Sea Loft Kangaroo Island

Sea Loft is the ultimate boutique accommodation on Kangaroo Island, situated on a private 5-acre property that borders a Native Vegetation Reserve. The property offers expansive sea, bush & pastoral views whilst situated less than 10 minutes from the largest township, Kingscote and 12 minutes to the airport. Sea Loft encapsulates the best of Kangaroo Island's scenery coupled with an abundance of native wildlife at your doorstep. Enjoy daily visits from friendly kangaroos, wallabies & echidna!

Sea Loft offers a variety of sleeping arrangements for up to 4 adults and 2 children. The master bedroom upstairs offers a queen bed, bush view and ample room to relax. The second bedroom overlooking the bay is accessed via a reclaimed timber catwalk and offers a single bed that doubles as a daybed and also converts to a double bed if needed. This room also has a cosy reading nook with a range of boardgames. Downstairs, the third bedroom with views through to the bay offers a double bed. All of the beds feature luxurious French linen.

The open plan living room with oversized couch and wood fireplace is the perfect spot to relax in front of the tv after a day of exploring the island. Netflix and local tv stations are available on both tvs in the property along with free wifi access. A complimentary stack of firewood, firelighters and matches are provided for your stay.

Please note that the two upstairs bedrooms feature walls for privacy, but both are open air with no doors. The bathroom is located downstairs.

Sea Loft is discreetly tucked away and nestled into the bush, but still within easy reach to the island’s largest township Kingscote. Kingscote offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, shops, brewery and wineries- all within a 5-10 minute drive from the property! The house is mere minutes from Bay of Shoals boat ramp, Bay of Shoals Winery, Kangaroo Island Brewery, Kangaroo Island Spirits, local honey supplier Island Beehive as well as stunning Emu Bay beach. It serves as the perfect base to explore both the east and west ends of the island, or as a quiet setting to simply sit back and relax. With the boat ramp only a short distance away, enjoy fishing on some very reliable and favourite spots around Kingscote and beyond. The island’s airport, with hire care rentals, is only a 12-minute drive. The Sealink ferry terminal in Penneshaw is only a 45-minute trip away.

Sea Loft is designed to be a secluded, private escape. We will have minimal interaction with guests to ensure privacy. We are always available to contact via phone or email should guests require anything. Sea Loft offers keyless entry via a PIN which will be disclosed in the lead up to your stay. We can be contacted at any time as required.

An amazing spot amongst the bush, with a Seaview. Our overseas visitors were very impressed.Our Host was easy to communicate with by email. Promptly replying and giving us suggestions on the area. The photos definitely don’t do the house justice

Relaxing Island Retreat

The Sea Loft was the perfect place to stay on Kangaroo Island. It’s close enough to Kingscote but also far enough away to feel secluded. We were visited daily by the local wild life, including kangaroos, wallabies and even an echidna! The property had great facilities including a fully equipped kitchen and BBQ. Located centrally enough to everything on the island it provided a great base camp to see all KI has to offer.

Wallaby evening rush hou

The house exceeded our expectations. It is beautiful, the view from the upstairs deck was terrific and the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom were all top notch. The highlight was dusk when kangaroos and Wallabies came by. One evening we counted over 40 wallabies commuting from the water and going inland. We loved Kangaroo Island, especially Flinders Chase National Park our hosts were attentive and responsive. Fantastic place.

Very welcoming

Absolutely loved the loft and the wildlife that live on this property. We have been lucky to see so many groups of kangaroos either coming in close or jumping right passed. The bonus was seeing an echidna. The Sealoft was very clean and welcoming and close to amenities and day trips of the island. Good cooking and washing facilities as is always good.

Beautiful accomodation

Only a short drive from the Kingscote town and so peaceful with a lovely view of the trees and ocean (from upstairs). It has absolutely everything you could possibly need including washing powder. The hosts were so responsive and provided lots of useful information. Being a loft, it probably wouldn’t suit light sleepers upstairs if you want to continue watching tv etc downstairs. Our kids who were sleeping upstairs woke if we even tried turning the bathroom light on downstairs, but we knew this might be the case being a loft and we made it work. Very much recommend it for a stay.

Surrounded by nature and wildlife

Amazing stay in a beautiful house. Very well presented and equipped. Highlights were sitting on the deck with kangaroos and wallabies right in front of us. Beautiful sunsets and we loved the peace and quiet.

Beautiful stay

A gorgeous property! We loved being nestled in the trees and watching the wildlife. A perfect launching pad for exploring the local area. Julia ensured an easy check-in and the house was beautifully appointed. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful place to stay

We brought family from overseas to KI and stayed at Sea Loft. What a wonderful place to stay. It feels like you’re in the middle of the bush but it’s only a 5 min drive from the town centre. Some kangaroos visited us whilst eating breakfast on both mornings. Everyone enjoyed their visit. We will definitely be back

Beautiful place ina secluded yet convenient location

Beautiful and spotlessly clean place near kingscote. It is conveniently located but also still secluded enough with a beautiful view to enjoy your remote holiday. We saw some roos on the property as well as a wallaby on the first day we arrived (although after the storm, they did not come back for the subsequent days). The host was quick to respond to all of my messages and provided excellent recommendations. They also have a well organized booklet for recommendations, house rules, emergency procedures etc. 100% enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful anniversary getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous loft. Beautiful views and cosy vibe, we stayed warm inside whilst it poured outside, we had no qualms staying in when the place was this lovely! Hosts were very helpful and nice, will definitely be booking here on our next trip to KI!

Sea Loft is amazing! Better the the pictures on the website. It is cozy and comfortable. It has an amazing water view from the second floor. The property has an excellent amenity list including board games and Netflix, perfect if you are stuck indoors due to heavy rain (it happened to us for 2 days). This Sealoft cottage is definitely one of the best accomodations we have stayed in. Also, if you are going to Kangaroo Island by ferry, try to book the ferry with Evelyn at Kingcotes Travel (recommended by Sealoft). She is the most efficient travel agent we have ever come across and price is cheaper than booking direct with Sealink.

Private and cosy

Amazing two night stay in this beautiful, clean property. Very cosy on a cold windy winters night in front of the fireplace. Great base to see the entire island over a few days.

Not really appropriate for 4 adults

This was a wonderful property and would be very romantic for a couple however not really 2 couple suitable . The second bed was a sofa bed and not overly comfy. But otherwise the house was great. Very clean and beautiful view from the top deck. The tree near the bottom deck could use a trim. Watching the wildlife come up close to the house was also good. The fireplace makes the house beautiful and warm very quickly.

Lovely place

Lovely place to stay, really cosy with everything you need during cooler months. Love the kangaroos coming up to the house each morning, the cosy combustion heater and the quietness surroundings. However not sure I’d stay during the warmer months due to no aircon and high ceilings.
