The pictures do not do this property justice. Sitting out on the deck and watching the paragliders fly over by the hundreds every single day with the Lake and the Alps in the foreground was magical. Our host was amazingly communicative and although we did not speak any French he made it so easy to communicate in English. When we needed to call him for some very minor things, he answered the phone right away every single time. The kitchen range was perfect as we are gourmet cooks. The window over the sink has an extraordinary view so it was a pleasure to clean up every day. There is a working fireplace and we had a beautiful wood fire every morning and a few times in the evening. Our bed was very comfortable. It was an absolute luxury having a dryer in the house as well. The house is just far enough out of the town that there is privacy, but close enough to be in the village within a few minutes. We will definitely be staying here again. it was our favorite place to stay in France so far

Good Location - Some Refresh Required

The Propoerty was large and accomodating but two shower / bath rooms need modinisation and flaking and damp plaster needs tiling. I felt I paid too much for the quality of two of the shower rooms which were not fit for purpose at this cost (€4k). A small refund would be appreciated.

Le propriétaire est très agréable, discret et a disposition. A maison est parfaite pour passer de très bonnes vacances, confortable elle reste fraîche pour bien dormir, grâce à ses chambres en niveau Bas, la literie est en parfait état.

Cadre enchanteur

La location est dans un cadre magnifique avec des balades faciles d'accès sans voiture grâce aux navettes mises en place par la région (ou directement à pied pour les plus sportifs). Le fait que les chambres soient au sous-sol est très appréciable en été, mais la suite "Master" notamment bénéficierait d'une rénovation. Les propriétaires habitent de l'autre côté du chemin et ont été très réactifs à chaque petit souci. La location est une base très agréable et idéalement placée pour explorer Talloires et ses environs.

Amazing views from lovely well equipped house, only a short walk from Talloires

Received a friendly welcome from Pascale and Yves with great information about the local area. They were also on hand when we needed them in the weeks stay. We stayed during really hot weather but with the bedrooms downstairs and using the shutters we were able to keep it cool so we could get some respite from the heat and sleep well too. Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks

Very nice location. Quiet but still close enough to town to walk to the beach, store and restaurants. Easy parking next to the house.

Un charmant chalet très bien situé a Talloires - nous recommandons +++

Tout notre séjour a été parfait, les hôtes sont très réactifs et avec plusieurs petites attentions a l'arrivée très appréciables. Le chalet est tout confort. Nous étions 2 couples et 2 enfants de moins de deux ans. La localisation est idéale, proche du lac mais dans les hauteurs avec une superbe vue sur le lac. De nombreuses balades a effectuer dans les environs. Nous avons passé de superbes vacances et recommandons vivement ce mieux. Merci encore aux propriétaires !

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au sein de cette charmante maison atypique. Les photos sont fidèles et la qualité des équipements mis à disposition sont de qualités. Le seul petit bémol serait les deux couettes d'une personne pour le lit double de la chambre. mais, ce n'est vraiment qu'un détail. Merci à vous pour cette semaine entre amis !

Location extrêmement agréable et idéalement située

La maison est très bien conçue et équipée. Les terrasses , les vues sur le lac, la clarté des pièces la rendent très agréable. La situation avec vue sur lac et au cœur de toutes les activités du secteur (randonnée , lac, parapente, visites...) est extraordinaire. L'accueil des propriétaire est à la fois très sympathique et discret. Excellente adresse, à recommander sans hésiter .

Quiet home and spectacular views above Lake Annecy

We spent 7 weeks in this lovely and spacious home. The location of this home is excellent, especially for hikers. There are several trails down into Talloires leaving from the driveway and other trails up the mountain to St. Germain and Ponnay. You can easily walk to Roc de Chère and to Château-de-Menthon. The walk into Talloires on trails takes approximately 15 minutes, and was not too difficult for our children (ages 10 and 7). The benefit of being a short distance from the center of Talloires is that the location is very quiet and the house has more modern amenities than other homes in town. The long driveway and beautiful landscaping provides a feeling of privacy. Inside, the house is larger than the pictures might suggest. The house is tidy, with spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. For a family of 4, we had plenty of space, including a mezzanine above the family room, multiple bathrooms, and an outdoor porch where we ate most of our meals. The kitchen is bright, clean, and well-equipped, including a large refrigerator, oven and stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and espresso/coffee machine. Having a washer and dryer was wonderful (and for Americans traveling to France, it might be helpful to know that it is not common to have a clothes dryer in a rental house). Because we were away for such a long time, we needed to be able to work from the house. The internet connection was reliable and fast. For example, we were able to Skype into meetings and watch videos streamed online. Our children appreciated that there were toys, puzzles, books, and games for rainy days. The owner, Yves Garcier, was an exceptional host--kind and welcoming. He met us the first day and was gracious when our arrival was delayed for several hours. His directions, information, about the house and preparations for the rental were thorough and helpful. We were always able to contact him with questions, and he responded promptly. We visited in the early summer, and there were ample activities for families and outdoor enthusiasts including hiking, bicycling, running, paragliding, swimming and boating, and an adventure ropes course. There are many nearby outdoor markets with fresh produce, olives, cheese, bread, and clothing. There are several grocery stores nearby in Talloires and Menthon. The drive to Annecy takes about 15 minutes, and likewise, the drive to Thones is also about 15 minutes. Driving to Geneva takes approximately 1 hour.

Great location

We loved eating out on the balcony each evening with mountain and lake views. Always something to see including the paragliders which come over the house. The house was clean, well maintained and equipped. Lots to do in the area, cycling on the traffic free cycle path along the lake side into Annecy is great for younger/less confident cyclists, and we loved cycling in the mountains too. Plus a great local produce market in nearby Thones. Our boys loved the waffles in the waffle house there, great coffee too. The owner of the house was very helpful. We would definitely recommend this property and would love to return.
