Great location with access to private beach which made for some excellent shelling. No dishwasher and not being able to adjust the thermostat by 1 degree was a bit extreme

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. I am so glad you enjoyed the private beach access and had success with the shelling—it truly is one of the best parts of being in this location! I appreciate your comments regarding the amenities. I apologize for the frustration with the thermostat and the lack of a dishwasher. We try to provide as much detail as possible in our property descriptions so guests know exactly what to expect, but your feedback helps us look for ways to improve the guest experience. We hope to have the chance to host you again for another relaxing island getaway!

Unit was clean, updated and spacious. Peaceful neighborhood and good location. Bike trail was right down the street. The parking lot for beach access that is down the street is not marked and was chained off, therefore I was unsure if I was at the right location. Maybe a little more clarity on that lot would have been helpful

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear you found the unit clean, updated, spacious, and enjoyed the peaceful neighborhood and easy access to the bike trail. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the beach access parking lot. You are absolutely right that clarity is key, and we will update our check-in materials immediately with better directions and clearer markings for that designated parking spot. We want your walk to the beach to be stress-free! We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback and hope to host your next peaceful getaway soon.

West End is very nice!

This property is a little dated but very nice and comfortable. Location is great and the screen porch is awesome. We enjoyed the breeze and watched the animals in the pond during the heat of the day. We will be back.

Island Trip

This property was just what we were looking for. It is opposite the Nature refuge and was quiet and peaceful. We were able to easily get to all the activities we wanted to. I did have to watch out for lizards as they are everywhere outside and I didn't want to step on one.

Serene Sanibel

This property is perfect for someone who wants to enjoy the beach and town without feeling like you are in a tourist area. The location of the home requires you to drive to most places on the island, but you can easily bike to anywhere. The nature preserve is a great place to bike to as well. It is only a few minutes walk to the beach from the house. The beach is almost all to yourself here. The house has everything you need to get you started on your vacation. The views from the back porch area are great. It was perfect on the day it rained and we couldn’t be outside. Eating out is nice, but we appreciated having a kitchen so that we could make our own meals too. Bailey’s store makes it easy to pick up prepared meals as well. We had a wonderful time here and hope that in the future we can perhaps rent a few adjoining units for a family get together.

The inside of the condo itself was lovely! It was brand new and very comfortable. However, we specifically booked the home due to its advertisement as having a private beach that was within walking distance, but that wasn’t the case. The private beach parking lot was closed off and flooded as well as access to the walking trail. We would have had to cross private property and wade through quite a bit of stagnant water to access the beach. Additionally, the instructions were vague and hard to find regarding the parking pass. We were also not informed that there would be people working on the exterior of the unit during our stay - for all days of our stay, there was hammering and drilling outside of our windows. As a matter of fact we were awakened by hammering on the first morning. When I opened the blinds to the lanai in the morning, a man was working on a ladder directly in front of me. Same with the kitchen the morning before. We are from a 3 hr earlier time zone so this impacted our rest quite a bit. We alerted the host after the first day, were told that they would do something about the construction noise, but had the same issue until we checked out. As a matter of fact, they were going to be working on the main sprinkler timers just under our kitchen window as we were leaving. We are extremely empathetic to hurricane Ians damages and All in all the condo is lovely but feel like it was rented out prematurely without a warning to us.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. We’re so glad you found the condo itself to be lovely, new, and comfortable, but we sincerely apologize that you had such a frustrating experience with the beach access and construction during your stay. The day before your arrival, our area experienced an unexpected and significant rainstorm that brought over a foot of rain in a short period. This caused temporary but widespread flooding, including the neighborhood path and beach parking lot. Unfortunately, this was a last-minute development, and we regret that we couldn't inform you beforehand. We also apologize for the inconvenience and disruption caused by the construction. We did try to give you a heads-up about the workers for that day, but we understand that the noise from the hammering and drilling was disruptive, especially given the time zone difference. We are actively working on repairs and rebuilding after the hurricanes and are doing our best to coordinate with our contractors to minimize the impact on our guests. It seems we fell short in this case, and we're truly sorry for the disturbance to your peace and rest. We are reviewing our check-in information to make sure the instructions for the parking pass are clearer and easier to find for all future guests. Your feedback is invaluable as we continue to rebuild and improve. We hope you'll consider staying with us again in the future, and we're happy to offer you a discount on a future booking.

Nice Getaway

Enjoyed watching several species of birds and an Iguana on the screened in porch. It’s a two mile drive to J. N. Ding Darling Wildlife Reserve entrance, and about .25 mile to the beach parking lot. Nice quiet beach.

Our April stay

This was a nice quaint home, property and area to stay. We were lucky that there were always bikes available when we wanted to use them. I believe there were only 6 bikes and we used 4 at a time during our stay. The bikes made it easy to get to the ocean with our beach supplies. We also used the bikes to explore the area. The house was very nice and clean. Having the washer and dryer there was wonderful too! The couch was broken in the middle which we told management about. No one fixed it while we were there so my husband rigged it in the middle. The lock on the bedroom door, which goes to the outside, needed to be fixed and maintenance came the next day to fix it. The bedroom did get a little warm at night because you can’t turn the A/C under 72degrees. Things that I would bring or would help for our next visit; tupperware, so we can take food/snacks to stay at the ocean all day, maybe boogie boards are a football to throw around at the beach. The house came with beach chairs, noodles, umbrella, and a cooler which helped during the beautiful hot ocean days! The back patio made for a wonderful quiet place to get outside and still private enough by the backyard pond.

It’s a good location and the unit is in decent shape. However, the sleeping arrangements are horrible. The bed in the bedroom is way too small for 2 adults (looks like a small twin bed) and the sofa is totally inadequate for a teenager (too small and it’s broken, the cushions won’t hold in place).

Paradise with a soft bed

We had an amazing stay at West End Paradise. Our unit was perfectly quiet and had lots of Florida charm. The local beach is practically empty. We biked all over the island on the provided bikes. Wow! So great, almost. I need a firm bed for a good night's sleep. I hope the owner updates the mattress but, until this is done, the unit is difficult to recommend wholeheartedly. Also, the kitchen area is very small with little workspace. There are minimal utensils and we had difficulty dining in. Luckily, everything else was great. Biking through Ding Darling, toasting the sunset on an empty beach, chatting with friendly neighbors. What more could we ask for, aside from a new mattress and a better equipped kitchen?

We love being in a neighborhood.

We love being in a neighborhood. And on the quiet end of the island. Yet you can get anywhere in short time. Please keep the wild aspects of the WEP. Part of the charm... They were always friendly and patient with our concerns.
