Our family frequents the Davis/Thomas/Canaan Valley area quite often, but this was our first stay at Woodland Pond. The house was beautiful and accommodated our large group of eleven easily. It was wonderful to sit on the back porch and watch our children fishing and canoeing to their leisure. It truly made for a relaxing weekend.
However, upon arrival we noticed that the main and upper levels of the house were very hot (78 - 80 degrees), and did not seem to be cooling down despite the AC being on. We noticed that the unit was set to 45 degrees! Naturally, the AC unit was completely frozen and not functioning properly. We contacted the rental service immediately. They sent a technician within minutes. However, there was nothing he could do to remedy the situation. We were advised to shut off the AC to thaw naturally and then hopefully the unit would work. It never did. Luckily, the outside temperatures were not too unbearable and we were able to open the windows and screened doors to allow the mountain air to filter throughout the house.
Also, we were not given any chemicals to add to the hot tub/spa., nor were there any in the tub upon arrival. After a long weekend of constant use, the water was quite cloudy and even turning green.
