The villa was as beautiful as pictured on vrbo. The setting in the hills was gorgeous and landscaped with amazing flowers and plants. The chefs were very friendly and not only was the food incredible every day but it was displayed elegantly. The house was cleaned daily, beds were comfortable, the showers inside and out were great and the property manager arranged all of our excursions with guides to meet us at each stop. We were so spoiled!! Our driver was prompt and so kind and every moment was absolutely PERFECT.

Beautiful spot

The house is wonderful and the staff were truly wonderfully. All the rooms and the house and the property were exactly what my family wanted. The staff were extremely helpful and the house and property was just beautiful. Would highly recommend staying here.

Amazing week!

We stayed here for my dad’s 70th birthday and couldn’t have enjoyed our experience more! House was stunning and even more beautiful than the pictures. Rambo, Angie, Armando and Edgar was so helpful for the entire stay. Highly recommend!

Awesome stay at Vista del Fuego

Our stay in Costa Rica at Vista del Fuego could not have been better. From the 5 star accommodations, to award winning meals prepared by Chef Rambo, wonderfully maintained by Angie and immaculate grounds kept by Armando. Our party of ten consisting of five couples had plenty of room to spread out and we all thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and infinity pool. We are already planning our next trip.

Great place to stay in Costa Rica

A group of 5 couples just spent a week at Vista del Fuego and found it to be everything we wanted/expected. Plenty of room for us and very comfortable. We had breakfast every morning with a wonderful view of the ocean prepared by Rambo, the chef/concierge. Highly recommend staying at Vista del Fuego and securing the services of Rambo. He made everything easy and prepared some wonderful meals

Best Family Vacation

There were 11 of us. We loved the house and Rambo our concierge and chef. Rambo knew everything about the area including contacts with the different excursions near VDF. Without him, we would have struggled to know where to go, where to park if we had gotten our own van, etc. Whether we were out and about or stayed at the house, we loved every minute!

Beautiful Home

Peaceful luxury amongst rustic natural Costa Rican setting. Good Value. Pool is smaller than it looks online but wonderful. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star was because the TV and Clothes Dryer were broken. Thanks for your hospitality.

I want to take the opportunity to address your concerns so that others know we are addressing these issues. 1. Yes, the pool is small. We think so too!! That is why, beginning mid-March, we are breaking ground on a 2000+ sf infinity pool complex that will include; a large covered Mediterranean Style cabana with swim-up bar, grill, sink, refrigerator and plenty of space to prepare meals, in-pool loungers, expansive IPE wood deck, outdoor shower and many other amenities. The pool complex will be completed mid-August!!! 2. As recent homeowners in Costa Rica, we were not prepared for the power surges that "fry" large appliances. We are taking immediate action to supply the entire house with state-of-the-art surge protectors so this will not happen again. It is our goal to provide the "perfect" vacation spot for those who have sacrificed and saved for a vacation. Thank you potential guests for reading our response. Although we cannot guarantee that nothing will go wrong, we do guarantee that we will address each and every problem as quickly as possible. Diane and Chris

Absolute PERFECT Vacation in Paradise!

Our experience at VDF was an absolute dream! The house was amazing, the grounds were lush, well cared for and beautiful but the pool was FANTASTIC but the most memorable part of our stay was the staff. Diego (Chef) Thais (Sous Chef) Armando (Maintenance/Groundskeeper) and Angie (Housekeeper) and Rambo (Concierge/Property Manager). We will never forget their kindness, hard work, DELICIOUS food and the unforgettable memories they provided our family and friends with. All in all - it was the PERFECT vacation!

Trip of a lifetime

We were a group of 9 with ages ranging from 14-75. This property and location had something for everyone. The view is amazing, the support staff and cooking by Rambo was the best. I would recommend taking advantage of using a driver. The road to the home is very steep and without a 4 x 4 impossible. White water rafting was our favorite activity.

Absolute Perfection!!!

The property is even more amazing than it looks in the pictures. The view is breathtaking, the house is immaculate, the staff felt like family by the time we left. It was a perfect vacation! I highly recommend choosing the personal chef service, Chef Rambo coordinated all our excursions, rides, reservations and prepared a killer breakfast and dinner everyday. I cannot wait to come back, we are already discussing when we can return! Thank you to Diane Dalton, the property owner, for always being available to answer any questions and making us feel so welcome! Pura Vida!!!!

