available.

Best place to stay in old Siena

Beautifully redone quiet 4th floor apartment 5 minutes walk from Porto Roma in a traditional building, all the sites of Siena within easy walking distance. Nicolo is a wonderful, kind and helpful host who will meet you and walk you to the apt (if you have a car, it will need parked elsewhere after checking in, as the apartment is in the walled old city). He greeted us with bread, wine and an antipasti platter. (Note that you will have to walk up 4 flights of stairs with luggage).The apartment is beautifully decorated with a small balcony that offers a panoramic view of Tuscany looking south. There are two bedrooms—one with a double bed (in Italy, double beds are two singles sheeted together), a window that faces another apts window/wall, and wardrobe. The second bedroom has a single bed with a desk and a glorious view of the countryside. There are two bathrooms off the hallway, one with a shower and one with a small washing machine. The efficiency kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. We loved the apartment so much we wished we had stayed more than three nights. It felt very much like a home, and we were able to wash some clothes and catch our breath relaxing in the quietness while sipping coffee and looking out over the countryside. There is a full grocery store very close to the apartment. For two or three people, this is perfect, and it would be very romantic for a couple.

Very comfortable apartment. We had everything we needed for our stay in Siena.

Our stay in this apartment was great! We had all we needed, comfortable beds and a lovely view across the Tuscan country side. The apartment is well located close to markets, shoping and sightseeing. When we arrived there was a charcuterie tray and bottle of local wine. What a wonderful welcome. Nicola provided detailed information about the area and apartment. He was so helpful with all our questions and plans. When we were leaving he contacted a cab back to the train station for us. Thanks again Nicola for a wonderful stay

Beautiful spot to see Siena

My wife and I were able to spend a week at Nicola's apartment in central Siena, and it far surpassed our expectations. This is a charming apartment - a great location a short walk from Siena's expansive piazza, close to a grocery store and restaurants, and just a few yards from the bus stop that can take you to the city's free car parking spot, which is a tremendous cost savings if you're renting a car. The apartment has two nice sized bedrooms and a comfortable living area as well as a functional kitchen. While in the apartment, we enjoyed a beautiful view of some charming buildings and Siena's countryside as well. We planned to use the apartment as a hub for a week of day trips, but we were so charmed by Siena that we cut our day trips to two days. Nicola met us at the train station (and he endured our schedule change as one of our connections had a problem and we arrived an hour late). He gave us a great introduction to the apartment and Siena as well, and he included a lot of tips that helped us enjoy our visit to the maximum. We loved the apartment and Siena as well, and we hope to visit Siena again soon.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié cet appartement lumineux, doté d'une vue magnifique. Il est situé près du centre, à l'écart cependant du bruit et de la foule et propose tout ce que l'on peut attendre pour un séjour que l'on souhaiterait pouvoir prolonger: les équipements sont neufs et fonctionnels, la déco correspondait parfaitement à notre goût, nous avons apprécié le fond de cuisine. Merci à Nicola pour sa courtoisie et la qualité de son accueil (le plateau dégustation fut fort bienvenu!) Heureux ceux qui auront l'opportunité de profiter de cet endroit si agréable dans cette ville décidément splendide!

Casa dei sogni

La casa si trova in centro di Siena pochi passi dal Piazza del Campo. Propetario di casa sig.Nicola una persona molto gentile, ci accompagniava dal parcheggio fino al appartamento. Durante la passeggiata gia presentava la citta meraviglia. Quando siamo arrivati in appartamento lui ci offriva antipasto tipico toscano e una bottiglia vino famoso di Chianti. L'appartamento e molto bello, pulitissimo, accogliente e veramente silenzioso. Ideale per tutti. Grazie sig.Nicola per la sua ospitalita

Appartement très bien situé et tout à fait conforme aux photos avec vue sur les jardins et la campagne de Sienne ,proche de toutes les commodités ,bien situé et calme. nous avons été reçu très gentiment par Nicola ,il y avait un plateau de charcuterie ce qui est très agréable lorsque l 'on arrive . si vous avons à revenir à Sienne nous retournerons avec plaisir dans cet appartement.Françoise

Sono stata da Nicola Maggio nella Contrada del Nicchio. Una bella esperienza da sola. Un appartamento calmo con tutto che è importante per si far sentire bene. Vicino dal piazza, calma, facile a riscaldare, un letto molto comodo e non parliamo della piccola terazza con una vista superba. Ritorno per sicura per migliorare il italiano!. Great apartment, beautiful views, outstanding host

We stayed for four nights and loved everything about this apartment ! It is very well equipped and very comfortable. The views from the small balcony are incredible. It is less than 10 minute walk to the Campo, restaurants and groceries nearby. Nicolo was a wonderful host. He answered all of our emails promptly and made the entire process very easy. One of the best hosts we have encountered in our travels to Europe over the past ten years.

