Sandy Seas Villa - Just one home from the Sand

Welcome to our Captiva Island vacation rental home aptly named Sandy Seas Villa. As soon as you arrive, you will realize how special our vacation home is, being just one home from the sand. With plenty of room for up to 14 guests, your entire family and even some friends and extended family can share the experience for a fun-filled week or longer stay. The main level of the home features a spacious living area with a flat panel TV, a dining room with enough seating for the entire group, and an open kitchen that has everything you'll need to prepare meals and entertain. There are three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms on the main level as well. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds while the third bedroom has two twin beds. Upstairs is a loft with a sleeper sofa and the master bedroom suite with a king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom with tub and a separate shower. There is a lounging deck off the master bedroom to soak up the sun. Off the main level, there is a wrap-around porch for lounging, relaxing, and reading your favorite book, or just enjoying a cup of coffee and viewing the gulf views. Downstairs is the expansive heated pool and pool area with plenty of seating and an outdoor shower. There's also a private suite with a king bed, a sleeper sofa, a TV, and a full bathroom. We do have a gas BBQ grill if you would like to cook up burgers, dogs, or your favorite BBQ. Beach towels are provided, and beach equipment is available through our partnership with VayKLife—so all you need to bring is yourselves! Be sure to re-book your stay and enjoy your vacation home away from home year after year.
Plus, we’ve recently added a brand-new hot tub to the beautiful pool area for even more relaxation during your stay.

Important Note: This rental does not include beach chairs or umbrellas. Instead, we’ve partnered with VayKLife to provide you with a credit toward beach essentials like chairs, umbrellas, coolers, wagons, and more—so you can pack light and still enjoy everything you need for a perfect day at the beach. While some of our homes may have beach gear on-site, availability varies, and we cannot guarantee specific items will be provided. With VayKLife, you get to choose exactly what you need, and they’ll deliver it right to your door for added convenience. Your booking confirmation includes a link to VayKLife’s site, where you can browse their full selection and easily redeem your credit. It’s just one of the ways we help make your stay as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

The house was in a perfect location so close to beach and restaurants. The pool was warm and the hot tub was awesome. It is a great house for a crowd. We had 4 couples and there were plenty of seating areas.

The house is well appointed, as described and pictures are accurate. We loved the proximately to the beach and specifically booked this house because our friends booked another house one over. We arrived to a clean house - except a bag of chips was left in the front living room, opened and on the couch. Which we assumed the cleaning crew overlooked...but odd. The kitchen has termites, which we informed the host as soon as we saw them on the first night. They suggested that they come into spray for them the next day, but we have children with asthma and that would not have worked. They offered a house about 10 minutes drive away with similar bedrooms, and one 5 minutes away but only 2 bedrooms. Neither would work due to our friends and that we have always rented on this street. I understand availability last minute, but it is still off-putting that they did not even offer to re-fund anything for flying bugs all over the kitchen. Only came out at nigth when the kitchen lights were on. You could see dead and broken wings up near the island light fixture - this is not a new problem. Disappointed that we never heard again from the host throughout the stay. No other actions or offers. pad lock on the apartment off the garage stopped working. House is good, needs some up keep as beach rentals often do. If they get rid of the termites, this would be an excellent beach house for friends and family.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the house's location and proximity to your friends, but we are deeply sorry that your stay fell short of a 5-star experience. We apologize for the overlooked bag of chips upon arrival and have addressed this with housekeeping. Regarding the swarming insects in the kitchen, seasonal swarming can occur around lights on the islands, but we completely understand how frustrating this was—especially given your children’s asthma, which made spraying during your stay impossible. While we offered alternative homes nearby, we respect why moving didn't fit your plans. Most importantly, we apologize that our communication dropped off and that we failed to proactively offer a resolution while you were there. We take full responsibility for that oversight. Our professional exterminators have since treated the property, and maintenance items are being addressed. We want to make this right—please reach out to us directly so we can process a partial refund for the inconvenience. We appreciate your feedback and hope to provide you with a seamless stay in the future.

Sandy Seas was spotlessly clean upon arrival. It has a well stocked kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. The close proximity to the beach was perfect for our family since we had toddlers and an infant with us. The crystal clear pool was great for the kids and adults. We swam in it every morning and it was refreshing after a day on the beach. The home is within very easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants on Captiva. We will definitely be returning.

