Thank you for your kind words. We are delighted to know how much you enjoyed your stay. The past year has given us time to make some changes to the house and the garden has been a labour of love during the Covid lockdown. It has been designed not just for colour, but with wild life in mind. The butterflies were born and raised in the garden and we hope they will be a feature for much of the year.

Hello Geoff, I am sorry that the villa did not meet your requirements. In our description of the villa we do not describe the villa as luxury, we use the word comfortable and most of our guests have agreed with that description. We also do not charge luxury prices! Our garden is unique in Las Coloradas and it is one of the reasons we have guests who return year after year. We ask guests to use the pool cover at night. You do not mention that an emergency at home meant that you had to cut your holiday short after a couple of days. You only told our caretaker and have not contacted me personally. Had you been able to stay longer you might have enjoyed your stay a lot more.

Thank you for your kind comments. We try to treat our guests as we would like to be treated ourselves and are very lucky to have such good people looking after the villa for us. We were pleased that circumstances allowed for your earlier arrival, it is never easy travelling with young children.

Thank you for agreeing that the description is accurate. We make clear that Casa Alainda is a comfortable and loved family home, not a luxury, rental only villa and we believe that is reflected in the pricing. Previously we have had 25 reviews on VRBO, 23 of them 5 star and 2 have been 4 star. We have achieved this by doing everything we can to accommodate our guests' needs and by quickly solving any problems which may arise, be they concerning housekeeping, equipment or anything else. Guests have my personal e-mail address and our caretaker's phone number. You did not contact either of us with your problems during your stay, if you had your problems would have been dealt with promptly. With a garden such as ours leaves will blow into the pool. It is thoroughly cleaned once a week and was cleaned on the morning of your arrival. A pool debris net is provided for leaf collection. You did not ask for the pool to be cleaned during your week in the villa, had you asked it would have been done. You point out that the garden makes the villa unsuitable for children but, for safety, our house rules (see above) clearly state that young people under 13 can not be accommodated. This has been our policy for some time, even before we developed the garden. Finally, the barbeque which is traditional, old and has been repaired by a local blacksmith. It is solid and functional and does not blow around in high winds as light, modern ones do. Previous guests have even asked us not to replace it as it performs so well. And as for the barbeque tools , a full set of tools hangs on the wall of the utility room, but apparently you were not able to find them. Had you contacted me that would not have been a problem and perhaps you might have enjoyed your stay a little more.