Gorgeous secluded property with amazing service

Owners are communicative and SO helpful as is the Concierge/Chef. We had the best experience from pre-planning to the last minute. If there was any need, Rambo, our Concierge found a way to be one step ahead of us and help with everything. Nothing could be better. Only advice is to get the best 4x4 car as the road to this amazing property is an adventure in itself. But all great. Would definitely come back! Thanks Diane and Rambo!

Week long stay

Wonderful time for our group of 8 at this superb property! The facility/amenities were true to the VRBO description, but the view was even better than described! Rambo was a very attentive concierge and an even better cook, and the cleaning and property maintenance staff did their jobs well. We had a bit of a problem with the water supply, but Rambo and Armand were quick to resolve the issue (dry season related). The property was even better than pics! Truly paradise. Perfect for our family vacation.

Would love to return! Owner very easy to contact if needed and the concierge (Rambo who is also 5 star chef) was very responsive. Felt very safe. We did a lot of activities that Rambo coordinated seamlessly. Would highly recommend having some meals prepared by Rambo. Each meal was excellent!! Angie made sure the house was clean each day and her husband Amando took wonderful care of the grounds and pool. All pristine. Plus all the staff were so kind, friendly and went above and beyond to make our family vacation perfect! We are very grateful. No hesitation here…..Book it without worry. The Property was absolutely amazing...The views were fantastic.

The House was very clean, and the pictures were extremely accurate. The views were amazing, and it was so quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay. Rambo (Our Concierge) was very hospitable and helpful. He met us in town to help us get to the house. To get to the house a 4x4 is highly recommended, and the drive from the main road is quite lengthy, but the location makes it worth it. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of glasses and flat ware, and all the appliances worked. The home has a washer and dryer which was very much appreciated. The room with the pool table has the most incredible panoramic views. Most importantly, the WIFI worked flawlessly. Strongly recommend this house for families that want Costa Rica.

Awesome view, made for relaxing.

Our vacation was awesome, facilitated by very mindful hosts. Thank you Dianne, Rambo, Angie, and Armand (and their adorable pets). View was spectacular, sunrise/sunsets were unbelievable, and the only "noise" came from the birds. Spending time at the pool and hot tub, well you get it. Some of my family got to see a mamma sloth and her baby! The only complaint (for some of my family) was that the home was situated high above a mountain (thus the spectacular views) requiring a 10 minute ride on a very bumpy road to get to any where. That's why a 4X4 Jeep is a must. I missed the adventure! We had a truly enjoyable time!

The Ultimate Pura Vida Experience

Our family can’t imagine any other way to enjoy Pura Vida than a stay at Vista Del Fuego. Diane and her team are truly exceptional and help create the perfect Costa Rican experience. We couldn’t imagine the trip without the planning help of Diane and Rambo. Not only is Rambo an exceptional planner but he is also an exceptional cook. He was incredibly helpful in organizing adventures that are uniquely local and create lifelong memories. His cooking partner Diego was excellent and together created delicious meals for the entire stay. The property is amazing and Armando and Angie were gracious hosts and ensured the property is always in 5-Star condition. We would absolutely return and have recommended the experience to friends who are interested in experiencing the beauty and fun of Costa Rica.

Amazing property in Costa Rica

This was our first time in Costa Rica and so fortunate to hit a home run on our first stay - the booking process was easy, Sharon was AMAZING to deal with. Great customer service. She sent precise directions, and more importantly a great list of recommendations. Loved her restaurant picks, her zip lining suggestion blew us away, and her other suggested day trips (sea caves, water falls, etc) were spot on. The house is an amazing property backing up to the jungle. Clean, comfortable, and with a ton of linens, it had everything we needed, including a great neighbor down the road who ensured that our stay was a great one. Modern appliances, and all the amenities of home, this house is truly a luxury property located in the best part of Costa Rica. Five star plus! We hope to be back soon!

