Easter break
The photos of the villa completely reflect what a great place it is to stay.
Gadi was a fantastic owner & made us feel very welcome.
We stayed in the villa in early April, unfortunately the weather was not good, so our experience would have been different if we had had lovely weather.
The villa is situated up in the mountain but it is an easy 10 minute drive to either Elvira a small village with restaurants, supermarkets & bars or Mijas costa a village resort along the coast. It has lots of shops & restaurants & a lovely walkway that you can stroll along next to the beach.
We found a sat nav was a must.
Initially finding the villa was not that easy but Gadi was excellent & came to meet us at a nearby restaurant calked Kudu, which is definitely worth a visit. The address for the restaurant is
plaza Juan Hoffman, La mairena, Elvira, 29612.
This restaurant is only 5 mins in the car from the villa & not down in Elvira itself.
There is a German school & a tennis academy in this area also, which are good markers if you need directions.
The villa has a great kitchen & the layout is very easy for families with small children or teenagers.
There was great wifi connection & our teenagers found the tv had good channels.
As it was so cold we made use of the wood burning stove on an evening but did manage to have a BBQ one day!
The views from the villa are spectacular & the roof terrace is great later in the afternoon to catch the sun. (We did see it 1 day!)
There is also a fantastic running machine on the terrace which everyone enjoyed using.
The pool was very cold but that was due to the time of year we went & the lack of sunshine. Saying that, the kids did go in the pool 1 day.
We felt there wasn't enough sun loungers for the number of people staying so informed Gadi & the next day he brought 2 brand new loungers which was great service. Unfortunately we never saw the sun after that but they will be great for the next rental!
If you want a quiet, peaceful, scenic holiday, in a modern, well equipped villa, then we would recommend staying here. If you don't mind driving, as you definitely need a car & don't want to be in the main resort areas, then it is perfect.
There is a popular golf course 5 mins away, which also has restaurants.
We would definitely return but maybe later in the year when the sun is shining!
