From initial enquiry, to reservation and idyllic, perfect stay, Valerie was wonderful as was Cristina our thoughtful and kind housekeeper. Casa Cappella is a very special place. Authentic, superb, private location with jaw dropping views. It had the biggest pool for a private residence that I have ever encountered! We were captivated by Casa Cappella and it was truly a privilege to be there. Thank you Valerie, Cristina and Alessandro!

I am so pleased to hear that Kenneth and his guests loved Casa Cappella as much as we do. He has described it exactly as we see it and we are very happy to have shared it with them. I am glad he appreciated the size of the pool as that size was at my insistence. It's a real grown up pool with a shallow end with graduated steps for little ones and a deep end with a diving board for the more able and adventurous swimmers. Thank you so much Kenneth it was a pleasure to get to know you and I look forward to maybe hearing about future possible holidays that might bring you down our way!

We had an absolutely wonderful week at Casa Capella! The house itself was fantastic, featuring four lovely bedrooms in a traditional Tuscan style upstairs, with plenty of space for eight people. There was a wonderful, fully equipped country-style kitchen. The terrace is amazing, whether you want to lounge on the sunbeds by the pool or sit and dine in the shade of the trees. It enjoys a wonderful, secluded, and private location atop one of the hills overlooking Lucca. We received excellent service and assistance, both on-site and in our dealings with the owner. Would love to come back anytime!

Very relaxing! Intended on doing so much but in the end stayed by the pool for much of our stay in Casa Capella. Would recommend the place to anyone.

Great description of Casa Cappella! It is in a truly remarkable setting and guests do tend to choose to spend most of their time by the pool eating, drinking and relaxing. Lovely to hear that our guests have had such a great experience and that they would happily recommend Casa Cappella to anyone.

Fantastic stay at Casa Cappella. Amazing pool & views and all amenities catered for. We loved the peace & tranquility but it was also a great base to explore Tuscany from - with easy access to Pisa, Lucca, Florence & beyond. We spent much of our time on the terrace, soaking up the views and the peace. Great communications with the owner & local contact. Highly recommend.

So pleased to hear that Cath and her family enjoyed their stay at Casa Cappella and thank you to them for being great guests. Casa Cappella is. as described by Cath, a very peaceful and tranquil place but with easy access to all the places that are a must for visits when you are in Tuscany. Being available to guests for any questions they may have before their stay and at any time during their holiday is, in my opinion, an important role as a host. Also we are lucky to have Cristina, as our local contact, who can help out practically when needed.

Getaway from it all

What a gem high in the mountains, with a wonderful view of Lucca. Rustic farmhouse with a huge pool and gardens. If u need to get away and relax this is the place for you. Rental car essential and the drive up the mountains is tight but after a few attempts you familiarize yourself with it.

A very belated thank you for such a positive review. Casa Cappella is indeed a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and well worth the drive up the mountains to enjoy the incredible views from the villa and from the terrace.

Great!

Casa Cappella is paradise! It has a great atmosphere, good comfort and a very large swimming pool. The location on a hilltop is splendid. Valerie and Christine are very friendly and helpful to make your holiday a success. I certainly recommend Casa Capella. We were with a family of seven adults and enjoyed enough space and privacy and had great dinners and evenings together. Christine cooked us a delicious dinner one night and we walked to nearby restaurant Tosca several times.

Beautiful secluded spot to enjoy Tuscany!

I stayed for a week at Casa Capella with a group of 6 friends, and it was perfect! The outdoor spaces and gardens are beautiful and the pool is enormous - a real must in the heat wave we experienced. Cristina the housekeeper was extremely friendly, helpful and a fantastic cook! The meal she cooked for us was a highlight of our trip. She was also very responsive and helped us within minutes when we got ourselves locked out of the house. We made the most of the very well equipped kitchen and BBQ during our stay, as there are unfortunately no restaurants within walking distance but many beautiful authentic places a short drive away, down the hill. 5 stars all round, thank you!

Relaxing Rustic Tuscan Villa

We had a fabulous relaxing 2 week break at Villa Cappella. The pool was perfect for both adults and teenagers with the bonus of inflatables which we usually have to buy and leave behind. The views from the Villa windows are stunning and it’s a shame you don’t also have the view while relaxing in the terrace area, however both the terrace and pool are secluded for complete privacy which when lit up at night is just stunning. Communication with Valerie was excellent and we had no trouble finding the Villa. The large supermarket en route to the Villa from Lucca stocked everything we required and was only a 15minute drive away. We could have easily stayed longer.

I am so pleased that Lucy and her family had a great time at Casa Cappella. I am always delighted to hear from guests and glad that they appreciated having the inflatables provided. Fortunately the fabulous view can be seen from most locations in and around the villa but as Lucy rightly noted the terrace is a more enclosed area that comes into its own in the evenings. Lights on, Prosecco popped and some delicious italian food plus the view of the pool make it quite enchanting. I do provide detailed directions including photo views along the route and this usually makes the villa fairly easy to locate. I can think of nothing worse at the end of a long journey than having difficulty locating your destination! And the Esselunga supermarket is excellent.

Lovely location!

