We had a wonderful relaxing time at Stellar J. Josh was very accommodating when we had a last minute scheduling request. The cabin is very cozy and just a short walk to the village. The kitchen is well stocked (sharp knives would have been great), so if you like cooking like we do, it's perfect. Thanks Josh. We will definitely return.

Fantastic cabin. All you need and nothing you don't. As was acknowledged, keep in mind there is a very short snowy approach in and out of the front door, so pack accordingly! It was awesome and will look forward to returning.

Cozy cabin in the wood

Very comfortable cabin in wooded area close to Silver Star village. Great location, quiet and private but easy walk to village and ski trails. Highly recommend, hot tub was deluxe!

Perfect white Christmas

We had the most magical white Christmas at the Stellar J cabin. It was our first time at Silver Star and everything about our stay was perfect. We absolutely loved the location of the cabin tucked in amongst the trees yet only a two minute walk into the village and the slopes. The hot tub on the deck was our favourite. All in all we did not want to leave and a week was not long enough!

Hidden Gem

The Stellar J is the perfect ski cabin. It is full of character, good furniture, layout, and has everything that you need for a comfortable stay. Because it is away from the road it is extremely quiet and peaceful, yet very close and convenient access to Silverstar village.

A true ski cabin gem!

This place will not disappoint if you are looking for a true ski cabin-- without sacrificing a thing! So comfy and cozy with all the comforts one needs to relax and enjoy being on the mountain. Loved the furniture and furnishings --truly fit in to the whole mountain cabin scene. It felt like a home away from home. Skiing, hottub and snowplay for kids and adults alike --right out the door! Loved the heated boot room--a definite plus for all the snowy gear coming in. Nothing was overlooked--they have it all here--toboggans, shovels, bbq, extra blankets/pillows, lots of hooks for towels, bathing suits and ski gear, well stocked with towels, toilet paper, basic kitchen supplies like tinfoil, ziplock bags, paper towels, all the cooking appliances, pots, pans, dishes you need (yes, a crock pot too!). Not many places have such a well versed kitchen with all this stuff. Living space was laid out really nice-- cozy but very spacious. Soooo super easy to get to village, tube town and skiing even though you were tucked away in the trees and snow 'away from it all'. We had tons of snow dump and it was still really easy to get our luggage un/loaded via the small jaunt to/from the cabin via the snow path. Super pleasant /easy/prompt/friendly communication with owner, Josh --we even saw him on the mountain skiing and they came by to say hi--super nice! Our family of four (2 adults and 2 younger kids) didn't want to leave! We will be back to stay at this place again! ..and again...and again :)

Rare Gem

Nothing generic about this place! it just oozes character and coziness..it is also very well equipped for those who enjoy cooking..fantastic location but requires a little effort to ski in and ski out..Overall the Stellar J was a wonderful experience for our entire family.

Great place

Great little place, with everything I needed. It was wonderful. I had one small problem and the owner Josh was more than accommodating. It is nice and close to the village, but tucked in the woods for privacy and quiet. Loved it!

Awesome cabibn in the woods

Very comfortable cabin with plenty of details thought by the owners making your stay very enjoyable. The cabin is lost in the woods but very close to village creating a very special moment. Our family of 5 spent a wonderful time in the cabin!

beautiful mountian get away

This property was such a dream to stay at. Clean, cosy and private. We are a family of 4 and we had lots of space. Well equiped kitchen and nice hot tub. Short walk to village and activity centre. This property is actually tucked away in the trees so you walk a short distance along a path to get to it. It was a little tricky bringing all of our belongings in upon arrival but totally worth it to stay in this secluded little retreat. We look forward to staying here again soon!

Convenient, clean, and cozy!

We like to cook so it was nice to have a well equipped kitchen! Hot tub was the kids favourite! Nicely located to the village and Nordic skiing for us! Snow each night made for beautiful morning ski. We loved our silver star vacation and lots of kid friendly activities.

Cozy cabin & intentional accomidation

the mud room is a superb to keeping the house warm and clean. space is very easy to use. well stocked kitchen. would recommend shoes with good traction or traction spikes for your shoes to get to/from the cabin on the trail, it can get quite slick.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

The Stellar J is the culmination of many years of enjoyment of Silver Star Mountain Resort by our family. Home for us is in the Fraser Valley of BC, and as such we have been fortunate to ski and ride most of the mountains of BC and the Alberta Rockies, as well as many hills in the US Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountains. Without a doubt, Silver Star is our favorite! With 3 skiers, and 4 boarders, Silver Star has terrain and difficulty that has suited us throughout our development as a ski/boarding family. For most of the last 20 years we have taken our winter vacation here, and as such we have stayed in many different locations. In 2010 we were fortunate enough to be able to purchase the Stellar J from the original owners... almost 50 years in the same family! The last 6 months of 2010 were spent renovating this timeless wonder to what we think is one of the true gems of Silver Star. Hopefully you will agree with us that the Stellar J is a compilation of all of the finest of what we have enjoyed in on-mountain lodging.

Oh, and ski in/ski out means your car can stay parked in the lot below collecting snow for the duration of your holiday. Kids can play outside the front door on our huge lot, while you sit in the hot tub with your favorite beverage in hand.... Does it get better?
