Great Location!! Just a 2 min walk from Banff Avenue with its shops, restaurants, ski bus stops, grocery/liquor stores, art galleries and more! Located on a quiet street in the heart of Banff and only 5 min walk to hiking trails and river path. The perfect retreat for families and groups up to 6 people, or couples wanting space and privacy. Newly renovated, open plan living/dining, vaulted ceiling, kitchenette, washer/dryer, balcony with views, gas fireplace, quality beds/bedding, officially licensed, self check-in, ample off-street parking, fast WiFi.

BEDROOMS
-Bedroom 1 (primary) is located on the main floor and has en suite bathroom with 2 vanity sinks, walk-in shower, king bed, desk and daybed.
-Bedroom 2 is also located on the main floor and has a queen bed with private bathroom with deep tub/shower.
-Bedroom 3 is located on the top floor, off the living area and has a queen bed with en suite bathroom and walk-in shower.

-Hallway closet next to front door can accommodate hiking boots, jackets, backpacks, ski and snowboard equipment.

-There is a washer/dryer conveniently located on the main floor.

SKIING & SNOWBOARDING
During the winter months the Black Bear Chalet is popular with skiers and snowboarders and is the perfect base for visiting Banff's world class ski resorts of Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Norquay. After a day on the slopes, unwind in the cozy Chalet, or walk just 3 mins into downtown for a well-earned après ski dinner in one of Banff’s many excellent restaurants.
Well-stocked ski and snowboard shops and rentals are just 5 mins walk away, and the ski bus stop for all resorts is an easy 3 min flat walk from the Chalet.


OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
The Chalet has 2 units for rent with separate entrances on opposite sides of the house. The Black Bear Chalet is the larger unit with 3 bedrooms on the upper 2 floors of the building. The Little Black Bear is a 1 bedroom suite located in the lower level of the building.
The owners live in the same building in a completely separate unit at the back of the property.

There are 6 outside stairs up to the entrance of the Black Bear Chalet. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level, and a flight of stairs up to the living area, balcony and 3rd bedroom.

The kitchen has a 2 burner cooktop and microwave, no BBQ and due to Town of Banff rules there is no oven.

Do you require more space? The lower 1 bedroom unit can be rented in addition to the upper unit and can accommodate 2 extra people.

This luxury chalet is extraordinarily comfortable, convenient, and well stocked with many special touches. This home base was in a perfect location for all our activities in Banff, Moraine Lake and Lake Louise, and the Icefields Parkway. Sonja was very friendly and helpful; check-in and check-out were remarkably easy. We hope to be able to stay here again in the future.

The Black Bear Chalet had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our visit to Banff! The house was super clean, spacious and comfy….the mountain views from the balcony were awesome; hints of the sunrise and sunset! Being so close to town allowed us to walk to dinner, get groceries and sightsee!

Perfect Location, Perfect House

What you see is what you get … the VRBO photos probably understate how lovely the decor, layout and cleanliness of the home! They have thought of every “need” detail. The living room and dining table had plenty of room for everyone. Everything was wonderful and very comfortable and the location was only one short block from the downtown area and grocery store. Loved our time at Black Bear! Wonderful!

The place was well kept and clean. But the surroundings were shabby next door house had windows covered with sheets etc. front area was not kept well it was close to the main market , that was nice. They have electric stove and it was hard to figure it out. Over all we had a good time there

Fantastic property! Very clean and comfortable! The hosts have thought of EVERY detail!Cozy living & dining area with quick start fireplace. Three different options for making coffe in the morning, as well as tea. Fully equipped kitchen with all dishes, utensils and pots and pans.All three bedrooms are well appointed with very comfortable beds. All three bathrooms were sparkling clean with amazing showers.Outdoor patio with plenty of seating and great views of the sunset over the mountains.All of this PLUS super access to downtown Banff. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, groceries, and wine shop.We traveled as two couples and everyone in the party was well pleased. We can not wait for a return visit. This beautiful property has it all, as well as location, location, location!Can not recommend more highly!

The perfect retreat!! Close to Banff and Bow Walkway

First off, the home is better than the pictures! Loved our stayed! The home is so well appointed with lots of love. Beds are wonderful. Excellent showers. 10 stars!! The location can not be beat!!! Views from every room. 1 block from Banff and 2 blocks from the Bow River! It's also very quiet there. I could go on and on! Spend the $$$ and stay where you'll be comfortable, and close to everything. We never used our car unless we were leaving the area.

Perfect location for experiencing Banff

The second you arrive at the property you immediately know that this home is loved & cared for. Little touches (extra towels, tea, coffee, a book full of local information to help visitors) ensure that you have everything you need for a fabulous stay. Beds were comfortable and living areas were generously sized but still felt cozy. Only a brief 5 minute walk to the Banff Ave where all the shops and restaurants are located and streets were well lit and felt safe. Correspondence with the hosts were seamless. My friends and I enjoyed our stay and have already recommended this home to friends and family considering a trip to the area.

40th anniversary celebration

My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary with children and their spouses! It’s a rare event where we are all together these days. House was convenient to everything, beautifully outfitted, and a great place to start a new adventure ever morning! Would definitely recommend it for adult families.

Perfect Banff getaway

Our family loved Black Bear Chalet! The owners were extremely helpful, the apartment was spotless and very well equipped. The common room is filled with light and Mountain views. The location couldn’t have been better: on a quiet street one block off Banff ave and a block from the grocery. This was the ideal Banff lodging for us.

Great location. Very comfortable accommodation.

We loved having the village so close and within easy driving to gondola and hikes. Well furnished with all we needed for coffee and quick breakfast and wine to relax after long day. Fireplace was great since the temps were a little cool. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of pillows, excellent towels and plenty of hot water. We lacked for nothing!

Bonjour, nous avons apprécié notre séjour, c'est une belle maison, elle est de bon goût. Bien situé. Le seul B mol, que j'apporterais, pour des gens comme nous qui sommes en ski toute la journée, nous aimons faire le repas à la maison le soir. Il n'a pas de four, il a seulement deux petits ronds, ce n'est pas très pratique pour faire la cuisine pour 6 personnes. De plus, lorsque nous sommes la pour une semaine entière et faisons du sport, ce serait pratique d'avoir au moins accès sur place à une laveuse et sécheuse. Merci

Perfect place to stay

The cabin is amazing. You have Banff’s downtown on a walking distance, and you can enjoy a nice view to the mountains from the cabin’s deck. The cabin is really clean and cozy and the beds are really comfortable. The only thing you should be aware of, is that it doesn’t have a laundry, so either take enough underwear, or be prepared to go and wash it at walking distance laundry.
