Historic Ox Bow House c.1800 - Waterfront

A cabin in the woods with a hot coffee and warm blanket nestled by a beautiful fire pit overlooking the creek is just what everyone needs to getaway.

The cabin at Muddy Creek is a beautifully restored stone home on 40+ acres with over 4,000 ft of the creek running through it. A perfect getaway for those really looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. It's whatever you want to make it! Tons of things to get into with the family or a peaceful place to relax and really connect with nature. Not to mention .. pet friendly! We love our furry family members and think they should be included in family vacations as well! Regardless of what you do here, the sound of the running water from the creek that runs through the property really soothes the soul.

Enjoy our property to its full potential .. Have fun spending the day fishing, kayaking (two single kayaks available), tubing (4 tubes available), hiking, or just walking the grounds. The little ones love going into the stream to catch crawdads and salamanders! There is so much fun to be had and plenty of memories to be made here!

If you're more low key, this is the perfect place for you as well! Enjoy the sound of the running water in our adirondack chairs down near the creek and if you're really feeling adventurous, light up a fire in the pit! You could also take a walk over to the tree swing or the bridge and relax with a good book.

We do need to note that this house was built in the 1800s, it for sure was not built the way homes are made today (which obviously makes this home VERY special) The two staircases in the house are narrow and you may need to be careful and possibly have to duck your head a little going up and down. We would say if you have mobility issues you may want to figure out if staying here is the best plan for you.

Disclosure-A camera is located on the driveway when you enter the property. There are also wildlife cameras attached to three trees on the property not pointed at or near the house. There are also cameras around the barn that are only active during certain events, the ones inside the barn are active.

Jodi was a wonderful host. This home has such rich history and you see the love and details they have put into restoring this home. We loved the pet run for our dog and although we do not have young kids, there is plenty of activities to enjoy for all ages. We will definitely be booking another stay.

Second time staying at Adam and Jodi’s slice of paradise. I stayed once during the winter andJust knew I had to return. I just stayed for weekend in August and enjoyed tubing/kayaking right off their property on muddy creek. ThisProperty will not disappoint. it was so nice to see my husband disconnect and peacefully fish,My in-laws laughing down the most beautiful creek tubing and birdwatching and my dogs running free and rolling in the grass. Highly recommend for nature lovers and if you truly want to relax unwind and stay on location thisPlace will check all the boxes

Amazing property!

I thought we were renting a cute cabin but had no idea about the property itself. The cabin is indeed adorable (and 200 years old!) but also on acres of land, a creek, and it's stunning. The hosts were responsive and thoughtful, and made our stay comfortable. Every detail considered. Highly recommend (but don't tell everyone, we want to be future renters too!).

Slice of heaven!!!

Wow, these pictures don’t even do this property justice. It’s beyond gorgeous and has so much beautiful history to it. The property was absolutely our favorite part. The dogs had a blast adventuring safely around, the different paths to explore are very cool, especially the grass bridge! We spent a lot of time at the fire pit by the river. We drank our coffee there, ate breakfast there, hung out at night there….stunning location. If you have the ability to, I highly suggest tubing down the river. I was a bit nervous at first but my husband talked us into it. It was SO much fun!! They even include kayaks if you’re up for that adventure. The hosts are very responsive to messages and so thoughtful! We loved the welcome box of goodies. The upstairs living room is SO cozy. Our dogs absolutely hated the stairs but we just used the outside doors to get them up and down stairs and it was no issue. There’s games to play, books to read, blankets to snuggle with…couldn’t ask for more. The house is gorgeous and so unique. I was obsessed with how they decorated and the colors they used to paint the kitchen and accents. The surrounding area is really neat as well! We stopped at farm stands and got fresh fruits and vegetables, the flower stands are AMAZING and we also stopped and got farm fresh meat to grill. If you’re looking for a private, beautiful slice of heaven, you’ve found it. Book this place as it’s really a once in a lifetime vacation. Thank you!!!!

Tranquil & Peaceful Getaway!!!

What an amazing stay we had!!! First and foremost the hosts of the property are absolutely amazing. Their communication was clear, they answered all questions quickly, were extremely welcoming and shared all their knowledge of the area to insure a positive stay....just all around 5 star host. This property is an absolute gem of a find and offers a wide variety of things to do. From all the outdoor activities, to the small town flair there are plenty of amenities to keep you occupied. Fishing in the morning, hiking in the afternoon, and then resting around the firepit in the evening; we could not of asked for a more relaxing and stress relieving vacation. For us, the property is just a short trip from Md. to Pa.; however when you are there, you feel like you are miles away from home. It is very private and quiet. The home is very comfortable and the interior design flows perfectly with the structure. Our favorite part was sitting at the firepit that over looks the creek; just watching the water go by. Listening to music, counting the different type of wildlife, throwing a fishing line in...and not a worry in the world. Just a great place to be. There is no question that we will be back to this property!!! Thank you to the owners for sharing your little slice of heaven with us. Very grateful and looking forward to heading back up soon!!!

