We arrived evening Saturday Dec.10/16. Monday morning, 8 am we were stunned
to hear heavy earth moving equipment being unloaded onto the vacant property next door. Excavator, backhoe, bulldozer. Soon thereafter, 36 large, dump-truckloads of fill was dumped on the property. Next morning, Tuesday, was more of the same i.e., diesel fumes wafting over the cement wall separating the 2 properties; very loud exhaust sounds nearly non-stop all daylong; men with sledgehammers taking down the neighbouring property's portion of the separating wall; vibrations from the machines were making our coffee mugs skip across the outdoor table; water in the pool shimmered from the disturbance.
Wednesday morning my family (6 adults + grandchild) vacated the premises for another villa we managed to snag on short 1 day notice, at substantially higher per diem rental $$.
The owner of the property, upon hearing of our experience, and after some negotiating, graciously offered us a full refund (1 week) of the rental.
Once the new home is built next door ( 6 mo / 1 year) Villa De Ventos will be a lovely rental for a large family.
