We had an incredible stay at Casa Kilamanjaro! The highlight was definitely the infinity pool as the view was absolutely stunning. While relaxing, we were treated to amazing wildlife sightings, including monkeys swinging through the trees, a wide variety of birds, iguanas, and even a capybara which made the experience feel truly special and immersive.The home itself was very clean and well-maintained. The hosts were thoughtful and well-prepared, providing plenty of towels for both the pool and showers, which made everything convenient and comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking. It really felt like a home away from home.It was very hot during our stay in March and the pool and fans helped cool us off at night. The property management team was top notch. They assisted with booking the very best tours and communicated in advance regarding road closures. Overall, this was a fantastic stay, and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature.

Our stay at Casa Kilimanjaro was magical. The property was thoughtfully furnished and had everything we needed. It was clean and had great spaces - both indoors and out - for relaxing and eating together. Vanessa was THE BEST concierge and was only ever a phone call away. The crown jewel of this place is the gorgeous pool and it's stunning view. I spent every free moment in the pool, and it felt like I was in a dream. The poolside iguanas were very cool, and none of us will ever forget seeing the red macaws fly across the horizon as the afternoon waned. It is hard to be critical of this property, but if you absolutely forced me to, I would say that some of the interiors could use some touching up, and we could have used a couple of more flashlights during a power outage - but overall, for a house that accommodates so many people and visitors, I really have no complaints. I would absolutely stay here again. Pro-tip - bring a clothesline for wet bathing suits and some strong bug spray (not the house's fault).

The home was very clean upon arrival. That said, there were several holes in the window/door screens, which allowed bugs, spiders, and beetles to enter and accumulate over the course of our 4-day stay. The pool deck also had some lizard droppings when we arrived, which could benefit from a more thorough pre-arrival cleaning.The property is located in a quieter, more remote area, about a 10-minute drive from the main part of Manuel Antonio and sits at the top of a very steep hill (roughly the length of a football field). Having a car is definitely necessary to access the home comfortably.The listing does note that there is no air conditioning, but we still found the home to be very hot. Even with multiple fans running in the bedrooms and main living area, we were not able to cool down. Keeping the doors open for airflow wasn’t always feasible due to the lack of screens and the presence of insects and wildlife around the property. There were also a couple of power outages during our stay, though these appeared to be area-related rather than specific to the home.On a positive note, the surrounding wildlife was a highlight! Seeing iguanas, monkeys, toucans, and macaws right near the house was a really special experience. The pool was also a great feature and helped make the heat more manageable.The property managers were very each to communicate with and accommodating when we had to leave our bags for a couple of hours.

Amazing!

Everything about the property was perfect. There is no AC, but we didn't even miss it! Lots of area fans to keep the air circulating and the evenings and mornings were amazing!Iguanas everywhere the first couple of days and THEN THE LAST DAY THE MONKEYS CAME!!!! They were everywhere! So much fun and so entertaining! The location was great...amazing views and easy access to everything we needed was near by! Would definitely stay here again!!!

When I booked this house I was aware that it had no AC but the description about the cross breeze and the ability to keep windows open made it sound like it would be just fine. Unfortunately the house-while it is beautiful-was just too hot to enjoy. The pool on our first night felt like a hot tub, the house barely cooled enough to sleep that night. In the morning at 5:30am looking out on the valley was lovely but then the sun rose at 5:45 and was directly shining on the back of the house making it too hot to hang out there. My niece even had an episode of heat exhaustion and it was hard to get her cooled down. We learned to move to the opposite side of the house in the morning so we could enjoy being outside in the mornings. We also learned we had to leave the house during the heat of the day, late morning/afternoon bc it was too hot to be there. Later afternoon after 3pm we could finally hang out in the back of the house and in the pool and be comfortable. The house has a gorgeous view, the pool was comfortable once it was topped off with cooler water. Blinds for the main living area would be so helpful to block the sun and screens on the sliding doors would also be very helpful. We ended up just leaving the doors open at night and the bugs were ok, but would have felt better with screens. AC units in the bedrooms would have made all the difference. I felt like the house needs to have a more honest description of the heat-especially during the dry months.

