What views from this wonderful apartment. Every evening the sunset was warm and comfortable on the lounge chairs and mornings perfect -sitting enjoying the fruit and olive trees and distant mountains. A perfect place to paint if inclined. The inside kitchen was very well equipped and we easily made a few meals. We were fortunate that it was olive harvest and I offered to help rake the trees and collect the bounty. Sabrina and Luca drove us to the town olive press and we watched the flourescent green liquid pour into the container at the end process. This year’s first pressing. What a wonderful experience! Their sons gave us information about the little working farm and its history and local treasures not to be missed. We easily drove to Pienza, a very charming hill town, Perugia, Lake Trasimeno and Arezzo. Very high recommendations.

Staying at the Luna Apartment in Cortona was such a memorable experience for us. You have your own path up to the road just a couple minutes from the entrance to town. The perfect spot to quickly access it but also enjoy the quiet, peaceful feel of the Tuscan countryside. We used the washing machine multiple times which was clutch in the middle of our long trip. And I have to comment on the lovely family who lives in the upper floors of the house! Sabrina and Mateo were so kind in picking us up and dropping off at the train station in Camucia. The bus service does not seem reliable and taxis are often reserved in advance so it was a lifesaver that they were so willing to help us. We had multiple lengthy chats with Mateo and it was so nice getting acquainted and learning some of the history of their farm. You can tell they really enjoy getting to know their guests and making sure we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make their guests comfortable. Because traveling around the area by foot is a little difficult for older people, they kindly took us to the grocery store our first and then the train station the day we checked out. Our biggest issue was walking into the wonderful village of Cortona. The walk up from the property to the highway isn't too bad -- a bit steep but we navigated that fine. But when you reach the highway, there is no walkway or safe way to walk the stretch to town while cars and busses whiz by. Because of this, we only went into the village once and never went back for dinner because of the difficulty walking without a safe pathway and felt it would be especially dangerous at night.As an aside: the hosts offered to take us where we needed to go, but we didn't want to take advantage of their generosity. For people with cars, this would be an ideal rental with its lovely overlook of the valley below, the fabulous village with its many cafes and unique shops, as well as the charming hosts.

L' appartamento di Angela è fantastico. Ha tutto il fascino della Toscana, è comodo e non manca di niente. La vista dalla terrazza è meravigliosa ed è stato molto rilassante poter sedersi e mangiare con questo panorama. La comunicazione con Sabrina è stata perfetta, così come la sua gentilezza e disponibilità. Cortona centro è solo a 15 minuti di cammino, perfetto per approfittare della pace ma essere a due passi dal paese. Ritorneremo di sicuro

One of the best experiences, EVER!

Our first experience regarding our stay was when Sabrina (the owner) picked us up at the train station! (Who does that?) She is warm and kind and there were so many thoughtful things she did during our one month stay. We loved everything about the property, especially all of the tools in the kitchen to cook, which we did everyday. It is a bit of a steep walk up to town, but it gave us the opportunity to get some steps in. When it was sadly time to leave, Matteo graciously drove us to the train station and actually walked us to the other side of the platform to show us which train. Amazing experience, wonderfully kind family. Can't wait for next year!

Love in Cortona

Fantastic experience, Mateo and his family were very accommodating. A great space with plenty of room for 2 or 4. Daily breakfasts where lovely and the view spectacular. The pictures do not justify this apartment. A 7-10 minute walk uphill to the center of Cortona. Thank you family Paci.

Beautiful view & cute accompdations. Had to pay extra for air condioning (only place that charged for this) Host was helpful with a ride to bus station. We opted ti give her 4 Euro to compensate her. Relaxing place to stay & fairly close to oldctown Cortona. The walk there was mostly uphill & in the heat, it proved quite challenging. Dudnt appear to be any nearby public transport

Amazing!

Beautiful views, clean apartment. Exactly like the description! About a 7 minute walk into town. Big hill into town, but we went every night. Hosts were kind and welcoming. They picked us up from the train station at arrival and then took us back to the train station at the end of our visit. Would highly recommend and will stay again sometime!

