Surrounded by more than 5 wooded acres, Blackwater Glade has been recently renovated in the owner’s favorite “Sundance style”. A large wrap around deck plus porches front and back provide the ideal setting for nature lovers of every age. The fantastic location offers easy opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing and more. It is just a short drive to beautiful Canaan Valley State Park, Blackwater Falls and the slopes at Timberline Mountain. Fully equipped kitchen, gas fireplace, WIFI, outdoor hot tub…just a few of the many reasons Blackwater Glade is the perfect space for your next vacation.

The gas fireplace was really nice as was the location and cleanliness of the hot tub and the fire pit.

Beautiful and relaxing oasis in the woods

Beautiful and secluded 4 bedroom home we loved that 2 bedrooms with their own baths were off each side of the main living room. The wrap around deck always gave us a sunny location to read, watch the deer and barbecue. The grill was simple to use as it was hooked to the gas line and the house was decorated tastefully and beds were comfy. The hot tub is getting a little care-worn but was clean and functional and we enjoyed both that and the fire pit in the evenings. Close to sightseeing and shops.

Property was beautiful and house had a great layout. Very close to the ski resort. Cleanliness was an issue. Very dusty with dead flies in all rooms. Rugs need to be cleaned.

The cabin was very clean and well equipped. The hot tub was in great shape, and we used it every night. There was a good distance between the neighboring cabin, so it felt very private. Overall, we would definitely rent this property again.

It was just a short, scenic drive to Timberline. The rental process was easy and the cabin was fully stocked with all the kitchen supplies we could possibly need, plus other unexpected extras like a comfy bed for our dog. It was paradise.

The jacuzzi out side on the deck was a hit! Very relaxing atmosphere. We have been coming to West Virginia for many years and had many rentals and we enjoyed this one the most! We had a couple minor issues and best of Canaan were on it immediately, will definitely rent from them again.

The beds were very comfortable and we loved that each room had its own bathroom. The hot tub was an added bonus after hitting the slopes all day. You will 100% need 4x4 in the winter to get to the house. We are already booked to stay in 2022 !!!!!

We have had some not so great rental experiences with other companies but Best of Canaan is truly the best. We have stayed in multiple houses and each one has been wonderful. The staff has always been attentive to any issue that comes up and makes check in and out easy and stress free. I can’t recommend them enough!

Beautiful!

The property is stunningly beautiful in its surroundings. The inside is very well laid out and easy to relax in. Great high-end appliances and four well appointed bathrooms add to the comfort of this perfect property. Plenty of dishes and cookware. An unforeseeable plumbing issue occurred but the management company (Donna) were so quick to respond and the plumbers were sent to take care of it in a timely manner. Cannot overstate the friendliness and professionalism of all. Looking forward to coming again! Thank you.

We did experience a strong dead animal odor in one bedroom making it unusable. When contacting Best of Canaan they send someone to check it out but couldn’t find the source. They said they’d follow up but they did not and the smell got much worse. This was very disappointing as we wanted to use all of the bedrooms. We followed up with Best of Canaan about this but no response. ANice house but a few maintenance issues.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Place was wonderful!Timberline mountain was a short drive away and I learned to ski for the first time. House was clean and as advertised.Only knock would be the gas fireplace inside smelled of gas when you used it. So, we didn't use it and notified the rental company. Hopefully that is fixed for future renters! It was a bummer to not be able to use the fire place! Everything else was fantastic.

Thanks for taking time to share your thoughts on Blackwater Glade. We just wanted to let you know that the gas log set had just been installed. The fireplace has been checked and tested. It is thought the smell was normal and caused by dust/reside burning off the new logs. The gas log set has been operating properly since then and is sure to be a favorite part of the Blackwater Glade experience. Please come see us again!

Hot tub was great.Perfectly decorated with a perfect cabin feel. Tons of water pressure. Gas fireplace a nice touch. 4 bed, 4 bath for ultimate convenience and bathrooms are impeccable. Cozy and comfortable. WiFi worked great. We would highly recommend this property. You won’t want to leave. Would rent Blackwater Glade again in a heartbeat.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was nice, set away from the road and with lots of outdoor space for our dog to run around. There is an adorable loop trail in the back of the property and a couple of Adirondack chairs where one can sit quietly and drink their coffee. The Best of Canaan team was very responsive and was able to address some of the questions/ issues we had within a day (helping us figure out how to start the fireplace). The internet speed was pretty slow (5 Mbps rather than 50 Mbps) and restarting the modem/ router did not help. All in all it was a positive experience.

Perfect Getaway in the Woods

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was amazing. We chose it primarily because of the privacy and open feel and we were not disappointed. It was very private. There was only one property that we could see in a distance but I don't think anyone happened to be there during our stay anyways. So it was basically us surrounded by acres of beautiful woods. It was a close walk to get on the hiking trails nearby which was wonderful too.The house was very open and we loved the layout and that every room had a bathroom too. It was clean and you could tell that it was recently updated. The back deck area was our favorite to hang out and relax while watching the wild life. You will not be disappointed staying here if you like privacy and peace.

Lovely getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I came for three nights to celebrate our anniversary. The cabin was beautiful. The location was beautiful, the back yard was stunning and peaceful. The cabin was one of the best stocked we’ve been to, and we appreciated that! We did have an issue with the gas fireplace, within hours of arriving we called the rental office to inform this, they said someone would come out the next day to take a look. Unfortunately no one ever came, and we didn’t take the time to call back, we were busy enjoying our stay. So that was a bummer. I was also glad no children were with us because the loft steps were very very steep, not complaining about it just possibly alerting others with small children. Had our three boys been with us it would have definitely been off limits. Overall a fantastic stay, would definitely recommend.
