Beautiful area but remote location
We stayed at this property for two weeks in September 2023. We stayed in the 3 bdr appt with friends of ours. The main draw for us was the central location in Tuscany where we could base our stay. The area is beautiful but the apartment and location have some drawbacks.
Pros: The town of Iano is quaint, quiet and with very nice people. The restaurant and local small market were great with very friendly people. The surrounding area is picturesque and beautiful.
Cons: The main cons for us was how remote the property was. Getting to and from the unit involved driving through several last miles of very windy and narrow mountain roads. This was a challenge at night when returning home. The unit was also smaller than the pictures or descriptions. While it had the three bedrooms, the kitchen was small and the sitting/living room was upstairs and had a low ceiling which made it a challenge to use. A couple of items that really surprised us and we’re frustrating we’re the air conditioning and the clothes washer. We were told the unit had air conditioning but it was only a single unit in the kitchen area that did not cool the bedrooms. We were also very surprised to find out that we had to pay for the use of the air conditioner separately from our booking. That was not disclosed on the listing. We were also told that there was laundry in the grounds. There was a single washer for all of the units and no dryer. We were really surprised to find out that we had to pay for laundry.
