We absolutely LOVED our stay over Christmas at this beautifully decorated and super cozy home! It was one of the nicest holidays we’ve ever had.
Mindy, the owner, made sure that we had everything we needed, and even went so far as to have lovely Christmas decor put out for us, so we would enjoy our holiday stay even more.
The home is BEAUTIFULLY decorated (even nicer than the pictures depict) with the most COMFORTABLE sofas, pillows, throws, and beds. The bed in the master bedroom even had plush micofleece sheets—that you might think would be too hot—but were not (just snuggy warm when you crawled in). Once we got home, I had to order myself a set of these awesome sheets. My husband said it’s the most comfortable home he’s ever been in!
The house is sparkling clean, and the kitchen is well stocked with most everything you would need. There’s a set of good Henckel knives, a newer set of really nice non-stick pans, a large Crockpot, a wide variety of spices on hand, and even a
coffee bean grinder. I was really impressed with this, as I usually have to pack and bring all these items when we rent a house (not this time)!
The layout of the house is also ideal, with the master bedroom on one side of the house and the other bedrooms
on the other side. Especially important if traveling with kids or another couple. The house is dead quiet. Another nice layout feature was having a separate TV room with a closet full of games. We all gathered in that room in the evening to watch movies (TV was quite large). We did however, bring our own Apple TV to make sure we got the Disney Channel.
It was snowing during our stay, and we really enjoyed the warmth of the huge rock fireplace and the private view out the floor-to-ceiling windows to the back forest (so relaxing) . My husband and son, used the snowshoes available at the house to hike up to the top of the hill in the backyard. At the top—the most breathtaking vista of Donner Lake.
Thank you again Mindy for sharing your beautiful home. Did you see I booked it again for next Christmas? Can't wait! :)