Trouble gaining access due to multiple old or current key lock boxes or remote entry…… that part was frustrating, but all else good. WAY too many stairs—very steep… garage level to main level, 18 tall stairs and no landing part way up. Then another 16 from main to master bedroom…that section not bad….really needs an elevator for most folks….and we are not that old!!!!! House was clean, well appointed….Kitchen supplies adequate but could use more. Bed was very very comfortable. Huge house-sleeps 14 I think, and just my wife and me..Great locay, one house off of beach. Will rent again when we have a larger party..plenty of “space” for 3-4 couples…Good experience….lots of stairs.

I sincerely apologize for the frustration with the entry process. We are currently auditing our lockbox systems to remove any outdated hardware and ensure a seamless check-in for future guests. As many of our stilted "ground-level" homes on the island require significant stairs to reach the main living areas, your detailed description is incredibly helpful for future guests to set expectations. Great Location, Nice House

The house is in a perfect location, we spent our family vacation bouncing from the beach to the pool to the restaurants at the end of the road. Once we arrived we never had to get back in the car until it was time to leave.

Perfect Getaway

If you are lucky enough to find an open date for your stay at this property. Grab it! This location was perfect. Short walking distance to all shops and eateries. The beach is less than 25 meters away and very private. Great response times to questions.

My family had a wonderful time at Sandy Seas Villa. The addition of the lower level king bed suite is much appreciated. The twin beds on top floor and the bedroom off of the kitchen could use new mattresses. We needed a few items for the kitchen and we received them in short order. We hope to be back next year.

Just Awesome

The location was so great! We didn’t even have to pack our lunch, we could just simply walk back to the house and grab a bite! The pool area was a wonderful place to come back from the beach and hang out when we were done in the sun! The house was big enough for the 11 of us to hang out and not be on top of each other. All the screened in areas were great because the mosquitoes were horrible! We loved the house so much we are already booked for next year!

Wonderful beach vacation

The overall property was great! We had plenty of room for 6 adults and 4 children. We had a wonderul location, right next to the beach. A very short walk to the beach along with a nice pool for the whole family to enjoy. The only negative and why I didn't give five stars was because of the stove. The oven worked fine but, the top burners only had one temperature and that was high. We burned the bacon because it would not regulate to low. Please replace the stove and you have five stars. A family of ten needs to be able to cook. Thank you!

Great Stay in Captiva

We just got back from a week at Sandy Seas with extended family in two houses on the street with 6 adults, two teens, and two kids all in SSV comfortably. The location of the house to the beach and restaurants is perfect. The sand is hot so bring flops and bug spray for after the sun goes down as the no-see-ums are terrible. We hit RC Otters, Captiva Cantina, and Green Flash and they were all great. Found out that the Mucky Duck is beer and wine only so no pina coladas on the beach, oh well. We rented pontoons from Tween Waters and hit Cabbage Key for a Cheeseburger in Paradise and even went on a charter fishing trip for snapper and snook that the kids loved. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit as well, although the spiral staircase is not exactly kid friendly. The beds are not the best, but nothing terrible. The AC on the main level and basement worked great, not so great on the third floor where the master suite and twin bedroom are. It was tough for three families to live out of one fridge for a week. An extra fridge and ice machine would have been really nice to have. $50 on ice from the store a day adds up. Oh and the ice machine in the fridge doesn't work. Was surprised to find out that there is no beach equipment at the house and you have to rent it. Luckily we brought some of our own. All in all we had a great time and really enjoyed Captiva.

The property worked very well for us - the proximity to the beach was fantastic. The property needs some TLC - clogged drain in master bath, limited kitchen / bar items. Furniture was functional but not comfortable. Overall a very positive experience - the property management company was very responsive too.

Thank you so much for your review. The owners have tried very hard to make the home very comfortable and welcoming for guests with new furniture items throughout. We’ll look at the drains as well … they can be a problem with all of the sand that may go down unfortunately. So happy to see you had a great time and we’ll look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Whole family vacation

We had a great time! The location was perfect and there was plenty of room for the whole family. Sand toys and beach chairs and wagon were perfect got lots of use. Ice cream shop at end of street!! Only problems were the door in pool area was broken at bottom hinge, a couple of outside chairs were broken, still things left in dresser drawers from past guests and sheets on master bed did not stay on.

Peaceful Getaway
