Great place to stay with multiple dogs. Owners were responsive when I called and provided a cozy place to stay to get away from the city for a few days.

Great location

Homeaway Ranch was the ideal location for us. Very close to downtown Boerne and close to our daughter in Sisterdale. Vicky and Micky are gracious, accommodating hosts.

Far more unsettled than anticipated. Walk into cabin had numerous rocks and tree branches on uphill path. Cabin had lovely deck. Inside seems to be involved in facelift. Falling wall paper in living area, unfinished tile in bath. Floor molding loose.Well equipped with coffee, ice maker, huge TV, recliners. AC preset; not adjustable.

Anniversary getaway

We where looking for nice peaceful place to stay for our 24 year anniversary. At first it was a little hard because we are a family of 7 so we alway stay in house with 5 + bd. This has been an experience for us. The property and the view was so beautiful. It was very relaxing and very peaceful. I mostly loved it when we would sit on the porch earlier morning the sound of the birds and to see the goats, chickens, and donkeys walking around Thank you Mickey and Vicky for the up-grade, also for making us feel like this was our home. If you are looking for a great place to get away a relaxing and peaceful home. I highly recommend this place.

Wonderful birthday stay for my wife.

My wife told me she wanted to go to a "cabin in the woods" for her birthday this year. Living in San Antonio and only having the weekend to travel, I wasn't sure where to find a nearby "cabin in the woods." But, but the grace of God, I did a Google search and found HomeAwayRanch. It was the perfect location for Ivonne's birthday cabin-in-the-woods. We stayed in the Butterflies cabin and Ivonne loved it. It was exactly what she wanted for her birthday. Micky and Vicky are fantastic hosts and they don't jack up the prices like some other VRBO hosts do. Overall, it was a wonderful birthday weekend for my wife and we really appreciate such helpful and caring hosts. Highly recommended!

A must for building relationships

My then fiancee ditched me halfway, so I dumped her. Even if your relationship does work or not, the owner here is a relationship counselor and the lessons from her really helped open my eyes on how relationships should work. It's not the most accurate to the app, but definitely if you're looking to strengthen a relationship with your significant other.

Wonderful hill country getaway.

I stayed in the Treehouse suite for a week in early September. Hosts Vicky and Micky were consummate hosts. The ranch was spacious with delightful critters and Micky was wonderful, taking me on a trail ride and gave me two horse riding lessons, as well as a tour of the bird sanctuary and farm animal encounter. The suite was just big enough for me and my dachshund (who had the time of her life exploring the grounds). It had everything I needed for a rustic country vacation. I only had one issue with the lodging which was an inoperable ceiling fan. Micky came up right away to check; I told them not to worry about fixing it while I was there and I made due with two fans from the nearby Walmart. Overall, great stay and if I ever visit hill country again I will return! Would love to stay here again during a cooler part of the year.

Owners helped save our trip

A quiet get-away deep in the Texas Hill Country. Owners, Mickey and Vickey, are incredibly kind and were attentive to our needs during our weekend stay in the Bavarian Cottage. Due to a little mishap in reserving the Tree House Honeymoon Suite (the suite was accidentally double booked), the owner offered my wife and I an upgrade to the Bavarian Cottage. We gave a lower rating on the "Accuracy of Online Listing" factor only because we can't properly attest to the property we originally books. Nevertheless, we couldn't be more happier. The Bavarian Cottage was decorated in lots of sparkly chandeliers, and equipped with a full kitchen and massive tv. Large windows looked out to mature liveoaks and ashe juniper trees. Animals (i.e. goats, ponies, donkeys) roam the property and are as gentle as can be. The ranch is a short 15 minute drive to Boerne which is convenient for shopping and dining. Mickey led a guided horse ride for my wife and I around the property. It was the perfect outdoor activity to complete our weekend trip!

We enjoyed two nights in the butterflies cabin (not the original room we booked) which was tidy and a great spot for coffee on the screened porch in the mornings. We did not have time to see the animals or other interesting things about the property but it is very unique.

