Weekend Stay

Our stay was comfortable. The location was tranquil, set on a winery, with beautiful views of the ranges. Lounge with fireplace cozy and kitchen great. Beds were comfortable. As others have mentioned yes due to the location phone coverage/wifi is bad. The downside and why a 3 star is the bathrooms were not clean. Also the firewood was enough for just 1 night so had to buy more for our second night. And yes need to bring your own matches to light the fire. A suggestion to the owners would be to allow enough firewood to service the number of nights per booking.

Somerville Wines Broke

The home was nice although the rooms slightly smaller than expected. It was quite rustic without some conveniences. Wifi is listed as an amenity however the connection is extremely unstable and unpredictable which meant we were not able to be contacted the entire time we were at the property. If we had known this in advance we would have been able to remedy the situation. The property management group only communicated this and other terms and conditions on the day of the stay. We found this to be too late and it would have been nice to know this information prior to booking and paying. The location of the property was perfect for the wedding we attended and the outlook from the property was lovely.

Weekenda (Syays) were shocking. They should be ashamed of themseleves

Property was not ready at 3 pm despite the fact we were told that it was ready at 12 pm. There were no beds made and laundry from the last visitor was on the ground. The kitchen had not been tidied. It was unfit to live in so they had to get us alternative accommodation. My recommendation is to go elsewhere as management of this property is disgraceful.

Beautiful location but wouldn't stay again

We were drawn to staying here as it had a fireplace and wanted to be cosy for a weekend away. The location is quite far (30 min) from the main activities of the Hunter, but it is set on a vineyard and has beautiful scenery. However we were disappointed with a few things: 1. The showers - the water pressure and temperature inconsistent 2. Internet reception - we had no mobile service and the WiFi offered was very limited 3. TV - although they offer Foxtel, the channels and limited so bring DVDs! 4. The kitchen did not have many basic necessities (e.g. salt, oil, variety of teas) 5. The beds were comfortable but recommend bringing your own pillows and extra blankets. We did love the fireplace (firewood provided but no matches!) and fresh air in the Valley but for the price (split with 4 people) would look to stay elsewhere next time.

Great location for a private getaway

This property is in a great, private location with fabulous views. We had a lovely stay and a couple of little improvements would have made it a five out of five. The hot water system is pretty old and the kitchen isn't very well fitted out for cooking.

June long weekend

The cottage is lively but no mention is made in the listing that it is RIGHT NEXT DOIR to a restaurant. Music played until 2am on our first night and was playing again at 8.30 the next morning. Children drove an ATV around the property all day long, starting at 8am. On the 2nd day, a 40th birthday party took place all day. . It was beautiful and everyone was lovely but it was more like being at a party than a relaxing weekend away.

Somerville just keeps giving. We can fault any area of this lovely home and have fallen in love with the place. A very easy and comfortable getaway whether for work or pleasure.

Happy to be back

We can't get enough of this place. It's simply an easy choice for a stopover with the hosts and owners treating us just like any other holidays guests. The home is always well presented, clean and super cozy by the fire on a cold night. You did it again Somerville - we are impressed.

Easy and affordable

Easily ticks all the boxes for a comfortable stay. Enjoyed the fireplace greatly with a great bottle of Cab Sav we picked up from Glandore on the way through. Always a pleasure to deal with Weekenda who make arrival so easy. We will be back for sure.

Surprise Gem - Stunning location

A perfect little piece of country charm hidden in Broke. The exterior of the Cottage is quite rustic and really gives a sense of the area with vineyards dotted around. Inside is very well presented. Owners have taken great care to bring this farm cottage into the modern world. Lounge area is really comfy. We loved sitting around the fire drinking wine and chatting. Weekenda are great hosts. They provided us with a stack of information prior to arrival including some really cool deals they have running with some of the wine providers in the area. This was a great choice for us to just relax. Highly recommend.