Unique and cozy!

My family (husband, 1.5year old, and dog) and I had a great time at the cabin! We booked it for a long weekend and planned to go to the Great Wild Lodge water park one day. It was not too far and a perfect location to just get away! The property is beautiful and amazing - my toddler and dog loved exploring. The house is so cozy and unique. Our dog did have trouble going down the stairs once he was up he was too scared to come down, but we just went down with him along the stairs on the side of the house and it was fine! We also had a fantastic experience with the hosts - very communicative and gracious - There was a nice welcome basket upon arrival :) Thanks for an awesome stay!

Perfect getaway

I want to thank the owners of the property for being very accommodating and thoughtful. Our trip was amazing and the scenery was unreal! I have never seen our puppy have so much fun! One of the most memorable trips we have ever taken. Couldn’t be happier with our stay. Highly recommended.

Amazing Weekend Away

Beautiful property. We had a great weekend with friends tubing, enjoying the property, and exploring the area. Our dogs loved the place. Had an issue with yellow jackets in the dog run, but the owners were super responsive. We plan to come back. If we were to imagine our dream home, it would be this! What a special place!

End of Summer Getaway

Perfect getaway in the countryside

Jodi & Adam's property is absolutely stunning. The house is even better in person than the pictures. Incredible attention to details in decorating the house, everything you need is there down to the welcoming s'mores kit and bottle of wine. The grounds are very well taken care off and the creek made for fun splashing for the dog and the humans. We only stayed two days (one night) because of scheduling conflicts so we didn't try out the kayaks or tubes. Give Ma Pa Pizza a try - you won't regret it! We certainly hope to be back soon! Thanks again for sharing this beautiful piece of land with the rest of us!

Heaven on earth.

This property was so dreamy! It is situated on a beautiful creekside meadow and the historic stone house has been meticulously renovated. We saw deer and an eagle on the property while there. What a great place to take life easy for awhile!

A Diamond in the Delta!

First of all, if there are better hosts on VRBO then we’ve yet to find them. Jodi and Adam were extremely helpful and gracious! The property is stunning. It has everything you could need for a romantic getaway. Upon arrival and easy access to entry we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a box with all the fixins for enjoying s’mores down by the fire pit. This 4 acre property is wonderful. Just down the path from the house is a stone fire pit overlooking Muddy Creek. We spent the better part of two days just sitting there with our favorite libations enjoying the view and watching the fire. I wish we had more info on things to do in the area…… but we spent our entire weekend at the house enjoying the property and each other’s company. I can tell you that the grocery store ShopRite was only a few miles away along with Delta Pizza (only a mile away) Across the street from ShopRite is a beer and wine store…..what more could one want! We brought our two dogs with us…a beagle mix rescue and a Golden Retriever. Let me say this…. They were in heaven running around the property and chasing each other. They also took advantage of the enclosed dog run to keep them sequestered when we needed. Beautifully decorated home with excellent touches, comfortable bed and pillows incredibly large modern bathroom and shower put a finish to this wonderful home. Part of me want this home to never be rented again so as to have it available for the next time we come back…..and we will be back!

Splendid!

Our first visit and we hope to return! Inside everything was as listed, and even better than the pics. We were in awe of the detailed millwork, there were luxurious touches everywhere, and the internet worked perfectly. Outside it was a magical oasis. Very private and lots to explore if you’re so inclined. Highly recommend!

Relaxing Weekend at Muddy Creek

There was a lot to explore on the property. We were able to just sit back and enjoy the surroundings. Enjoyed watching a snapping turtle make its way through the yard, a turkey make an appearance, a fawn grab a drink from the creek, a passing heron fly by, and a family of mergansers float by. The house takes you back in time with the luxury of modern amenities. Great chance to recharge. Hosts were more than accommodating.

Birthday Weekend

The cabin at muddy creek couldn’t have been a better choice for a birthday weekend. The property is amazing and gave us the opportunity to completely unplug. It was a great place for our dog Lucy as well with trails and the creek steps from the house. Jodi and Adam were excellent hosts who made the entire check in and check out process seamless and we’re always a text away if need be. We look forward to our next visit.

Wonderful!

This was a wonderful property to stay at. It was so welcoming and it was a step back in time. The hosts for this property were so accommodating and helpful and welcoming. They went out of their way to make this stay enjoyable. We hope to rent this property again in the future.