Tuscany treasure

Just returned from a 2+ weeks of vacation in Italy and our time spent in Cortona was wonderful. Mateo was such a great host helping us with directions and suggestions. We booked a cooking class with him and his mom Sabrina and it was the highlight of our trip. Can't wait to try and make Pici. I'm sure it won't be as good as Sabrina's. I highly recommend staying here if ever in this area and can't wait to return one day. You guys are great.

Magnifique vue et emplacement judicieux

Très agréable rez de chaussée dans maison avec une terrasse donnant sur un paysage extraordinaire sur tout le val de chiana jusqu'au lac Trasimène. Tout l'équipement est prévu, très confortable avec une climatisation bienvenue compte tenu de la chaleur exceptionnelle cette année. Un endroit stratégique pour rayonner en Toscane ou Ombrie. Une très bonne disponibilité de Matteo et une proximité avec Cortona, une charmante ville médiévale. Un très bon choix, nous sommes ravis de notre séjour en famille avec nos 2 enfants de 8 et 15 ans.

Glorious setting just below Cortona

What a wonderful, peaceful stay we had at Apartamente Luna in Cortona. The apartment is comfortable and well-equipped. Matteo met us down below Cortona, in Camucia, to escort us to the property. He was gracious and welcoming, and very generous with his time during our stay. We walked into Cortona numerous times, and also enjoyed strolling/hiking through the family’s olive and fruit tree orchards. We felt like we were living in a movie — the setting is gorgeous! We would stay again and if you have the chance, you should too!

This a wonderful place to explore Tuscany and Umbria. Day trips to Florence, Siena, Assisi, Perugia and the Tuscan hill towns are all easy, and the walk into Cortona is short, although a bit steep. The owner's family couldn't have been more gracious and helpful--with homemade cakes, a drive to show us the local supermarket, restaurant arrangements, and great advice and information about the area. The apartment was spacious for the three of us, charming, and well equipped with modern appliances and kitchenware. It is accessed down a short but narrow road with tight turns (not for huge vehicles or uneasy drivers), but once there, the apartment is ideal for exploring a charming town and the beautiful, historically and culturally rich surrounding region.

The house is amazing. It's very spacious and warm in every little detail. You feel like home and you just don't want to leave! It's very comfortable and fully equipped. It has a incredible view and a great outside area. It's 5 min walk from Cortona center, and even carrying two babies it was very easy for us to reach city center. Cortona itself is amazing, our favorite town in Tuscany, full of character and without the annoying tourist buzz of other towns. The owners are lovely and welcomed us as if we were family. We loved our stay and strongly recommend the experience!

We loved the place! It was a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with a large kitchen & drawing room in the ground floor of a nice house situated on a hill right under the ancient and beautiful town of Cortona and above a beautiful valley and a magnificent church. The hosts were most friendly and helpful, and the place and the whole area around the house are peerless. We would certainly come again.

A gem in Cortona! Our first visit to Appartamento Luna, but we certainly hope to return. We were accompanied by our daughter and her partner, and all agreed that this is a marvellous place to stay. The view from the terrace just outside our apartment of the Valdichiana and Lake Trasimeno, with the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in the foreground, was superb and it was a perfect place for al fresco meals. Booking is through an agency who were good to deal with, and we were welcomed with such warm hospitality by the family who own Luna. Our apartment on the ground floor was very comfortable and well equipped - and always cool despite the Tuscan summer! We could walk up the old roman road (a bit of a steep climb!) to Cortona and explore the Tuscan countryside and hillside towns. Just wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect place to stay when visiting Cortona. A steep walk into the town but lovely to enjoy the fantastic view from the outside seating area. Matteo and Sabrina and Luna were welcoming and gracious hosts, the apartment is well equipped and charming. Matteo booked us a table at his cousin's restaurant which turned out to be one of the best in Cortona. Would definitely stay here again.
