Festivus by the Sea - Meredith Lodging

If you have an electric car, Festivus comes with its own EV charger—the only one in Bella Beach.

You’ll find plenty of amenities and fun for all ages at the beautifully equipped Festivus by the Sea, with all you’ll need for a splendid stay at Bella Beach. Its fenced backyard, with a gas barbecue, picnic table, and 7-person hot tub, extends the home’s gathering space to the outdoors. From the convivial front porch, with its chair and porch glider, to the great room, Festivus will invite you into an easy-going stay with family and friends. Pine plank flooring, brightly colored and inviting walls, and pendant fixtures combine with plush sofas, a gas fireplace, an Amazon Firestick enabled TV (including Disney +), and lots of DVDs, games, books, and puzzles for a wonderful spot to enjoy time together. You can dine at the six-person table (there are an additional card table and chairs under the stairs) and cook everything from a snack to a feast from the fully-equipped kitchen, with its gas range and a sink that faces out into the living area so no one gets left out. A main-level queen bedroom shares a bath with the hall, and the skylit landing upstairs opens to two queen bedrooms with a shared bath. You can play ping-pong in the garage, or grab one of a fleet of bikes and tool around the lovely Bella Beach neighborhood admiring the houses, stopping at the children’s playground, getting crepes, coffee, and ice cream at Café C’est la Vie, and of course, hitting the beach access to play in the sand. Great girls trip to the coast!

Amazing little beach community and the house is perfect for a getaway! We had my electric car and the EV charger was super easy to use. The hot tub was AWESOME! all in all a comfortable stay and a wonderful weekend.

Overall nice

Upstairs never cooled down, jets I. Hot tub don’t work but was nice to have. Enjoyed the stay. Centrally located to everything from fishing to shopping.

NOT Recommended!

I would NOT recommend this vacation rental! When renting this property you get charged several additional fees which makes it much more expensive than it is worth. It is not a very nice home, the downstairs bed is in horrible condition, there are stains on the chairs, the hot tub was barely warm and the control panel on the hot tub is broken and you cannot turn up the temperature. It was truly a disappointment. The communication around the policies and rental agreement are completely disorganized. Less than a week prior to our stay we were notified that we could not bring our dog, however we were charged a pet fee and included our dog in the original contract. After several contacts back and forth with the property management with no resolution or information provided on their end, I eventually had to have VRBO contact the rental company on my behalf. This finally got the property management to uphold their end of the contract. At 8pm on the day we arrived I received a text message from the property management that informed us of an additional set of rules and policies that were required. They stated that these are “very strict rules”. If these rules are indeed very strict then they should be included and communicated in the original rental contract. All of the policies were all over the place depending on the documentation, none of them matching up. For example one stated quiet hours were at 9pm and another document stated quiet hours were at 10pm. One piece of documentation stated up to 2 dogs allowed, another documentation stated up to 1 dog allowed, while the third documentation stated no dogs allowed. They stated that parking rules were very strict and to only park in the designated areas based on the “map”, no map was provided. They are extremely unorganized and do not hold themselves to the same standards that they expect of their guests. Save your time, you can get a much nicer place, with better communication for half the price. Keep looking!

Ok stay but house furnishings a bit old. Bikes are in terrible condition and hot tub not usable

We were disappointed that the bikes were rusty and in disrepair. The hot tub cover was very heavy and the lifter was broken. We were not happy that the hot tub was also cold the first day of our visit. TV is ancient tiny and difficult to operate. These hosts need to spruce things up ASAP

Lovely stay for a short weekend

We had a nice time at the Festivus house. The neighborhood is very beautiful and quiet even with the coffee shop a few doors away ( which was a nice convenience). We loved the hot tub and the ping pong table. The house was well equipped and all the beds were good except the one on the main level. This is our second visit to a Bella beach property and I am sure we will return in the future.

Oregon getaway

Bella Beach is a cute little community and the beach is lovely! We enjoyed our stay here and appreciated the variety of games and puzzles available. My boys enjoyed the hot tub too. The only thing missing on my wishlist (and this applies to nearly every VRBO place we have ever stayed) is that there would be a few more cooking basics available so we could make a few basic meals (ie cooking oil, etc). A fan also would have been great- the upstairs got pretty warm. Thank you for having us!

Nice, quiet spot central to sights and food

We had a great time at Festivus and really enjoyed the neighborhood, nearby hikes, and visiting downtown Depoe Bay. Beds were comfortable and we loved the fireplace. House was very clean. One star knocked off for cleanliness of the hot tub - cloudy, biofilm, and floating mystery gunk. Needs a water exchange! Contacted the management about it but never heard back.

A wonderful little weekend getaway

The property was lovely! The teens loved the ping pong table in the garage, the adults loved the hot tub. Having a car charger for our car was a fantastic addition. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Overall, we loved our stay. A few items: I would recommend the bed in the first floor bedroom be replaced. The bed frame is in such horrible shape, any time one of us rolled over or moved slightly, it would make a loud creaking sound and I was honestly afraid it was going to break. Because of the lack of support from the frame, the mattress is dipping a bit on the right side. It’s possible the mattress needs to be replaced as well, but hard to tell with the bed frame the way it is. The rest of the beds were great. Not a complaint about the property but for Meredith Lodging: We were not given access to the property until 6pm on check in day because of some unspecified issue with housekeeping. We were provided with a brief “sorry this is inconvenient” but that was it. In the future, I would recommend some sort of discount/refund for the two hours we were expecting to have access (and had paid for). I understand things happen but I was really displeased with the attitude of “Oh well” that we received from management.

Family Spring break get a way

The property was great! Loved the location! We took a short walk to a beautiful beach morning and evenings. We brought our dog, which was a great set up for all. The house was so welcoming, felt like home. The amenities were great! Can't wait to go back. Would book this house again!

Beach Cottage

This property had enough room and was comfortable for my family of six. Well equipped kitchen, stocked with essential supplies and seasonings. The backyard is fully fenced for those with furry friends. There is even a separate potty spot. Hot tub was great. BBQ needed gas. When we called Meridith Lodging they had maintenance bring a new tank right over. Although it is at the entrance of the neighborhood it was surprisingly quiet. Short walk to a beautiful beach. We had fun walking through the neighborhood and super close to the coffee/pastry shop. Overall I was very pleased.

Perfect for the beach.

Great stay, clean unit, well stocked. We enjoyed the house and easy walk to the beach. Couple of areas to consider: Beds were softer than we are used to, maybe a little worn out. The hot tub did not function correctly (heater only worked part of the time, got in to low 90s and got right back out twice when set at 102). But overall great, inexpensive house for a beach stay.

Great little getaway.

Location and size of home was perfect for our family which included 8 adults and 1 toddler. Easy access to beach, clean, nice little patio and picnic table in the back as well as a gated area for when our dog. We stayed for two days and it was our first time using VRBO. A minor hick-up for us was that we were hoping to use the grill on the second day but the propane tank was out. After calling in the afternoon a couple times and not getting a response we had gone out. I did receive miss a call back a couple hours later and then later that evening received a call from a reservation agent apologizing and offering to send someone out to bring a full tank. When it did finally arrive it was late and so we didn't end up getting to use the grill but hopefully the next guest did. Overall it was a good experience for our family.
