I liked the easy location to the town, quiet and peaceful setting near the river with the picturesque park within easy reach. Overall we had an enjoyable stay and would return in the future. The only niggles were the television was a bit dated, the heating was a bit hit and miss and parking could be a bit tight. Other than that everything was good.

Fabulous unit with a balcony that is right over the river

We had our coffee and tea every morning on the little balcony over the river. It was fabulous to see the park and all of the activity going on over there, especially all of the dogs. There is a laundry place right near by where we dropped off our clothes and they were washed and folded in just a few hours. Everything in town is just a short walk away. One note though - pay careful attention to the directions. There was another place with a very similar address that was just a short distance away that we went to accidentally. The white fence described in the directions is now silver. We had to reach out to the management team because we thought the lock wasn't working properly. However, someone came out quickly and helped us figure out we were in the wrong place.

Fantastic little ground floor flat with balcony overlooking the River. Compact and very functional with good quality furnishings and equipment. Two of us stayed for 3 nights under Covid Tier 2 restrictions, so did some home cooking and were able to relax. Would reccomend and return. We visit Keswick every year and sometimes twice a year if we can so we know the place very well. On the plus side this is a great location and the balcony over the river makes it even more special. Parking is another huge bonus which we are not used to when staying in Keswick. As others have mentioned it is small/cosy but we were expecting that and for the two of us it was fine but I don't know how it would work if there were four people. The kitchen is small but quite adequate for two but please note there is no washing machine, although the launderette is only 2 min walk if you want to wash/dry your walking gear etc. As others have mentioned there are additional chairs in the property to accommodate four people which are a nuisance in a small space if there are only two of you. Somebody previously commented about the settee being uncomfortable. I myself didn't mind but my wife was not as happy, but a sofa bed is never going to be as comfortable as a sofa just designed to sit on so again trying to accommodate four people is letting the place down. The mattress on the bed would also benefit from a mattress topper or a new mattress. Storage in the bedroom is great for two but I don't know where they expect other guests to store clothes etc for a weeks walking holiday. We would have appreciated a coffee table in front of the sofa to put our drinks on etc while we sat and watched a bit of TV but sadly there isn't one. As previously mentioned on another review the TV is temperamental and could do with updating. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Only problem we had was there was no tray in the grill pan which made a grilled breakfast in morning very difficult. Telly was also flashing a lot why not sure. Thus said would still go again. Fantastic location right in the centre of Keswick but down a nice quite road. The apartment is small as other reviewers have mentioned, but Just big enough for two people for a week. The balcony over the river is a really relaxing place to sit in the evening, or have breakfast in the sun. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. Car parking is also a great benefit. Few small suggestions, a couple of the chairs could perhaps be removed from the lounge, as there are chairs stored in the table already. There are also a couple of items in the kitchen which are a bit worn and could perhaps be replaced, (chopping board and some blunt knives). The mattress is beginning to wear out as you can feel the springs when lying on it, although we still slept pretty well, maybe a padded topper would be a benefit. Always enjoy our stay at Greta Cottages.

Always enjoy our stay at Greta Cottages. The view is terrific ,changing hourly. We love sitting on the balcony watching the river. The local caretaker is very helpful. We had a small problem is working out how to turn on the heating but got there in the end.

I stayed here as a single person and still found the space very constricted. There was no bedside table and no space in the bedroom for my suitcase. There was just room for the one chair by the window, but not room to easily close the curtain because of it! However the whole place was very tastefully decorated and I slept as well as I have slept for a long time, no doubt partly due to the very peaceful location.

Lovely apartment, whilst compact, is big enough for two people. It is well equipped, comfy bed and in a great location with an excellent view over to Latrigg. Keswick is a great location for a walking hol and we plan to book this apartment again.

very convenient location. Balcony would have been lovely in warmer weather. Bedroom very small and we found lack of any bedside table very inconvenient, especially as we both wear glasses and had nowhere to put them. Wall heaters were lovely and warm when on but would have liked to be able to programme them to go off and night but be on again when we got up.
