Everything with the property was as advertised. The room was incredibly clean and in the perfect part of town. Communication with the host was super simple and all of the instructions to access the property were incredibly detailed and thorough. We would absolutely stay here again without question.

Ideally Located

Ideally located, easy access for all public transport and sites. Apartment perfect for 2 people with the added bonus of a large balcony. Very comfortable, and friendly staff. Wld defo I rely recommend for a stay in Funchal.

Incredible location

FAA Rentals 31 de Janeiro Penthouse is the best value for your money when it comes to rentals. The apartment has a great wiew of the Ocean, Old Town and the mountains. Great location but not noisy. Most of Funchal sights are 10 minute walk tops. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The online Guest Are offers awesome places, adventures and memories to be.

One night in August

We spent a single night in the apartment due to a delay in the airport. The appartment is on the top floor on a very nice location. The night was quiet -‘s the apartment relaxed. Only negative was the crazy price due to the situation at the airport.

Needs updating

Apartment Location brilliant Terrace great. But Toilet valve leaking and running 24/7 Furnishings stained and need replacing. Bedding stained and needs replacing. Clothes aider rusty and needs replacing. Curtains/sun screens need updating and made easier to operate. The whole apartments needs painting and made over to meet the price being asked. This is only my own honest opinion and hopefully the owners take this on board. It’s easier to keep taking the profits, but you need to sometimes keep things updated and maintained to meet peoples expectations or this get lost. I have got some sympathy with the clearers, they can only use what given to them and this is mostly stained.

Cooles appartement in der Altstadt....

... Alles ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Tolle Dachterrasse. Perfekte Ferienwohnung für den Winter, im Sommer kann es schon recht warm sein in der Wohnung (Dachgeschoss, riesige Fenster). Klima ist aber vorhanden. Wir haben es erneut gebucht.

Good on the big things, poor on basics

This apartment really should get 5 stars, but it lets itself down. Positives first. It is spotless on arrival, it had a superb balcony with great views. The floor to ceiling window/doors onto the balcony from the bedroom and living area make it light and airy. The beds are comfortable. All the appliances are Bosch, all in excellent condition. There is good quality outside furniture, although the cushions need a good clean. Really good location - close to the old town for restaurants, five minutes walk to the supermarket, buses, seafront. Downsides. No-one explained the need for a key to use the lift to the apartment. (Lift opens straight into apartment.) There are no drawers or shelves in the bedroom or bathroom, anything that wasn't suitable for hangers had to be left in the bottom of the wardrobe. There was plenty of room for drawers there. There were no saucepans, no grill pan, no roasting dishes making the excellent cooker ineffective. The wasn't a salad bowl. In reality there wasn't too much in the way of bowls or jugs. We had to ask for some maintenance, which was quickly seen to, but our complaint about the saucepans and so on was not even commented on. The oven set the smoke detector off and the fire alarm sounded which evacuated the building. We had to contact the rental company as no-one came out to reset it. The engineer who came after our call out said it had happened before. The bathroom is poorly ventilated and by the end of our three weeks holiday mould was forming on the shower wall, no cleaning equipment is supplied so it had to remain there. Taking this into account, would we stay there again. The answer is "yes" - the location, balcony, view, its light and airiness predominates.

Excellent séjour dans ce petit cocon

Nous avons passé une semaine dans cet appartement roof-top. Et tout était... au top : équipement, décoration, propreté, accès, vue, sécurité, tranquillité, qualité du Wi-Fi et emplacement, c'était idéal. Situé en plein centre ville, à deux pas de la cathédrale et de la mer, tout près des rues commerçantes et des supermarchés Pingo Doce et Continente, il suffisait de descendre pour profiter des restaurants alentour. Et l'ascenseur privé arrivant directement dans l'appartement, c'est super. Nous avons apprécié de pouvoir effectuer le check-in plusieurs heures à l'avance, merci encore. Nous n'hésiterons pas à réserver à nouveau cet appartement dès que nous retournerons à Funchal, sur cette belle île de Madère, île aux fleurs et à la douceur de vivre.

Penthouse... um engano!

Limpeza zero... uma vergonha! tive eu de ir buscar detergentes de limpeza para que se pudesse tomar duche numa cabine completamente suja. Cortinados dos quartos cheios de nódoas e encardidos, certamente que água é algo que não vêm há muito tempo. Numa altura destas em que todos os cuidados são poucos não se compreende. Também não estava à espera de não ter nenhum (zero) tipo de contato por parte da propriedade a não ser um email a informar o código para abrir a porta mas que foi esquecido de informar que a chave que estava dentro do cofre seria para colocar no interior do elevador para que o mesmo funcionasse, pois conseguíamos subir e descer para todos os pisos menos para aquele em que supostamente estaria o nosso apartamento. De referir que o acesso ao elevador era no interior do alojamento e tinha uma folga na porta de mais de dois dedos, sempre que o elevador funcionava ouvíamos pois "fosso" estava aberto! também a zona do quadro elétrico era um perigo com fios descarnados à mão de qualquer um. Enfim, a não repetir e a aguardar um reembolso pelo serviço de limpeza e compra de produtos! Penthouse um nome que sugere algum conforto extra e afinal foi apenas um engodo....

Perfect for a city break

Bear in mind it is in the city so you will hear the hustle and bustle so individual noise tolerance plays a part. There is no beach in Funchal so the penthouse is perfect for sun lovers, from rise till set its on the terrace😎. Close to cable car and street toboggan which are a must, but its around an hours walk to the lido and tourist areas. The apartment is nice and has everything you need with great views of the ocean, city and mountains, sitting watching the sun go down from the penthouse charges the soul.

Our stay at the 31 January penthouse was good.the apartment was very clean although a bit small.the outside balcony was excellent. With good views. 2 sunloungers would have made it even better. The main complaint I have is that there is nowhere to store luggage whilst waiting for airport pickup. We were told to take our luggage to the offices on Rua Merces. Which is 15 minutes walk away. The day before we were due to leave we phoned the offices to see what time we could bring our cases the following day and we're told that the offices would be closed all day due to a public holiday.this would have left us stranded at the offices with nowhere to leave our luggage.it was only by Sheer luck that we found out about this. Your staff changed our taxi pickup to Rua Merces on a day when they should have known the offices would be closed. This caused us a lot of stress due to having to make an emergecy telephone call at the last minute to change the pickup point yet again.
