I will start off my review by saying that I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone. I, along with my sisters and mother, enjoyed it so much that I know I will return some day. We all said that.
First, prior to our stay, Mirko was very good with communication and answering any questions that I had. This was the only property in all my stays in Italy that we knew exactly where to go, where to park, who to talk to, etc. This was my first time to Italy so that type of information is highly important and extremely helpful when you are navigating on your own.
When my sisters, mother and I arrived into the cute town of Cortona, we were greeted by Vanna, Mirko's mother. Right away she was very warm, friendly and welcoming. Although she said her English was not the best, we were all very impressed with her communication with us. She took us into the home and showed us around the apartment. The place is beautiful and exactly what you see in the photographs. Very clean, updated, tastefully decorated and the views from the large terrace are amazing. She also had a bottle of wine for us as a welcome gift. This was the perfect place after the hustle and bustle of Rome.
We stayed 3 nights and we all said we could have stayed longer. It's a perfect location to do day trips to places such as Montepulciano (which I highly recommend), Assisi, Siena, etc. Cortona itself is very nice & quaint and a place to explore as well. Excellent restaurants and shops.
Another must and probably the highlight of our entire trip, is the cooking class that you can take with Vanna. It is worth every penny for this private lesson that she gives in her own kitchen and then you enjoy eating the amazing food along with her after you are done. It was so much fun and highly enjoyable. We LOVE Vanna!! Amazing cook and wonderful host! Molto bene!!!
Many thanks to Mirko and Vanna for providing such a beautiful place and a memorable experience to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. We look forward to our return some day.