Delightful apartment

We stayed for 5 days in this wonderful apartment. Nicola kindly met us at the station and showed us how everything worked. We really appreciated his welcome and the wine and antipasti too! Location is a short walk from the campo and we really appreciated the peace and quiet and the beautiful view of hills and trees to the left from the balcony. There is a little supermarket just around the corner and a great restaurant where we ate twice called Da Gano. The spotless apartment is very well fitted with everything you could possibly need for a holiday, the bedroom was large and comfortable, the bathroom bright and warm, the kitchen well equipped. We walked for hours every day to see as much of Siena as we could and also went on the public bus for a day in San Gimignano which is beautiful. Looking at the picture of the sitting room as I write this review makes me wish I was there now! I hope we will be able to return one day.

Wonderful stay in Siena!

My husband and I stayed at this apartment with two friends of ours during the summer. We loved the apartment - it was a great size and the location was very close to everything Siena has to offer! We were staying there during the Palio in July and Nicola did a wonderful job explaining everything about the historic event. We were located in the Nicchio neighborhood (contrada) and were able to participate in several events throughout the week. We would definitely stay here again!

Best place ever in Italy

Our apartment in Siena was the best out of 9 places we had so far in Italy. Fully equiped, lovingly furnished, a 10 minutes walk away from the Campo, quiet as all rooms are to the backside of the house, and a (very) small balkony with a wonderful Tuscany view. We stayed there for a week and didn't like to go home.

Appartement très agréable et bien situé

L'appartement, impeccable, bien équipé et très calme, est plus lumineux et plus grand que ne le suggèrent les photos sur le site. Situé au 3ème et dernier étage (sans ascenseur), il bénéficie d'une jolie vue du séjour sur les jardins et la campagne siennoise. Nous étions venus en voiture de Pise. Utile pour visiter la région, mais sans intérêt pour Sienne, nous l'avons garée dans un parking gratuit que Nicola nous a conseillé, facilement accessible par bus (arrêt au pied de l'immeuble, 5 mn de trajet). Ceci s'est révélé très commode et nous a parfaitement convenu. La visite de Sienne et les sorties au restaurant peuvent se faire sans problème à pied (la piazza del Campo est très proche ; l'appartement est situé à l'intérieur des remparts). Les commerces alimentaires sont tous à moins de 200 mètres de l'appartement. Un grand merci à Nicola pour sa grande disponibilité lors de la préparation de notre voyage et pour son accueil très chaleureux.

Enchantées !

11 jours très agréables dans cet appartement très confortable et calme, avec une vue sur un des merveilleux petits vallons de Sienne et la campagne toscane au loin, décoration personnelle et très jolie, très fonctionnel (équipements et vaisselle modernes), literie et linge impeccables, et toutes les attentions de Nicola : gentillesse, disponibilité, et fournissant toute le fond de cuisine (en plus d'un plateau de charcuteries,fromages et vin!). Tout est fait pour qu'on se sente bien. Quartier vivant, à 5 -10 mn du centre. Nous recommandons vivement !

Calme et confort près du Campo

Accueil chaleureux du propriétaire(plateau de viande froide, fromage, pain et vin). Appartement lumineux, propre et confortable. Situé à quelques minutes du Campo mais en retrait de la foule. Boulangerie, traiteur et supermarché à proximité. Tout pour nous faire apprécier la vie quotidienne à Sienne.

Die Wohnung hat genau zu der Beschreibung gepasst. Sie lag sehr zentral und doch ruhig, man kann alles super zu Fuß oder mit dem Bus erreichen.

Lovely apartment within in the walls of Siena

We would highly recommend this lovely apartment; it is on the top floor and overlooks the Tuscan Hills from the small balcony. It is very well furnished, comfortable, clean and spacious. We were there during The Palio, which is always a great atmosphere, also if you like Classical Music there are student concerts which take place at Accademia Musicale Chigiana near the Campo in August and professional concerts at the Theatre Rozzi, worth going to if only to see the beautiful interior. The open air cinema in the Fortress is an experience. Numerous restaurants, better value away from the Campo, several good places at the Market House area and by St Catherines Convent overlooking the city. Regular buses to Florence, San Gimignano and Arezzo. I would recommend this apartment to friends and family.

Parfait de A à Z

Cet appartement a tout pour plaire : bien situé (il est à 5/10 mn à pied de la Piazza del Campo), extrêmement calme (du moins à la période où nous y étions, c'est à dire à Pâques), d'une propreté irréprochable. La literie est parfaite, la vue du petit balcon magnifique, la cuisine et ses équipements sont simples mais suffisants pour 2 adultes et 2 ados, la salle de bain est petite mais très agréable. Et il y a 2 WC, ce qui est un "luxe" appréciable quand on est plusieurs… Enfin, accueil très sympathique du propriétaire qui n'est pas avare d'explications et que l'on peut appeler si besoin pendant le séjour. Bref, je recommande chaleureusement à ceux qui souhaitent visiter la région et je pense même que Sienne est un point de chute plus agréable que Florence.
