Thanks for taking the time to review my property. Great to hear you enjoyed your stay and the garden in particular, even if I couldn't accommodate as early a check in as you requested. I'm sorry that there happened to be some garden work in the neighborhood (and unfortunately I didn't have any control over the noise).

This review came as a total shock for me. I have been a premier host for quite some time and my priority is to make sure that guests feel welcome in a clean, safe and secure environment, which is what earned me that status. The house gets cleaned and sanitized from top to bottom prior to each check in, including pillows and blankets, signing the pool liability waiver is standard policy, the separate entrance unit is reserved for my use and storage of personal items. It is not included in rental which is clearly mentioned in description as are also my policies. Actually I can’t say the guest and his mother treated my house with respect at all: the house was left quite dirty and required extra time to clean, the guest neglected to report that they had damaged a couple of items (an armchair and a sliding door) and also neglected to respect clearly stated house rules regarding having over extra guests. Not sure why this guest relished in telling so many lies (sofa pillows instead of bed pillows?) and painted such a displeasing, insulting picture. I’m always eager to learn from guests’ feedback. In this case I can’t say I received any constructive criticism, especially from a fellow-host. In my several years of being a 5 star host (not only for this platform), I found that often guests who behave poorly are also those that turn out to rate the worst, no matter how much a host tries to accommodate them. Even if it’s quite discouraging to run into these hosting experiences, of course I will continue to do my best in order to offer my guests the best stay at my place.

Very sorry to learn that guest’s experience wasn’t satisfactory though my policies, house lay-out, amenities, extra costs are all clearly posted in description. Before accepting, I double-checked, among other things, if booking a two-story house was a good choice for his group. I have to say communication was quite challenging. At a certain point I asked Vrbo for assistance and even offered guest option to cancel booking well ahead of his arrival with no penalty. Now, reading the negative review he left I’m sadly discovering that my efforts to satisfy guest’s expectations as best as I could (I set up a smoking area for him, grandma and mom, even if this is a no-smoking place, provided amenities not normally included, offered to heat up spa at no cost) were unsuccessful.

Great to host Chad and his co-workers. I appreciated his flexibility with time frame. I'm glad we were able to make it happen and hope to host him again in the future.
