Great villa, albeit not perfect

Spacious house, with various 'living rooms' that various family members could spread out into (one with TV, one with billiards, one at pool level). The bedrooms each seemed to be roughly the same size, with ensuite bathrooms and small balconies. Not brand new, but everything was functioning fine. Yard is well maintained. The pool is great. The private dock is stunning. Plenty of privacy in quiet neighborhood. The private dock is a unique bonus, but for those with children probably keep an eye on them when down there as the lower part may be a bit slippery after it rains. Property managers were super friendly. The only downside of the property is that an industrial zone is somewhat nearby (you wouldn't see it from the house unless you stretched your neck from the back left corner in that direction). It's more that the drive to the neighborhood is less visually appealing than say on the west or north sides of the island. Nevertheless we much preferred this location than to the busier areas around Funchal, which you could drive to. And, to be clear, the actual views (from the balconies and poolside) of the sea and Ponta de Sao Lourenco are stunning.

Better than we could habe imagined!

We are a group of 9 adults and 2 toddlers that stayed in this incredible villa for a week and it looks even better in real life than on the pictures! It is located quietly directly on the seaside and yet in only some minutes drive all the necessities can be found. The house is very spacious and each bedroom has its own ensuite (the beds are quite small for two adults though). There is a huge living room and the outside garden with the very large pool and the incredible views over the sea is just unbeatable! The communication with the agency was very good and even when there was a mixup with a doublebooking they were very helpful! Thanks to Cecilia and her team, it was a holiday that we will never forget!

In CR07's footsteps

We stayed for 10 nights as a family of four in this beautiful house with its magical front line sea views. Only upon check-in did we learn that Cristiano Ronaldo had rented it during lockdown. Turns out there are ample international boulevard press articles about it. And we could really see why even a global superstar would be drawn to it. Super spacious, lots of separate areas inside and out, the Madeiran rarity of an actual flat and proper sized garden, great 17m pool ideal for serious swimming (though best to bring a wetsuit in October), completely private and not overlooked at all, BBQ and separate romantic campfire pit which the children absolutely loved, and best of all direct private sea access and front line ocean views to dream about for a long time. I was even inspired to imitate CR07's sprint exercises up the steep drive... The four of us fell in love with the property and will very happily look to return.

Great villa with lots of space, too bad the kitchen is tiny in comparison with the rest. The pool is woth ocean water which makes it a great compromise as Madeira is not full of nice sandy beaches. Would recommend

Very nice propert with a great see view!

Very nice house, pool and garden with a great see view. Close to a beach. Unfortunately it was cloudy with rain most days on this side of the island when we were there. Drove to Funchal where there was super sunny and great weather.

Enchanting and extremely relaxing.

The villa was a bit removed from the usual tourist attractions one would expect in other locales such as Funchal, Canico, or Riberia Brava, which was exactly what our group was looking for. To really appreciate the variety and breathtaking landscape of the island, one either needs an automobile or some mastery of the public transportation (which is fairly obiquitous). Nearby towns of Canical and Machico provide ample sources of dining, food and other shopping along with attractions and some interesting history. When polled, all of our party agreed if we were to return to Madeira, Vil Mar would be our first choice for accommodations. Many thanks to Cecilia and the good folks at AYS.

The villa blew us all away,absolutely loved it. More than met our expectations,an amazing swimming pool and beautiful garden. Had all the facilities we needed and more and plenty of pool towels which was brilliant.Had a wonderful time. The service from was AYS was great.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

a place to go!

While some of you may think that Madeira is a place for "old" people, it cannot be more wrong! Madeira is a family destination where people are nice, warm and very customer service orientated! We were blessed by the weather. We stayed at the Vila Mar, a stunning place, peaceful with ample rooms so you never feel on top of each other. We went 3 couples and 4 babies and experienced a couple of night with some delight from Alex "our" chef ... priceless! The view from this place is stunning. The property is managed by AYS Madeira and we could nt hope for a better service! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Thanks to Cecilia, Alan, Alex, Carlos for making our stay a very special one! We will be back!