My family and I enjoyed our June stay, especially the beautiful pool and grounds. A few things that might be helpful to note for American travelers: There is a washing machine but no dryer (this is common, just helpful to realize), and the road leading to the property is extremely long and narrow, which is typical in Tuscany but might be unfamiliar to new travelers. This is incredibly scenic; just be sure to budget time traveling into Lucca. Valerie was incredibly responsive. The neighboring caretaker was also lovely and speaks limited English, so it was helpful to have Valerie as a contact person when we were running late! I would note that the WiFi only works in certain rooms, which is helpful to know if you have kids who want to be on an iPad at the end of a long day. The property is gorgeous and authentic to Tuscany. We would recommend it!

I am always happy to hear that guests have enjoyed their stay at Casa Cappella. Thank you to Kara and her family. Arriving at Casa Cappella the view is the perfect reward after travelling. It has many different presentations. One of my favourites is the night view with the moon in the sky and all the lights in the valley twinkling below me. The large pool is always welcoming - especially great to come back to after a day out sight seeing. I consider it important as a host to make myself easily contactable for guests as any problems that arise can usually be resolved between myself and Cristina the housekeeper who lives nearby. We are in regular contact with each other throughout the rental season. Thank you to Kara for letting let us know that they were going to be late.

I am also pleased that they enjoyed the beautiful views that come from Casa Cappella being located on a mountainside. The 12x6 metres pool is in a beautiful position being behind the villa and completely private. The villa is surrounded by gardens together with its own olive groves and chestnut woods. Cristina, the housekeeper, enjoys meeting guests on arrival and is available to help out whenever she is needed.

The location of Casa Cappella is stunning with views that are far reaching and frequently admired. To ensure there are no problems with arriving at the property we send out detailed directions with the Guest Information Pack by Email which is received by guests a number of weeks before their departures. Photos of the advised route are included as well as detailed written directions. I am sorry that the guests appear not to have followed these directions on their first arrival but fortunately they discovered them later for themselves! I am glad to hear that they explored much of the surrounding areas but also enjoyed Casa Cappella as somewhere to spend time relaxing.

I am so pleased that Cecelia and her family enjoyed staying at Casa Cappella. Cristina who is the housekeeper asked me to thank them for being such delightful guests. It is so amazing to see the incredible view when you arrive at the villa. As you drive up the hillside you keep wondering - will it be around the next corner? Then when you pull into the drive the whole view opens up before you. You walk through the villa and the back door opens out onto the terrace and then you see the pool - first there is a completely private terrace with comfortable seating and a dining area and then the steps down to the pool. The pool is not overlooked at all and has beautiful planting all around three sides. Casa Cappella has been described as an oasis of calm whilst still being within reasonable driving distances of Pisa, Florence, the Cinque Terre and not forgetting Lucca which is almost Florence in miniature with all its historical buildings, cathedral, churches and so many restaurants to choose from! All this is within a drive of less than half an hour from the villa. What’s not to love about it?!!!

Wunderbarer Ort

Vielen lieben Danke an euch!!

If I had to sum up Casa Cappella I would say that it is without doubt a gentle relaxing place to stay and that it is well located for visiting Florence, Siena, Lucca and Pisa as well - so hopefully it will be exactly right for your family.
The kitchen is well equipped as I love to cook. There is a large gas BBQ which is always well used and is located with a fantastic view over the plains of Lucca that the chef can enjoy whilst cooking. There is also a
pizza oven which our housekeeper and her husband will fire up to cook for you if you choose to have a pizza evening.
The pool is 12m x 6m with a diving board at the deep end. Plenty big enough for a family to have fun together and we do supply some inflatables to add to your enjoyment. The pool is located off the terrace at the back of the villa so is completely private and your enjoyment is unlikely to be heard by anyone!
You are very welcome to bring Laptops, tablets, Xboxes and the tv is a modern one so would be compatible with these. There is wifi in the house but the walls are very thick and so it is only available a short distance outside.
There are birds of prey around the house - you can see and hear them above the valley and sometimes directly above the house. At night we often hear owls and in the afternoons swallows swoop for insects on the pool. There are many different birds around including the Hoopoe bird which migrates every year from Africa and loves Italian gardens.
Surrounding the villa there are olive groves, chestnut woods, acacia woods and a wild flower meadow and you are free to explore them all - in total about ten acres. There are also three different species of deer
which you may be lucky enough to see as well as foxes and porcupines.
The villa is very private as it is at the end of a drive and is the only property there. The neighbours house is at the beginning of the drive and they are also our friends who look after the villa and yourselves if you need
any help whilst you are staying.

Casa Cappella is a very special place and all who come there for whatever reason remark upon the fact that the location is amazing. The villa is located at the end of a drive with no other properties beyond it so there is complete privacy for anyone when staying at the villa. There are excellent 360 degree views from the property and the pool itself is in an elevated position beyond the villa with terraces before it and another beyond the pool looking out over the gardens and acacia woods below it. Yet another terrace is located on the edge of the acacia woods which is a great place to cool off with an evening glass of prosecco or wine. The night time views are stunning and this was a feature that I was particularly keen to find when I was looking for a villa to buy. If you choose Casa Cappella for your holiday I do not think you will be disappointed.
