The cabin combines rustic charm with comfort and technical amenities. The construction features natural wood, stamped concrete floors, deck chairs and a lovely tract of meadowland with lots of birds and wildlife. Everything works - the shower (good pressure and great soaps and shampoo), all the lights, well-equipped kitchen, convenient doorlock, xtra blankets, the internet, the stove, the thermostat with AC and heating, the washer and dryer, the clothesline (my cottons dried in hours). The ride to Brevard is short (10 min) and scenic; DuPont St. Rec. Area also an easy drive (see High Falls!). JR was a most gracious host - provided good coffee and coffee maker, olive oil, spices, and other gifts. Nearby road up the hill is not audible inside the cabin. I hope the cabin is available next time I am in town! Thank you, JR!

Great base camp for days of hiking Pisgah and Dupont State Forests! The cabin was cozy, the shower was amazing after the rainy hikes! Hawg Wild BBQ was amazing as was The Square Root. Host was very nice and helpful. We couldn't get in but they updated the code and we got in. There was no firewood except for a few logs but the host said we could go get a bundle off the other cabins porch. There is a chunk of cement in front on the step up to the front porch that is not good. I almost fell on it. The second bedrooms mattress is not great. Don't sit.on the edge of the bed or.it will flip up. In the master when I was plugging in my phone charger it was very dirty. We brought frozen pizzas, I did find a cookie sheet and a pizza pan but it all had to be washed before using. The knives would not cut a thin crust pizza so we had to use scissors but it worked. The floors need to be mopped. It was close to waterfalls, grocery and restaurant. I am not trying to give a bad review because the host was so nice and maybe my idea of clean is different but reviews are done for a reason.

We are sorry this guest had a negative experience at our cabin, as we take pride in 5-star reviews and customer satisfaction. The Door code issue was resolved within 1 minute once the guest notified us of the problem. We apologized for our error. As for the bed, we were not aware of this issue until a week after this guest departed and we read their review. An inspection of the bed revealed a slat had been moved to a position that caused the bottom of the bed to be a little unstable. This was corrected immediately upon discovery. As for the knives, again we were not aware of an issue. New knives have since been purchased and are in the cabin. As for the steps, the entry way is designed and approved by NC Building code as all of the construction at the cabin. We did find and remove a small stone on the entry path of the home. We assure guests the floors are vacuumed and mopped between every guest for this cabin. We did inspect the outlets after this guest departed. One outlet was found to be dusty and that has been addressed. We feel confident all of this guest's issues could have been resolved in a short amount of time had they contacted or communicated concerns. We encourage potential guests to review all the great reviews of our cabin before booking.

Most adorable cabin

This place is precious and very well appointed. I thought the queen bed was comfy too. I loved the space-saving details and the natural decorations. It also has great water pressure in the shower. The bike wash and ev charging we didn’t use, but I loved that they were available.

Great overnight stop after river trip.

This was the perfect spot to stop for the night. Would love to come back and spend several days. This trip we were looking for a place to stay after canoeing on the French Broad River. It was perfect. Love all of the little touches. Thanks. We hope to return and will definitely recommend it.
