The outside of property, there was trash under the stairs. Trash and kids toys in lawn & under house.The check in time said 3 but not able to get in till 4. The owner communicated well, the toilet would not flush, you had to take lid off of back to flush it. The fridge had some funky smell, but overall all it was not bad. The pics of home in pics need to be updated to what home looks like now. Y’all are straight bamboozling people. Had nice decks to use but all out door furniture was not usable.

This was a cute, put together little condo! Great location to beach! Part of our traveling party stayed in an RV at the State Park that was walking distance to the condo which was very convenient!

Catfished-trip ruined

First of all, I read the reviews and took notice of problems others listed with the property. I saw good reviews after and assumed the property manager would care to correct the concerns brought about by previous occupants. I WAS WRONG. The pictures listed are OLD, the property is run down. We encountered; broken chairs, deadbolt that doesn’t lock/work, dirty floors, rugs, furniture, nails that are sticking up out of the floor, as well as a bathroom sink that doesn’t drain, pots and pans (that are appear as though they’re cast iron due to the water and tear but aren’t) stains on rug, bedding and mattress, missing bulb in bedside lamp to name a few. The cleaning lady came at 10:13am and I had to turn her away, telling her our rental expires as 11:00am. It’s a rundown property amongst other nice properties. I went outside to drink a cup of coffee and when I sat down in the blue chair by the table it collapsed underneath me. I weigh 135lbs, it was so embarrassing. There isn’t a light on the deck, the property manager’s solution was a solar lamp on the table. The property is listed as being elderly and children friendly however, the deck is badly warped, chairs are broken, nails are sticking up out of floorboards and there is a treacherous “step” to enter the bathroom. I will NEVER rent this property again and in my opinion, Evolve/Vrbo shouldn’t NOT allow such a misrepresentation of a property to continue to be listed.

Beach weekend

Where should I start off. As soon as I pull in the lawn was overgrown and unkept and there’s an old beat up golf cart under the deck. The inside was nice. It wasn’t very big but that was expected. It was actually roomier than expected. The sink in the bathroom was draining slow, but we could live with that. Then night came and we had no patio light. It was pitch black. This bothered me because it was very unsafe walking downstairs. Went to run the dish washer and noticed an odd smell. Next morning realized the dishwasher was backed up and that was the smell. Had to hand wash all the dishes. Tried to reach the contact the first night and never heard back from them. Very dissatisfied with this rental. Stay away from this rental . Worst rental I have had in all my experience.

Simple but comfortable

We had three people staying here two nights and this property totally met our needs. The property listing was exactly as described. Nicely furnished, comfortable beds. The proximity to the beach is awesome. Good value, checkout steps were reasonable, and overall a very good stay.

Fun/but

Our family did have a fun time and we did realize the property was small. We had chosen this property because our family was small plus the reviews when we were first looking were very good. As it was getting closer though the reviews were poor. This did make us concerned and did not get answers when we inquired. Just that there had been other renters since and no complaints. Once we got to the property there was an old golf cart and old beach items that were all over. The golf cart stayed and was broken. Once inside though the little house was very cute and clean, except for a very old and moldy shower curtain. My daughter ordered a new one and it came the next day. We had read about the mattresses being stained, but chose not to look as everything else was fresh. It was not till we were preparing to leave on our last day and as required we pulled the linens and yes to our dismay the mattresses were stained and was so disappointing. I did let the guest contact know this info also . The property is for sale and hopefully this and other reviews will help to fix some of the problems as the property is cute . Thank you!

Great location, but needs maintenance and cleaning

Arrived to see trash overflowing and animals had got into it and trash was all over the yard. My husband cleaned it up because we were there for a week and it was truly disgusting walking through an unmowed yard filled with trash. Frustrating to spend hundreds on a cleaning fee when it clearly wasn’t, and we had to do a lot of cleaning ourselves upon arrival. Inside was nice enough but there was not any dishwasher detergent, dish soap (luckily we brought our own thanks to a previous review) and looked as though the previous renters put their dirty dishes back in the cabinet without at least handwashing, no toilet paper, and a cockroach under the couch. Location to the beach was great but had I seen the current reviews before I booked several months ago, I would not have booked this rental.

Location saves it!!

I have a family of 5 and this was our first time ever staying in a rental home. We were so excited, but to pull up to the grass being as tall as my 3 year old, the trash overflowing onto the ground and covered with flies plus tons of broken items( golf cart, kick boards, fishing poles) was not a warm welcome after a 6hr long drive. The inside wasn’t too bad. It was clean for the most part and we were comfortable. The place would be amazing if it had some TLC. It just needs maintenance, like making sure the locks work. Now the distance from the beach is unbelievable! The 5 min walk was great and easy, even with very young kids. We loved the beach experience, but I would recommend SOAKING your body with bug spray. The mosquitoes were ridiculous!! We were fine at the beach but during the walk back, I guess after the water washed the bug spray off, was war. Overall, that house would be perfect if the owner cared about it. Hopefully, once it’s sold, the new owner will see the potential.

Home is not kept up

We arrived to the beach house only to see that it looked abondaned with grass two feet high and a deteriorating golf cart under the deck. We did not complain and decide to give it a shot. House seemed nice at a glance, but then realized the house was not kept up. Some issues where: Front door top deadbolt did not latch. Plates had dried food particles on them. No dish or dishwasher soap. Restroom curtain had mold on it. Towels were old and had stains on them. Vanity drawers were broken and had hair clippings/shavings. Pillows were very old and flat. Back deck had grill and chairs that were completely rusted and broken. Outdoor shower was full of spider webs and drain was clogged with dirt and outdoor debris. Used the washer, and they were ridiculously loud. Best thing to do is leave it washing/drying while you're out. FYI, no detergent provided. We booked the place for two nights, and we couldn't bare to stay a second night. Followed instructions of cleaning and removing linens, only to find one mattress was full of stains. Not a nice sight. Living area did have a very comfortable couch and location is great with only a short walk to the beach, approximately a 5 min walk. If house was kept up we would have rate it a 5 star stay. Hope this review helps.

Nice Spot

Enjoyed how close to the beach the house was. The house was nice and clean on the inside. Only complaint was the grass was extremely tall making it hard for us to walk up to. Also, our trash bin had not been cleaned out seems for awhile. When i opened the bin it was full and full of flies. Other than those two issues was a very nice stay.

Needs some TLC

This house is in need of a refresh. It's currently for sale so perhaps the owners don't want to put any money into it. The mattresses and pillow are stained, the second bed is not a queen, but a full. We found an air mattress in the closet, but there were no sheets to put on it. The shower head has a leak that dripps pure hot water so you have to dodge it unless you want to get burned. The check out process when leaving is one of those annoying, strip the sheets, take out the trash, wash, dry and put away all the dishes (the sponge they leave you to do that with is moldy) AND we're going to charge you a cleaning fee. The outside hasn't been mowed in some time, so you have walk in through a jungle of grass and thick mosquitoes. I stayed here because I was considering buying the house, but we won't be making an offer.

Galveston Getaway

The house was very clean, cute, and had everything you needed! Very close to the beach, which made for a short walk. Beach was very nice and clean as well. On the day we checked out, getting ready to leave, my car would not start. We were out in the heat, waiting on AAA to come, we called owner, and Jake was kind enough to let us go back in to cool off, which I thought was very nice!!! I would totally come back to stay again!!!

Great little house just outside of Galveston. Nice quite neighborhood, short walk to the beach. Great kitchen and Bathroom. 1 bedroom has a double bed and the other has a queen, listing is not correct.
