Great location

Perfect location. Short beautiful walk into town. Steps away from La Madera beach and short walk to pier. Leo and Sylvia were great. Flawless stay.

PERFECT

We had the best time (group of 5). Leo the home host made us feel so safe and welcomed. His wife made us dinner the first night (amazing) and anything else we needed he was there to help with. I could not recommend this place more.

Wonderful house and location

Just steps from the beach and a short walk into town. Our family of four loved hanging out at the pool - a great place to chill all day or base camp for short trips. Away from the busier beaches and town but everything is accessible when we wanted to go out and explore. Leo was hugely helpful with dining recommendations, taxis, and looking out for our crew. We would 100% come back. Do not miss the Pozole Verde at Santa Prisca Pozoleria on Thursdays.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!

We had a group of 4 couples. This property is absolutely breathtaking! The communication from the owner was awesome and all my questions were answered quickly. We asked to have a van pick us up and that was perfect with no issues at all. We were greeted by Leo, the house manager and what a gem he is!! He helped us with everything we needed or asked for. He went to the market with us to make sure we got the best deals and showed us around the area. He walked with us when we booked a snorkeling tour and made sure we knew where to go. Him and his family live on site but it is no issue at all. Leo goes to the bakery every morning and brings back fresh pastries and he puts out a platter of fresh fruit EVERY DAY!! He also makes the coffee for us EVERY MORNING!! We asked his wife, Sylvia if she would cook us a dinner one night. You have to do this!!! The meal was one of the best meals we had! It was homemade tortilla soup, red snapper on a bed of potatoes and leeks, carrots and asparagus and a homemade key lime pie. Leo even served all of us!! The property has a beautiful pool which we loved so much. The second level are the 4 bedrooms which were perfect. The 3rd level is all open palapa style and is HUGE. The kitchen is there with a huge sectional and 2 hanging hammocks to enjoy. We felt very safe here. There are several restaurants within walking distance and the downtown busy area is walkable as well. We are already planning to come back next year!!!!

Best Location on La Madera!

The property met all of our needs. Great security, perfect access to the beach and all of the shops and restaurants of Zihua. Plenty of on-site space for many guests. Leo was always available to ensure that guests received whatever they wanted or needed. Every time we needed transportation, food, drink or laundry, Leo was happy to accommodate. We would be happy to stay at this property again in the future.

La Madera

We stayed here for 5 days. Great location. The kitchen wasn’t great, could use an update. The patio/ pool deck chairs should be up dated and upgraded , some are need of repair. As for the pool, I did not see it cleaned and the water was murky and warm. Found this place slightly disappointing for the price we paid. The view is beautiful though.

Lovely spot for a family holiday

Wonderful house in a perfect location with a spectacular view. La Madera beach is a blue-flag beach and was spotlessly clean--two minutes walk from the house with a sandy bottom and small waves perfect for children. Caretaker and his family are attentive and helpful. We went shopping with Leo nearly every day at the public market as our family likes to cook and it's easier than taking a bunch of little kids to a restaurant. It's also a short walk to the Soriano grocery store and to liquor stores. Leo made coffee every morning from the owner's estate, which was wonderful. He also prepared a continental breakfast but it lacked variety. Lovely pool. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. Main criticisms are 1) we were promised laundry service every other day but instead had to purchase it--a place this costly needs to have a washing machine; 2) the kitchen pots and pans are a mish mash--someone needs to go through the stuff and throw out the broken pieces and equip it properly. 3)The poolside chaises and chairs and umbrellas need to be replaced and enough provided to handle the number of guests. The Zihua city government gets 5-stars for its effort to provide a clean and safe environment for guests.

AMAZING VIEWS!

The on-site manager Leo was off the charts GREAT! We loved the location! So close to town but quiet and so private once you enter the gate. The pool furniture could be updated. King beds would be so nice. We had Leo’s wife cook twice for us. She was a world class cook. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home.

Spectacular Stay in Zihua

We chose Zihuatanejo this year for our annual Girl’s Trip. The beaches are wonderful, the city is beautiful and clean, and our stay at Casa Arrullo was spectacular. So glad we found this home because we all agree that the location and amenities of this home are what made this trip so memorable. Our host, Gaby, was very informative and helped provide us with all of the property info that we needed. Sylvia’s cooking was super delicious. Leo was fantastic and we so grateful for all that he did! He got groceries for us, showed us around town, made transportation arrangements for us, made recommendations, but most importantly, made us feel safe and taken care of. The house, though, is the gem. What a beautiful home! We loved the infinity pool, the gorgeous view and sunsets, the sound of the waves crashing, and the ocean a few feet away. We will definitely be returning to Zihua and this will be where we’ll always want to stay!

Teen family friendly

I cannot say enough. The owner and the manager were excellent communicators and understanding of minor issues. The property was gorgeous and comfortable. But Cook was very good and the manager was a special help and guide in town. We trust him and plan to do again.

Wonderful Relaxing Stay

Our stay at Casa Arrullo was wonderful and so relaxing with it's private pool and beautiful view. Leo was attentive, generous and always available for anything we needed; transport, reservations, shopping, recommendations etc. Sylvia prepared several delicious meals for us and a lovely breakfast on our departure day. She's an excellent cook! We look forward to returning to Zihua and Casa Arrullo. Muchas gracias! Highly recommend!

Best location.

Leo and Sylvia are the best humans around. They were absolutely wonderful. The house is amazing and pool is great.

Fabulous stay at Casa Arrullo

Our family had an awesome time at Casa Arrullo. The house is situated right above Playa Madera with direct beach access - we were able to walk down and swim every day and walk the promenade at night to town for dinner and shopping. Leo and Sylvia were absolutely amazing, taking care of our every need - so helpful with reservations, directions, and navigating the city. We concur that the best meal in town was cooked by Sylvia! We highly recommend Casa Arrullo.

