Oceanview Condo with Balconies, Pool & Daily Service

Playa Caribe 4 is an art-filled second-floor condo set on the northern wing of Half Moon Bay, designed for couples, families, or friends traveling together. With two bedrooms, two baths, and space for six, it combines authentic Mexican décor with modern conveniences.

The Master Bedroom features a king bed with soft linens, ensuite bath with tub/shower, dual sinks, and balconies with dual views of ocean and jungle. The second bedroom includes two double beds with romantic mosquito canopies, private bath, and its own balcony overlooking the greenery. Both bedrooms and the living/dining areas are cooled by central AC.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric stove, fridge, small appliances, and a breakfast bar that looks across the bay. The open-concept layout connects to a terrace where guests can dine, relax, or watch marine life in the water below. Unique features include stained-glass windows, a Mexican mask collection, and original paintings.

Guests enjoy daily housekeeping, beach towels, purified water, parking, and concierge support. Shared amenities include a pool, BBQ grill, loungers, and an outdoor shower. The property also carries the CEA Ecological seal for sustainable practices.

Half Moon Bay’s reef and calm waters are excellent for snorkeling—water shoes recommended. Restaurants, shops, and Yal Ku Lagoon are within walking distance. A rental car or private driver is best for exploring further afield to Mayan ruins, cenotes, and nearby towns.

KINDLY NOTE: South winds may bring Sargasso Seaweed to some beaches throughout the Caribbean, including the Rivera Maya. While the situation is hard to predict for each specific week and area, we would like you to be aware as there is the potential to impact the beach and water entry.

The Riviera Maya is full of natural beauty, places to explore and opportunities for outdoor activities. We have a great list of activities and adventures completely unaffected by the arrival of sargasso that we would love to share with you. There is so much to see and do in this special place, we know that you will have an amazing and memorable vacation!

Walton Vacation

The property was great. We just had to deal with the smell from the sea grass so we spent most of our time at the lagoon or north of the property on the beach. People and all food was awesome. Thanks for a great place to stay.

Hola, We are happy you loved our condo. The sargassum is natural and comes and goes and luckily it is not there all the time. Although we have daily removal and spray it 3 x/day with a chemical to eliminate odor, sometimes you can still tell you are at the beach. Thank you for the comments.

Perfection

Spacious, comfortable, private and great view of the sea. Close proximity to wonderful restaurant as well as grocery stores so that we could easily cook in the fully functional kitchen. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The only drawback was that we had to make extra arrangements with transportation services because they didn’t know where it was.

Fantastic family stay but sargasso covered beach and water, NO clean up.

We loved Playa Caribe, condo was very clean and spacious for our family of 5. The location was perfect with lots of nearby attractions and dining. Fly into Tulum as it’s smaller, closer and much easier than Cancun. The ONLY negative for our stay was the amount of sargasso (seaweed). It made both the beach and ocean completely inaccessible so we had to drive to get to a beach club which kept up with the seaweed. Guests should know there is NO clean up here and it is impossible to enter the ocean or access the beach due to lack of clean up.

In the past few weeks the beaches have been affected by sargasso. We do advise our guests in advance and make suggestions for fun things to do. Great place for quick getaway

Nice condo. Friendly people. If you want a more full view of the ocean, opt for unit 5 or the one above it (8?). But no complaints from us about number 4 at all.

Thank you for booking our beautiful condo; we were thrilled to have you there. Each of the condos are independently owned and decorated, and each has it’s own particular benefits/ advantages—view, solitude, stairs, privacy, noise, size, availability. FYI, I am the only one in the condo building that provides all my documents “A Perfect Week…” and the “Arrival” information to make your transition easier. FYI #2, the center units are beautiful, but they are also 30% smaller than the end units but the price is the same.

Awesome stay in Akumal

We were extremely happy with the condo. It was in a great location and decorated beautifully in authentic Mexico style. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioner worked well and the covered balcony overlooking the ocean was spectacular. There were several restaurants within walking distance as well as a small market across the street for drinks and snacks. The welcome basket was a nice surprise. You definitely need water shoes before entering the ocean.

Fabulous condo on Half Moon Bay in Akumal, Mexico

This gorgeous condo, situated right over the sand, is a place to make memories and to renew family ties, and to rekindle relationships. The tranquil colors and tasteful design, not to mention all the artifacts and mask collection make this a fantastic stay. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, too. The owner goes out of her way to give tips for transportation, places to dine, and just general information of the area. It was very helpful. The location is perfect, either for swimming right out the front, and for a quick walk to a market and great restaurant and shops. It is truly a very special place to stay and I highly recommend #4 Playa Caribe.

