Comfortable, Peaceful Weekend

This was a wonderful home-away-from-home location. We were able to visit with family and friends in the area and then come "home" to this cozy, peaceful place. Mornings were spent sitting on the private outdoor patio listening to the birds in the nearby woods and watching the cows graze in the field next door. Owners were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Linda and Richard were fantastic hosts! They made the stay 10/10. The property is perfectly situated in the quiet woods where you can relax and even spot fireflies/lightning bugs. The property is very close to coffee shops, main downtown area, and a short drive to Shenandoah National Park! Will visit again :)

Lovely woodsy area minutes from downtown and all wineries and points of interest. Apartment offered everything we needed and hosts were friendly and fun! We were invited to their happy hour bonfire in the backyard fire pit! Such a treat!

Fantastic Property

Linda is the quintessential hostess, the most friendly we have ever had on our numerous VRBO rentals. She was very helpful with local tourism questions and responsive to requests. The apartment is clean, well-maintained, private, quiet and peaceful. We highly recommend this rental.

Fantastic, homey apartment.

The apartment was very cute and clean and had everything we needed. Linda and Richard were so sweet. They became like old friends in a short time. The setting is absolutely beautiful, but is a great location just a short drive to downtown Charlottesville and many wineries!

Peaceful Location

We had a peaceful weekend. We felt this location was a home away from home. Mornings were spent sitting outside on the private patio. Woods were nearby and cows grazed in the field next door. Quiet. Owners were friendly and welcoming.

The unit and the property are delightful. The unit includes various amenities and nice touches. The hosts are lovely people. Unfortunately, the location did not support our phone connectivity and the on-site wi-fi was spotty at best, kicking off shortly after being relaunched (we began the stay without connectivity and were unaware how to resolve it and the hosts were unavilable). Except for a very few minutes during our stay, we had no internet or TV use while there. The value for the price paid was compromised greatly.

Gracious, creative hosts

Linda and Richard welcomed us into the cozy apartment they offer, and immediately into sharing a roaring bonfire with their family. We came late on Christmas Day, and they even gave us food, since we had not planned ahead and everything was closed. The home is quiet and out a lovely road surrounded by beautiful views, cows, and fields. Richard & Linda were always responsive to anything we needed. It was a great place to stay and good alternative to our usual hotel experience.

Great Hosts in Idyllic Country Setting

Enjoyed our visit to this downstairs apartment in Charlottesville. The hosts are super-friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the location is just 10-15 minutes to areas we were visiting around UVA and Charlottesville.

Wonderful place and people

My friends and I had a great time here - the whole property is beautiful, with seating, a pond, and flowers in the front and forest in the back. The indoors was very clean and welcoming. Linda and Richard were easy to communicate with and even offered to make more specific recommendations based on our interests. They were super friendly and hospitable and let us join their bonfire with their friends! We hope to return soon!

Close to Cville

We had a wonderful time in Cville the VRBO was close to town and other sites. The unit was clean and comfortable well stocked with extras for cooking. Linda and Rich are on site and very helpful and enjoyable. We slept very well and might of been the comfiest bed we slept in.

We loved staying at this rental. Very comfortable, everything we needed for our stay and Linda and Richard were great hosts. They even lent us their own lawn chairs so we could take them to watch our first every polo match. Talk about going the extra mile for your guests! Easy Peasy

Everything was as we could have hoped for from the accommodations and location to the comfort and tranquil vibe we felt throughout our stay. Our hosts were very helpful with written suggestions for dining and sightseeing destinations, and if a question arose we knew getting an answer was as easy as a quick call or text. Looking forward to our next trip to the area staying at Papillion Hill again.
