Sandcastle is a solid, stunning house constructed of stone with granite and tiles and dark wood floors. It has been finished to a glorious standard by professional decorators, showcasing furnishings, artwork, and sculpture. Numerous private balconies, terraces with comfortable sofas, seating for cocktails and entertaining space outside; the perfect house for catching up with family and friends. Please note that this property features two bedrooms located outside of the main house. One bedroom is accessed from the second-floor patio, while the other is situated adjacent to the poolside patio.

Sandcastle has enough space for you all to hide away peacefully and still let the kids run around. Just arrange to meet up and dine together at the formal dining table or outside terrace by the fountain! Sandcastle has over 6,000 sq ft of living space, and over 8,000 sq ft if you include the pool, outside kitchen, lanai and balconies.

Sandcastle has a lovely private heated pool and hot tub alongside an outside kitchen and BBQ, set in stunnng gardens. A table tennis table if you're feeling energetic and the beach a very slow 2 minutes walk away; all the great facilities you could wish for, including an elevator, but it is just across the road from the Green Flash restaurant and on the edge of Captiva Village.
Once you've found Sandcastle you may not want to leave.

Important Note: This rental does not include beach chairs or umbrellas. Instead, we’ve partnered with VayKLife to provide you with a credit toward beach essentials like chairs, umbrellas, coolers, wagons, and more—so you can pack light and still enjoy everything you need for a perfect day at the beach. While some of our homes may have beach gear on-site, availability varies, and we cannot guarantee specific items will be provided. With VayKLife, you get to choose exactly what you need, and they’ll deliver it right to your door for added convenience. Your booking confirmation includes a link to VayKLife’s site, where you can browse their full selection and easily redeem your credit. It’s just one of the ways we help make your stay as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

Sandcastle is a BEAUTIFUL home!!! Very open yet many “pockets” for privacy for a large group. Super short walk to the beach going down the secret path next to the cemetery.

The icemaker’s were inoperable and very dirty. The pool was dirty, and the fountain outside by the pool was inoperable and very, very dirty. We were required to keep the thermostat at 72 and the third floor was extremely warm. Everything else was really nice, a beautiful home.

The house is a great location and perfect for a group of people. We did feel like the property has not been maintained the way it should be for the price.1.) There was a hole in the ceiling on the second floor from a leak from the 3rd floor. The leak came from a molded ice maker.2.) Sugar ants-worse in both kitchens3.) Sinks did not drain properly in a number of bathrooms.4.) Faucet handles corroded in a number of bathrooms5.) House was unlocked when we arrived6.) Floors were dirty-we had to wear shoes the entire time.7.) A couple doors had issues with their locks.

We take your feedback seriously and have already taken the following steps: Maintenance: The leak from the ice maker has been fully repaired, and the ceiling is being professionally patched and painted. We are also replacing the corroded faucet handles and clearing all slow-draining sinks. Housekeeping: I have addressed the floor cleanliness and the unlocked door with our cleaning supervisors to ensure our entry protocols and "white glove" floor standards are strictly enforced. Pest Control: We have scheduled an immediate professional treatment to resolve the sugar ant issue, which can occasionally flare up in our tropical climate. Security: The door locks have been serviced to ensure they are smooth and secure for future guests. We value your honesty as it helps us prioritize the upkeep of this home. We would love the chance to host you again in a property that better reflects the luxury quality we are known for.

We had a wonderful week at Sandcastle! We were able to walk to the beach in around 5-10 minutes but I would suggest a golf cart or car to get any chairs, coolers, umbrellas, etc to the beach. It’s a bit far to carry a lot of stuff.

Beautiful, Spacious Home

Location is excellent - beaches closeby and walk to restaurant and stores. Check in was delayed slightly but quickly addressed. Ample room in the home to accommodate 10 family members comfortably and spaciously.

Great choice!

Great home with a great location to restaurants, beach and an amazing sunrise. We had a party of 15 and there was more than enough room to accommodate. Some minor issues but the property manager took care of it right away. Excellent communication from the property manager throughout. I would definitely rent again!

New Years family vacation

Describing the house as spectacular is an understatement. Five balconies, 7 bedrooms and 2 kitchens. Great view of the bay and walking distance to everything. And an elevator to get your luggage up to the third floor. Not inexpensive but worth every penny. Very responsive owner to our requests. We have spent many vacation weeks on Sanibel and Captiva and this by far was the nicest home. There were 16 of us and we had a blast.

Nice house when it was new.

The house is listed for sale for 4.9m. If all the deferred Maintenance was addressed it would be nice. We found over 50 things that were broken and not maintained including NO AC on the 2nd floor. All 3 ice makers having no filters and not in working order. I would stead clear of this property!

Spring break get away

We stayed at Sandcastle in Captiva for a week for our High School spring break. 2 families of 4 adults and 7 teenagers total. The house is spacious and well appointed as advertised. It’s very close to the beach, the Island Store and Provisions as well as the Green Flash restaurant across the street . It is a quiet area and not overly crowded The house was very clean. The pool and hottub are nice but the pool lights didn’t work and a fountain was filled with stagnant water. The 2 kitchens were great but none of the ice makers were working The rental company was extremely responsive and attempted to fix any small problems. Overall this stay was a great experience and we’d definitely recommend this property for a group

Skip this house, but very responsive landlord/agent

My party and I had significant issues, beginning with a broken 3rd floor air conditioner making the top floor (with the 2 largest bedrooms. primary kitchen and Living Room) unbearably hot. I don't wish to provide specifics, but we ended up with an even bigger problem that required us to be re-accommodated to another house during our stay. This issue came to light on Memorial Day, and we were quickly put in touch with someone from Dream Vacation Rentals based in the US that got us into a different house on the same day. I can't say enough good things about how they responded to the issue, though I would have far preferred to never have these issues on a 7 day vacation in the first place. As it relates to this house specifically, it's nice but dated. It also has an odd layout. 2 of the 7 bedrooms can only be accessed by leaving the main house, and those 2 aren't even connected to each other. It's not a big issue, it's just strange. Other issues: 1 of the garage doors didn't work. The clothes washer in the garage had moldy towels in it upon our arrival. The pool deck wasn't clean upon arrival. The 3rd floor was 86 degrees. The 2nd floor sink leaked. The 2nd floor ice machine, beach cart, primary refrigerator freezer and ping pong paddles were all broken. I would not rent this house again, but would be open to renting from Dream Vacation Rentals in the future.