Loved Our Stay

We were extremely blessed to have found this property. The owners are phenomenal. It was a perfect getaway! Vicky & Micky are the BEST! They went above and beyond to ensure my immunocompromised husband was safe during our stay! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality! We loved our cabin, the animals and our entire experience. We will rent again in the future and will refer others to here.

Moore family stay at tree house

This is an awesome and peaceful property. We loved all of the animals that would parade by our cabin in the morning and evening times. Mickey was awesome and always very helpful. If you're looking for a peaceful and tranquil setting this is your place. Thank you again for an awesome experience.

What a fantastic place for kids!!

Kids and us had a wonderful time. Vicky and Micky provide wonderful accomodations and take such good care of some amazing friendly horses, donkeys, parakeets, macaws and rare goats. Miguel knows everything about the animals and takes such good care of the kids in the horses. The horse ride and the sanctuary visit were revelations for how much this couple does to keep this place going and take such good care of the animals and make the whole experience wonderful! It was ana amazing visit In a really wonderful ranch!! The surrounding area is also amazing with several springs and hikes. Definitely worth going back to.

Amazing place and service!

Micky and Vicky are absolutely the best hosts! They were so patient and thoughtful and really made us feel at home and welcomed! We will most definitely be back! And if you have a chance to try their food... I highly recommend it!

Best meal at a B&B ever!

Vicky and Mickey (owners) are chefs and truly enjoy cooking for their guests. We asked for dinner and were served in the evening, outdoors, with a white tablecloth and true, five course, chef created, custom meal. The meal, setting, and attention to detail by the chefs was better than any fine restaurant. If you go, have them create a meal for you. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Beautiful ranch, great people and animals

We had such a nice time during our stay here! Miguel and Vickie, and all the staff, do their absolute best to keep guests happy--they really went out of their way to accommodate our special requests. I hadn't ridden a horse in about 20 years, and the horse I rode at the ranch was, hands down (no pun intended), the best I've EVER ridden. She just needs to know what you want, and she does it. My wife and daughter had the same experience, and Miguel really put our minds at ease that our little girl, age 7, would be happy and safe. There are a number of goats, donkeys, and even a pot-bellied pig at the ranch. One of the donkeys, a fat little brown one, was the sweetest thing ever--she just put her head against my shoulder and wanted to be rubbed and stroked on her neck. Pancho and Petunia also really liked being touched. Even the pot-bellied pig rolled over on her back for a belly rub. Finally--the two ranch dogs, Hansel and Gretel, were so much fun that we could barely stand leaving them behind. They ran around and had a great time, but on the morning we left Gretel was waiting for us on our front porch as we packed up our things and got ready to head out.

Quiet and peaceful retreat with wonderful hosts!

Vicky and Micky are just the best. Great hosts. Great cooks. Very attentive to the needs of their guests. Wes, the maintenance man, escorted us to our cabin and answered any questions we had. We have found our hill country get away!! 5 stars!

Enjoyable

We liked the house we were staying, the area, the location ( very close to the town). The customer service was top-notch (there were a few issues, mostly due to misunderstanding, but Vicky and Micky promptly resolved them). All in all, very good hospitable people. The kids loved their interaction with the animals and horse-riding).

Lovely area and cute cabin

The property is really nice and would be a great place to bring kids. The cabin was cute and comfy. The water has a strong sulphur odor, but that was disclosed up front so no surprise. The property mangers were easy to contact and very helpful. We enjoyed watching the animals early in the morning from the little porch.

fun family getaway with my kids and dog

With over 15 years of preparation developing our gorgeous ranch, creating an environment to care over wild-life and rescuing beautiful, and at times endangered, defenseless animals all over the country. We have experiences set up for our guests to learn and enjoy.
We have horseback riding, guided trail rides, friendly farm animal safari or exotic animal adventures, night hikes and delicious cooking options for any special occasion.

In short, we want to help generate happy times for all our guests. Come celebrate special occasions, anniversaries, birthdays, weddings or precious family vacations.

We live on the property (35 acres) and are available 24/7 to personally cater to you and ensure everything on our property is the place. We do have staff that's very dedicated and ready to assist. Whatever you need - just give Micky and Vicky a call :-)
