The GOOD: Pointe West Resort itself was a great place overall. We loved the amenities and the quiet location. Beach area was relaxing and not overly populated. The food at the resort grill was delicious and service was great. The BAD: Our unit, however, lacked a LOT. When we arrived the musty smell was overwhelming and unpleasant. The unit had not been stayed in for a long time based on the dust, smell, dirty stove, dirty windows, and overall condition of the furniture/decor. Kitchen items were sparse at best. No broom, barely any pots and pans, no extra trash bags, not enough silverware for the number of people the condo will accommodate. We like to cook meals while on vacation, so this was a bit problematic given the lack of kitchen gear. The UGLY: The unit overall was not clean. Spiderwebs on tops of lampshades, crumbs on the furniture, dust on every piece of furniture, dirty, outdated stove top, and the list goes on. The VERY GOOD: Vacasa has EXCEPTIONAL customer service. We received a text the day we arrived asking about the cleanliness of the unit. I would venture to guess that this unit would NOT meet the standards of Vacasa. They offered to have housekeeping come out to clean and remedy the horrible musty smell. We opted to have our cleaning fee refunded, and had housekeeping just come to fix the smell. We had already taken care of the most basic cleaning ourselves. We received the refund for the cleaning fee in one business day ... impressive. Had Vacasa not been so wonderful to work with, our experience would have been MUCH worse. Had we also known this particular unit wasn't close to anything in the resort we would have chosen a different one. It was a short drive away, so it wasn't a huge deal, but next time we'll select more carefully.