A Perfect House for a Perfect Vacation

Our party of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids) had a wonderful time at Casa Arullo. The view from the house is spectacular, and the pictures don’t even do it justice! We were in awe every time we swam in the pool, ate breakfast, relaxed in bed, etc. The view is great no matter where you are in the house. Silvia and Leo were absolutely wonderful. Silvia cooked us 2 amazingly delicious dinners and breakfast every day. She was so sweet and always smiling. Leo went above and beyond and was friendly, helpful and communicative. He was there for anything we needed help with (he booked us jet skis, went to the market for us, helped us with dinner reservations, etc.). The nightly turn down service and general cleaning during the day was also a plus! The location of the house is great, right on Playa Madera and a short walk to the central downtown area. Also close to Playa La Ropa as well. Gaby was also super communicative and kind during the booking process and before our stay. We couldn’t recommend the house enough. Thank you for a perfect stay.

Amazingly Beautiful Home and location

Our stay was amazing from the moment that we arrived and were greeted by Leo the home caretaker. Leo led our group of 6 to what has to be the most amazing home in Zihua. Unfortunately we were only able to enjoy the crystal clear warm swimming pool and amazing home for 4 days, In the short time there, Leo arranged a fishing trip for my friend and I. In less then 3 hours of fishing we caught and released 1 large sailfish and brought 2 large dorado to the dinner table for an amazing dinner. We are planning to make this an annual event with a minimum of 10 days, Thank you to Gaby our host, Leo my new amigo the caretaker and Silvia our amazing chef.

Incredible place, wonderful stay!

This place is truly paradise!!!! Our family of 8 (4 adults and 4 young adults) had a spectacular stay at this amazing home. The location is unbeatable, you are literally on a huge property overlooking the ocean, with your private swimming pool, huge gathering room, and air conditioned bedrooms. Steps away from one of the area beaches, near several others. Easy walk to town. The onsite staff is there to take care of your needs and they are wonderful. You are free to lounge about all day, or go and explore. The best food in town is made by your private chef, Sylvia. Leo, the caretaker, helps you with anything you can possibly need. The house, and area, have a wonderfully authentic Mexican look and feel, with a great palapa and beautiful design and furnishings. If that is what you are looking for, it's an amazing place. If you are looking for the "American resort" experience, its not for you. The only heads up before booking is that there is a somewhat steep ramp to get into the property, and a spiral staircase inside, so its not the best choice if you have mobility issues. So if you are looking for that truly amazing Mexican place, this is it! Highly recommend it!

Pure heaven here on earth!

This was my15th trip to Ixtapa/Zihua but always stayed in Ixtapa, at one of the big, sterile hotels. After staying at Casa Arullo, we will never stay in Ixtapa again. Upon our arrival, the host, Leo, met us at the street with luggage cart and escorted us to the house, which is a short and beautiful walk on a boardwalk, along the beach/ocean. When we arrived, my oldest son said,"What a gem of a place this is!" Boy was he right... Located right on Playa Madera, with direct access to beach with all the restaurants, shops, conveniences of Zihua within easy walking distance. Several restaurants are located along the boardwalk below the house or a relaxing walk down the beach. However, the best food is right there at Casa Arulla. The gourmet chef, Sylvia, is truly a world class chef! We've eaten at a lot of "fancy" over priced restaurants around the world and none of them compare to the meals we had during our stay at Casa Arrula. Fresh seafood dishes of lobster, shrimp and fish, along with cold and hot soups to die for. What an exquisite, sumptuous, palate experience we had! Not to out do Sylvia but Leo was as good of a host as Sylvia was a chef. Good-natured, funny and a great conversationalist, as well as always being available to assist with our family's needs. Leo was truly the bomb! I can honestly say this was the best family vacation we've ever had and look forward to coming back in the future.

Perfect & Stunning. Wouldn't change a thing!

This was possibly my favorite vacation rental EVER! We were a group of 5 women escaping children, husbands and winter for 5 glorious days. The house more than met our needs and was simply stunning in every way. The open-air upstairs main room was beautiful and gave the feeling of sitting next to the ocean but while private, secluded and comfortable. The sleeping area was perfect as it is two separate wings - each with two bedrooms, one bathroom and sitting area. The 5 of us had plenty of space. The pool area is heavenly and we spent many hours lounging and staring out at the beautiful bay. We even saw a whale jumping in the bay and school of dolphins one day - all from the pool! The location is perfect- you are steps from the ocean, some beach restaurants next door and a short walk down the well-lit boardwalk to get to the town center. We never felt unsafe while walking or in the house. Gaby was super responsive and helpful - arranging transfers on our arrival and coordinating a pre-arrival shopping list of necessities like guacamole and cervezas. Sylvia and Leo at the house are as accessible as you want them to be. We loved them both and by the end of the trip, we had made Leo our honorary Primo - Primo Leo! Sylvia's food was amazing - ask for chiliquilaes for breakfast! Leo was so helpful and kind. He arranged a boat trip for us and walked us down to the dock. We just loved loved loved every detail of this trip and the wonderful house and people. We are all already plotting how to return - with or without families. Gaby - if you ever plan to sell the house, we want first dibs :) Thank you for everything!

Lovely house on a peaceful bay

We loved our week at Casa Arullo. The house worked perfectly for our family group and the main living area is a spectacular place to chill out with a margarita or two. Leo could not have been more helpful. Sylvia was unfortunately unwell so we didn’t try her cooking. In any case, we liked shopping at the market and cooking for ourselves or going out to explore the town. A lovely, relaxed week, in a great house.
