Tracey, This home is a great location to enjoy Northern Michigan for those that love being on the water. We too dislike the no-see-ums that love being on the water just as much as we do and this year they seemed to be more of a nuisance than prior years. Unfortunately like mosquitos and Mayflies, they are another part of pest world that we have learned to live with during the summer months. Long-term guests like you are the heart of what we do, and it’s deeply disappointing to hear that your recent experience didn’t reflect the quality you’ve come to expect. We sincerely apologize for the condition of the home and the inconveniences you experienced during your stay. The issues you've described—such as the sinking patio, makeshift railings, partial kitchen functionality, and a refrigerator that was not properly cleaned—are unacceptable and not reflective of the standards we strive to maintain at Northern Michigan Escapes. These concerns have been forwarded to our maintenance and housekeeping teams, and we will also be reviewing them with the property owner for urgent attention and necessary repairs. Your feedback regarding the limited basic supplies, including towels, laundry detergent, and dishwasher pods, is also important. While we do provide a starter supply, we understand that for guests staying two weeks or longer, this often falls short. We’ll take a closer look at how we can improve supply support for extended stays, especially given the premium price point of the property. We also hear your concerns about rising rental costs and the disconnect between the home’s condition and its pricing. Your perspective is valid, and we agree that rates should align with the overall quality and upkeep of the home. We will be reviewing this home’s pricing structure and overall maintenance plan to ensure it delivers the value our guests deserve. We truly appreciate your candor. While it’s difficult to read that this stay left you feeling disappointed and taken advantage of, your insights help us improve. We hope you'll consider giving us the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future—whether it’s a return to this home after updates are made.
