Nine of us stayed in the house, including two teenagers and a five year old. Plenty of room, with no worrying about queuing for a shower or the loo.
The kitchen was a lovely room, opening out into the garden and was where we ate and socialised for a time afterwards. We'd then retire to the sitting room and light a fire. Yes it's mid Summer but a detached stone house is often cold at night!
Garden offered something for everyone, lots of things for our daughter to play with and chickens for some fresh eggs.
This house is obviously a family home and that benefitted us in some ways, such as children's toys to play with and a homely feel. But it also meant a few messy drawers and locked cupboards. Not a huge deal but worth mentioning. A big selling point was the fresh water swimming but that was a little oversold. We didn't swim and didn't see anyone else either, it just didn't look suitable.
But we did use the hot tub and that was brilliant. A genuine treat for us all. The pizza oven will have to wait for another visit.
Easy to walk or cycle from the house in lots of directions, which was great and meant cars were limited to shopping. We didn't adventure out much and that was no bad thing.
Jules was very responsive via email and that was very reassuring in the run up and during our stay.
Overall we loved it. We would have appreciated knowing it was a family home that is regularly used by the owners but this is a small point.
A good holiday with happy memories.