Wonderful Experience

This was our first vacation to Akumal and Playa Caribe #4 was ideal. Shari's guide to the property and many nearby excursions was extremely helpful. The condo was clean, well kept, and spacious. Additionally, Shari has a wonderful collection of Mayan art and has several of her own excellent paintings displayed as well. The building manager and his staff take excellent care of the property and each individual unit. If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay as well as close proximity to many of the unique experiences that the Mayan Riviera has to offer, Playa Caribe #4 is it.

Great condo in a beautiful, quiet spot

This is a beautifully decorated condo that was quiet comfortable for our family of five. This was our first time in Akumal and we will definitely return. Akumal is well located between Playa del Carmen and Tulum with lots to do . I had thought of staying in Tulum and am glad we did not. We traveled through Tulum going to Sian Ka'an for a day-long fishing trip and the traffic was terrible there. Akumal is quieter, walkable, safe and we enjoyed every restaurant we tried especially the one just steps from the condo. The staff was friendly and helpful and the condo was spotless! Thanks!

Get away from the tourists!

We were looking for a relaxing tropical vacation, but wanted one on our own terms and not at a theme-park-like resort. Playa Caribe, in the middle of Half Moon Bay in Akumal delivered just that. The condo is beautiful and right on the sand. We had a great time exploring and snorkeling on our own and sampling the restaurants in Akumal Village and the Pueblo. We’d recommend a private tour of the Santa Cruz Cenote, the only privately-owned Cenote in the region. JP took my family and I through this amazing experience in a private setting—not a cattle call like the big resorts put people through. The pre-stay communication and the great service by Manager Agustin was fantastic. We will definitely be returning some day.

We only asked once during our stay but it was spotless. The air conditioning and water pressure were spot on. I have nothing but great things to say, and would recommend this condo.

The beds are comfy, and the unit decorated with a Mexican Zen flair. The property is well kept and has security at night. The area has some nice dining options that you can walk too. I could sit on the porch for hours just taking in the gentle waves while looking for marine life. We will defiantly be booking #4 again in the near future.

The kitchen is well stocked with anything you may need to cook meals in the condo. The complimentary bowl of fruit, popcorn and other snacks was a very nice touch also. Very close to many beautiful cenotes in the area also. We would highly recommend Playa Caribe, Condo #4, for your visit to Akumal.

Home away from Home

A piece of heaven in wonderful Akumal! This condo was everything we hoped it would be, and more. The photos and description are quite accurate. My husband and I spent a wonderful week here and have no regrets whatsoever. The condo was spotlessly clean, attended by maid service each day, and had everything we needed in the kitchen and condo to make ourselves very comfortable. Now… About that mind blowing view of the ocean! We could not get enough of it! When we were not watching the waves on the balcony, we were down luxuriating on the beach. After beach time we could be found one of the several nearby wonderful restaurants, snorkelling, or riding our bikes through this quaint and lovely neighbourhood. You will never regret spending time here.

Great Condo Great Location

We are hesitant to write this review because we are scared the secret of Playa Caribe #4 will get out. We have been to Akumal several times in the past 10 years and watched it change from a sleepy beach town to Akumal Bay becoming a turtle tourist trap. We were so relieved to find that Half Moon Bay has retained the charm we came to love so dearly about Akumal. The north end of Akumal is just as quiet and lovely as we remember. Shari's condo is so comfortable and beautifully appointed- from the great kitchen equipment to water you can drink out of the tap!! Her recommendations for a magical stay are spot on- Cenote Santa Cruz was our favorite cenote experience ever and the snorkeling in front of the condo is spectacular. Thank you. We'll be back!

Family of Four with teens

We spent an amazing 10 relaxing days in August. The condo is beautiful as described and immaculately clean. Cooking in the kitchen was a pleasure due to the sharp knives, fun dishes and almost any kitchen gadget you would need. (this is from a foodie) The maid came in daily and did the dishes, what a plus! Sharon made our first VRBO rental comfortable and easy, helping us with directions, activity ideas, and other questions. There is great snorkeling right off the beach. One of us loved the pool and we usually had it to ourselves. The only down side was entering the water on the beach is tricky due to the large chunks of choral (soft sand on the beach but not upon entering the water). Definitely bring your water shoes. Overall this place was excellent!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a pleasant stay in #4 Playa Caribe. The staff is great and the unit very comfortable and nicely decorated. The unit could use a few more dishes, some glasses and cups were chipped. Needs another cutting board. There were lots of containers with lids. They left a few fruits and things which was a nice touch. Beautiful views. The beach however is very short so not a lot of room with others. Only one palapa also. Nice pool too. All in all, good place but if you like to be on the beach, not the greatest pick.