Spectacular property.

Everything was great. Love the property. We managed to drive up to it with a 2 Wheel Dr. vehicle but understand the recommendation for four-wheel-drive. Would definitely recommend staying here! Loved it.

The place was nice for a large family with 4 beds each with a private bathroom, views were amazing and we got to see lots of wildlife. Large terrace and the pool was great for entertaining a large family with various age ranges. The host was very accommodating to our check out time, thanks! The screens for the main doors were not working well but we were fine as it was not high season for mosquitos.

The house was amazing love the location must have a vehicle 4x4 the views incredible we had a few visitors including squirrel monkeys, spiders, iguanas ( we name one of them “Pancho “ our concierge was amazing helpful my only opinion will be to get a better and more modern barbecue will visit again

Amazing trip - Beautiful, serene, quiet, picturesque

Our stay at Casa Kilimanjaro was amazing. The property was beautiful, clean, had ample space for the five of us and Vanessa was so amazing. She went above and beyond in helping us throughout the week (booking tours, ordering takeout & grocery deliveries, restaurant recommendations, etc.)The pool was DIVINE, so lovely to spend the sunny days lounging on the deck and reading in the pool. House was clean, no issues at all. Loved seeing the lizards, birds and monkeys! Perfect location - only 10-15 minutes from everything!

A lovely large house with a million dollar view.

Fantastic location a short taxi ride to Manuel Antonio park and several nice beaches. We saw many birds and animals on the property including monkeys, toucans, anteaters, guatusas, iguanas. House was perfect for our group of 6. Could hold more comfortably. Great communication throughout. We all loved it!!

Perfect Jungle Getaway

We loved our stay here. It was an easy drive to get to the beaches and restaurants. Very spacious and family friendly. Kitchen had everything we needed. We cooked some nights and had Chef Michael and Melissa make us some dinners when getting back late to the Casa. Very easy to coordinate and the food was delicious! We were able to do our own laundry which we loved. The animals come to you at Casa Kilimanjaro. We saw more wildlife outside the house than when we visited the Manuel Antonio National Park. Agoutis, iguanas, parrots, monkeys, macaws, hawks, frogs… Perfect location all around! The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends

Perfect Paradise

We had a wonderful stay with all kinds of birds and as well as white face monkeys visiting us. Vanessa was a superstar and fulfilled our every desire and need, from start to finish, couldn't have asked for anyone better. She made our stay most enjoyable. We would definitely return in a heartbeat. The 100' climb up the driveway was a challenge but we appreciated the cardio workout. Thank you so much. we had a blast. Henry and Miguel our drivers, were top notch, always on time and full of information for us.

Great spot!

The house was clean and had everything that one would need. The pool was a must as it was hot when we visited CR. The store was a short walk away from the home. The. Us line is not much further down. Felt safe. Many iguanas visited us daily. Many monkey sightings in the mornings. The house does not have AC. We really had to adjust to that but we had a great time!

Être au coeur de la faune

La maison Kilimanjaro est superbement située, mais il faut avoir un bon véhicule pour s'y rendre. Les lieux étaient très propres, mais nous avons un peu souffert du manque de climatisation vue le temps très chaud. La piscine et la vue sont géniales, mais surtout, nous avons vu une tonne d'oiseaux, d'insectes de reptiles et de singes autour. C'est une immersion totale dans la nature en ayant une vue à 365 degrés autour.

We enjoyed the pool and the view was amazing. The concierge was very helpful and the the caretaker was great. There was a bit of a bug problem, some windows were missing glass and screens. It was hot so the windows needed to be opened but it just let more bugs in. We stayed in the pool most of the time.