Vacation At Vista Del Fuego

BEAUTIFUL HOME, GREAT SETTING, TREMENDOUS VIEWS, PEACEFUL AND SECLUDED. The grounds were well groomed and maintained. Amando was extremely kind and helpful. Home was very clean and comfortable, nicely decorated. Plenty of towels and other amenities that made the stay wonderful. Rambo's assistance in booking activities was very helpful. The house was cleaned well each day. Beautiful beaches were nearby. The activities we chose were Ziplining, waterfall repelling, rafting, and hiking the Nauyaca Falls. Each was a fun filled day with great service and beautiful surroundings. Diane, the owner, was fantastic to work with and was in constant contact with me to ensure my group had a pleasant stay and had all the information necessary to make the trip very enjoyable. I would highly recommend the home and vacation to my friends.

Unbeatable Views!

We loved Costa Rica and we loved Vista del Fuego! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left everything was fantastic! Luis picked us up at the airport and was our driver all week long. The drive up and down the mountain was not our favorite part but Luis was an expert and he navigated it well. Rambo coordinated all of our adventures - White Water Rafting, ziplining, waterfall adventures and an amazing sunset ride and snorkeling on a beautiful catamaran. Our favorite was the catamaran - don't miss it! Rambo and Diego cooked all our meals and I would highly recommend arranging the meals to be cooked at the house, you will definitely find it is worth it! Thank you to Angie and Armando as well! On the morning we left for the airport the van got stuck in the driveway and Armando rushed to help and got us on our way! We had a great time and would highly recommend this house and this team of great people!

AMAZING Home and Vacation, HIGHLY Recommend this home!!!!

The home is even nicer than the pictures, this is a beautiful and comfortable home. We had 10 of us and it was plenty of room. If you rent this home, you should hire their Chef/Consigliere Rambo, he is an amazing chef and will arrange for all your excursions or things you would like to do while in Costa Rica. EVERYTHING he arranged for us was perfect and all the meals he prepared were better than any restaurant we could have gone to. Diane the owner will stay in touch with you from the time you reserve to the end of your vacation to assure you have a great time and completely satisfied and trust me, you will be. Diane, Rambo, Diego and the rest of her team made our family vacation wonderfull and my children will have happy memories of Costa Rica the rest of their lives because of them. They love what they do and it shows. If your considering renting a place in Costa Rica, look no more, this is the place to stay. I just hope its not the same time I will be looking to rent when I return. The Zanotti's

The family of 7 had a great time. The grandkids loved the pool and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. The house is beautiful and user friendly. We all had space to enjoy our visit. Everything you could possibly need was there for our use. We loved the surroundings and view. The groundskeeper has an adorable Koati that he found as a baby. He roams the grounds with Armando. Jose the driver is the way to go. He knows where everything is located and can make it up the steep, rocky road. But, the highlight for our family was Rambo the chef. He offers menus to die for and we fell in love with his Gallo Pinto breakfast. Fresh fruit was on the menu every day. I can't say we were surprised by anything. Work with the owner and she will see you through with what you need to know. Pura Vida!

Great place, the best food we've ever had!!

Our experience at Vista del Fuego was excellent. We loved the house and view and can only echo the consistently positive reviews that others have left. However, specifically we would highlight: -Rambo chef/concierge. He went out of his way not only to provide all the stated services along with fresh fruits when we arrived, but also to provide whatever information or services we needed, from the mundane (directions to our fishing tour and grocery store) to the exotic (having Rambo prepare the most delicious meals with our catches!). - The pool and view. Unparalleled and seemingly created for having drinks and watching the sunset. The view is stunning all day and night. - The rooms were clean and modern, beds comfortable, showers great and ACs working very well to cool the entire house. We were 11 men on a deep sea fishing trip and loved the house. Plenty of room for us. The gated security did not seem needed but was highly welcomed all the same. Two things to note: 1) the road/hill is very steep and you must rent a 4x4. The pool is not large but was perfect for our purposes. All in all a great experience! The owner and Rambo communicated before and during our stay to make sure everything was going well. Highly recommend this estate!

To have a resort-quality experience, we must have a wonderful team. We are thrilled that you enjoyed the beauty and adventures that Costa Rica offers. The total plans are more than 2000 sf and will have in-pool loungers, a huge cabana with grill, refrigerator, sink, and plenty of space for outdoor dining and sun bathing. Paradise!

