This place would be great place to stay for certain groups/families at certain times of year, but it wasn't great for us.
The good:
Location is great - close enough to walk to King St. and the market
Parking - if you've never been to Charleston, you don't understand how valuable parking can be. Having off street parking is great. The two spots are very small, but can fit one large SUV or two compact cars.
Quaint - the house is historic and has lots of character
Beds were comfortable, and the place was clean.
The bad:
- We went on one of the coldest weeks Charleston has had, and this place can't keep up with the cold. The main floor was frigid - around 55 degrees, while the outside temps were around 30. Standing next to a window was like standing in front of a freezer with the door open. The middle level where there are 2BRs and 1BA were warm enough as the thermostat was on that level.
- The main level has a living room, kitchenette 1BR and 1.5BA. The living room is large enough for about 5 adults, total. And it's cramped with that many people. Not a great social gathering place.
- The kitchen needs some work. Exposed wiring capped only with wire nuts and a single plug located adjacent the sink. Enough room to plug in the coffee maker or toaster, but not both.
Overall, I'd stay here only if I knew the weather was going to be moderate (60-85 degrees), and with no more than 4 people. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.
