My wife and I, and another couple from America just finished a wonderful 5 days here. The high points are the million dollar views from the first floor and the master bedroom, the spotless condition of the house, the very complete kitchen with everything you need, and the quiet little historic hamlet of Maggianna where it is located.
On the downside, the second large bedroom is in the attic (3rd floor) with only 2 very small windows, and it gets very hot in the summer. This room is the only one with an air conditioner, but it is a portable internal unit that is very loud…probably too loud for most people to sleep with on. And the location, while having an amazing view of the lake, is a 15-20 minute walk up a quite steep stone walkway from the lakefront town of Calozzo, where there is a store, bakery and a couple of restaurants. For some people this might require driving down the winding road to town. Also be aware that the passenger ferry service only stops here a couple times a day, so a car is required if you want to visit other parts of the lake
Overall, we had a very positive experience here, and Paola the host is very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay in this beautiful house again if we return to this area.