Vista del Fuego is a beautifully maintained house, pool and gardens. It has all of the amenities of an American house but in the jungle of Costa Rica! A 4x4 is a must to get up the mountain but once you pull up the driveway, the view is well worth it. Our family of 12 had plenty of space to spread out on all three levels. But most of the time was spent outside around the expansive pool and deck area. This area is perfectly situated between Manual Antonio to the north and Domincal to the south. Playa Matapalo and Playa Linda are 2 of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen and they are within 10 minutes of the house!!! Rambo is the concierge and chef for hire, which is highly recommend. He helped set up several different excursions for us from zip lining, to horse back riding to a private guide at Manual Antonio National Park. But you MUST hire him and his wife for his chef services. We had several unique allergies that he had to deal with but that did not make a difference. Breakfast and dinner were culinary experiences that everyone looked forward to. You can not go wrong. This is a great house and we will be back!

Fun for all ages!

The house is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Our family (ages 1-62) enjoyed our stay at Vista del Fuego. Diane was responsive to our questions. Diego was an amazing chef and very friendly. So was the chef who assisted him. Rambo’s meals were delicious. Our driver for the week was Luis. He is very kind and our family truly enjoyed meeting him. Angela kept the house very tidy. I would recommend Vista del Fuego. I’ve really struggled with writing this review. We had a few disappointments during the week, mostly related to communication and expectations. Be very clear about what you are requesting and research the companies and excursions yourself. An example was my DIL birthday. We asked for a private catamaran for the day. $2500+ later (after fees, etc) we had a snorkel boat for 2.5 hours. It was frustrating for our family. We had other excursions that didn’t meet our expectations as well. We did enjoy the house and spending time together there. For outings, I definitely wished I had planned our excursions myself.

I recognize that you had a problem with the vendor for the private catamaran and some other excursions. I want you to know that this is the exception and not the rule with the vendors our concierge uses at Vista del Fuego. We purchased this property in 2016 after visiting and falling in love with the beautiful South Pacific of Costa Rica. We could easily picture groups or large families like ours making precious memories here.

We take tremendous pride and joy in providing a "perfect" experience....From the high-quality sheets, towels, and pillows, to the extra amenities that we continue to add each year.

To help this dream become a reality for our guests, we have organized an incredibly experienced, capable and friendly staff to help make your stay at Vista del Fuego perfect. Concierge/Chef Rambo will assist you in planning your ideal vacation. He will book your transportation; whether you want to drive yourself or take advantage of the 16 passenger van that can take you to your daily destinations and/or round-trip airport transfers. He also will book your tours through companies that he has vetted and reputable. Our amazing caretaker Amando keeps the pool cleaned and maintained and the grounds well manicured; while Angie sees that the home remains spotless throughout your stay.

Chef Rambo and his assistant will prepare 5-star meals from their menu or in response to your special request! He is able to accommodate vegetarians, pescatarians, and those who request gluten-free options. Before your arrival, Rambo will work with you to finalize your tours and your menu to fit your budget and culinary preferences.

As we drove up the mountain road and looked upon this beautiful estate, we were entranced! This property has the perfect combination of privacy, security, and accessibility to the regions' best beaches and attractions in the Pacific region. Perched at an elevation of 1500' above the Pacific, the breezes, sunset views, and whitewater views combine into tropical nirvana. The Hills of Portalon is a private 350 acre Eco-development, with just 27 home sites and more than 150 acres dedicated to a rainforest project.

VISTA DEL FUEGO PROVIDES A FULL-SERVICE EXPERIENCE! You may choose options that are much like a private, all-inclusive resort for your friends and family! Concierge/Chef Rambo will greet you and assist you in planning your ideal vacation. He will book your transportation; whether you want to drive yourself or take advantage of the 14 passenger van (with seat belts) that can take you to your daily destinations and/or round-trip airport transfers. He also will book your tours through companies that he has vetted and are reputable.

Vista Del Fuego is fully air-conditioned with two central air units, unlike many vacation rentals in the area. This keeps our guests cool in both communal areas and bedrooms. We recently purchased a large GENERATOR to power the house in an outage.

Vista del Fuego is positioned perfectly, with Manuel Antonio just 20 minutes north and Dominical 15 minutes south. Almost every tour available is within a 30-minute drive!!!
