Bella Bear - Meredith Lodging

Settle into the rocking chairs on the front porch to the sounds of the sea and you’ll know you’ve found a great place to stay in Bella Bear, a gracious, four-bedroom home in Bella Beach. It’s located close to the neighborhood beach access, and it’s also just up the road from a grassy park area and a children’s playground. The living room has plush carpeting and traditional furnishings, with a TV/DVD with Surround Sound over a sparkling granite gas fireplace. The dining room for ten is set apart from both the living room and kitchen, with a long granite bar along one wall for ease of serving. The kitchen, with its beautiful grey granite countertops, has all you’ll need to prepare meals for your stay. The main-floor queen bedroom suite has a spa tub under a glass-block window and a walk-in closet. Upstairs, two bedrooms share a bath, with TVs and individual sinks in each bedroom for extra convenience; the vaulted ceiling brings light and spaciousness to both rooms, and one room has a long, cushioned window seat and French doors to an ocean-view balcony.

It worked

The size of the home was great for 4 adults and 2 kids. Space to gather and hang. And space to be alone. The cleanliness of the home can be improved. Stains on walls, dirty and unvacuumed carpets, dead bugs all around.

Love this neighborhood! House is very close to beach access. All was as clean as could be with old carpet and old furniture which needs updating /replacing, but beds comfortable enough. Steps to upstairs bedrooms would be difficult for older folks for sure , and getting bags upstairs not easy. Manager responded quickly when code didn't work for entry.Tidal Raves as always is the MUST EAT restaurant - always top notch. Call ahead for wait time and get on the list. Café C'est La Vie (edge of the neighborhood) has great coffees and great breakfast options.

Great spot for duo families

Great spot for families especially if traveling with another family the addition over the garage was really nice. Home was super clean beds could use some upgrading. Location was perfect.

Family getaway

We had a great time staying at Bella Bear. It was more than spacious enough for our extended family of 7. Homey and comfortable with all the basics for food prep. The nearly empty beach is just a couple minute walk away.

Great place for Family to gather

This house was located in a nice little coastal community. It was close to the beach and had a nice view from the two balcony's. It was a little dated, but very clean and accommodating. It was nice that even though the dining table has 6 chairs, there were additional nice folding chairs in closet. We would definitely stay here again.

Great setup

Overall this was a great location and perfect place for our family. It could use a few updates and a few more items in the kitchen. But overall very comfortable there and we all enjoyed our stay.

Daughters graduation

We fly to Oregon to watch our daughter graduate and chose to stay in Depoe Bay/Bella beach. My husband is originally from Toledo and we currently live in St. Louis Missouri. Loved the house and the location was perfect. The beach was right there and the ocean sound was so relaxing in the evenings. The house had everything we needed. Great property!

Thanksgiving

Family decided to do the coast for the holiday. House looked great on the web page. The jacuzzi tub didn't work, by reading the guest book on the coffee table it hasn't worked in years. I needed to have my husband and son open the sliding door for me. Very hard to open. And there was not enough hot or even warm water to have a shower. There were 6 adults and 4 children 2 and under. Beautiful location.

Birthday celebration

I would've given this property a 5 star rating across the board except for 2 items. There is not a shower in the primary bathroom and the beds were a bit hard and difficult for those of us who have back problems. Otherwise the house was really an awesome property and had all the amenities, even beach towels, that we needed for our stay and is perfectly located to enjoy all of the activities that are to be enjoyed in Depoe Bay. A manual explaining all of the systems in the home would be extremely helpful.

Disappointed Guests, not Worth the Money

I don’t know where to begin. There was a ton of outside garbage that greeted us when we arrived. The carpets were full of stains, beds uncomfortable, sheets stained and ripped. The door knobs and around the door knobs were dirty. The refrigerator was rusted on the outside, ice maker broken a lot of the outlets in the kitchen didn’t work. The hot tub was no where to be found. Furniture is old, tired and stained. The lamp table rocked back and forth. The room above the garage stunk of mildew as well as the garage. It is unfortunate that a beautiful house and property has not been maintained.

great location, but that's about it...

My family and I stayed here recently, there were 7 adults and 3 children. We booked this property because it said could accommodate our size of family and was close to the beach. We were all very disappointed in the property when we arrived, and throughout our stay. For the cost of staying here, we expected more. The first thing we noticed were the various stains on the carpet throughout the house which were awful. Next, we noticed there was a cleaning product on the stovetop that was never wiped up and that the trashcan outside was already full and wasn't going to be picked up for another week. Throughout the stay we experienced that the kitchen sink leaked underneath, the main house coffee maker didn't work, a lot of the dishes in the cabinet were dirty when we went to use them, the home provided boogie boards one of which was broken, there was mouse feces in the garage, the upstairs shower in the main house didn't drain well and the toilet constantly ran, the guest house toilet had to be flushed several times to go down, and so on... The sell for us on the house was how many people it could accommodate, yet they gave us 2 paper towel rolls for a 5-day trip for 10. We didn't feel like we were set up for success. I felt the need to leave this honest review in hopes of the management company improving the cleanliness of accommodations of the home for future persons.
