Perfect little cottage with just what we needed! Exactly as listed and clean with nice amenities. Looking forward to returning next summer!

This House Needs Some Love!

Although we had a great week weather-wise, there are some things we wish we had known before we booked. I hope this review is helpful for future renters. Location gets 5 stars. The house is steps from a private beach – although the slice of beach you will be 'permitted' to sit on is barely 20' wide. The owners sure need to give this house some love before next summer. The furnishings and fixtures are extremely sparse. The lighting is uncomfortable (only one lamp in the entire house, a bare bulb in the center of the living room, and yet, too bright and harsh in the kitchen/dining area – all fluorescent bulbs are on one switch, so it feels either like stage lighting or too dark to see your food! There are ripped screens on windows/doors throughout the house. The kitchen is ill-equipped for more than 2-3 people. No dishwasher! The garbage can pedal is broken, and there isn't a door handle on the outside of the kitchen slider. The outdoor shower only closes from the outside with an elastic band! The outdoor dining tabletop looks like there had been a fire. The single, tiny bathroom has no shelving or towel racks. The stairway is VERY steep and narrow. This house is difficult for more than 2 people, although the listing accurately says it sleeps 8.

A majestic respite

We enjoyed this property so much that I'm hesitant to give the property the accolades that it deserves. I'm tempted to give it a one star review so that the place does not fill up. Alas, I'm not an evil person and I feel inclined to do the honest and appropriate thing. What a burden. Honestly--this place was exactly what we hoped it would be. It was clean, accessible, and so comfortable.

Very nice cottage within walking distance to a private beach. Beach are we could utilize was smaller than I expected but very nice. Great relaxing stay on the cape!

Family Vaca by the Beach

This property was a great rental for our family. Plenty of beds and space. There is only one bathroom, but with the outside shower it was never a problem. It was a great location to the beach. We were able to go down as a group and some kids head back to the house when they needed a rest. Very close to restaurants and bars. The house was super clean and ready for us when we arrived. We would def rent again.

Would definitely rent here again

Overall, the house was great! Easy access to a private beach, West Dennis public beach, a little playground nearby and the Sand Bar & Lighthouse Inn. The private beach area that you could actually use was smaller than advertised because two large beach front homes have exclusive rights of most of the beach, however it was enough for our family. I would definitely rent here again!

Great area

While I spent a good hour cleaning and organizing the cabinets upon arrival, the location was good. House fit our needs. I would suggest adding mirrors in bedrooms. There is only 1 bath and even with a small family of 3, hogging the bathroom is no fun - having the ability to get dressed and makeup in another room with a mirror would help.

Great location

Great location. House is sparsely fitted out - no bedside lamps, downstairs blinds, dustpan, half a dozen standard kitchen items etc. There's no dishwasher. We found the TV difficult to consistently operate. It often froze, with the remote providing no assistance, and the only solution was to unplug everything and start again. I daresay that there's a better solution that we just couldn't work out - a cheat sheet would have been very helpful. The letting agency was responsive and helpful, but I would suggest calling them, rather than using email. Other than that, it's perfect for a causal beach week.

Incredible location!

Enjoyed the house and loved the location! Easy steps to the private beach, very quiet and peaceful. The house is clean and had everything we needed. Would love a little more in the way of furnishings and lamps in the bedrooms, and we rented beach chairs only to find out there were chairs already at the property. But the natural light is amazing and we really enjoyed the house. We had a wonderful week in this house and you can’t beat the beach access!

No privacy at all! No curtains on front or side of cottage.

No privacy! We felt like we were living in a fish bowl. The only lighting was extremely bright overhead light. Needed lamps. Only one end table in cottage. Mattress pads dirty! Sugar ants in kitchen. 1 mirror in House. Does not work well with 3 females. Chair & ottoman has stains. Front screen ripped. Opened food bags left in cabinet. No hair dryer. No iron or ironing board. No end tables in bedrooms.

great location but...

when we arrived at the cottage there was an open house in progress. a direct violation of the covid 19 cleaning policy not that the house was all that clean anyway. e.g. the used bandaid stuck to the door frame. we contacted the real estate co. responsible for the rental but they were no help. furniture, especially the bed on the first floor, was totally uncomfortable. very disappointed

Enjoyable stay with good amenities

This was a very plug and play property for me. I used the kitchen and cookware to prepare food. There was enough room to maneuver for me and my guest. Plus the location was perfect to see other parts of the cape and west Dennis.

Blew away my expectations

It's rare that when I book a vacation getaway, the hotel or rental property turns out to be everything I was hoping for and more, but that's exactly what you get here. The house is beautiful, newly renovated. The private beach is literally steps away. The neighbors couldn't be nicer. And the property managers were responsive and a pleasure to deal with. With 2 little kids in tow (ages 3 and 1) we needed a getaway that would be easy and stress-free, and boy did this deliver. Amazing house, 10/10 would stay here again.

fun stay close to the beach!

Great location. Steps to the private beach. Neighbors are extremely nice. Mini-split ACs work great. Only downside is sand which you would expect with a house this close to the beach. I felt like we were constantly vacuuming or sweeping but you can't blame the house for that.
