Gulf Front, NW Top Floor Condo on Side Street in MXB ~ Surfside 17

Located on the West End of Mexico Beach, Surfside is a gulf front condo complex with fantastic views and easy beach access. The building is the only condo complex located on a beachside street and not directly on Highway 98 making noise and traffic less of a concern. Surfside 17 is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit located on the top floor of the building. Being on the southwestern side of the building, the views from the large furnished balcony are amazing and stretch down Mexico Beach as far as the eye can see. The unit is a single level and is accessed by either elevator or exterior stairs. The beach access is located just below the complex so access to beach and property are super easy.

Inside, a group of four fit nicely with a queen bed in one bedroom and a king in the master. Views from most every room inside are also quite unbelievable. The living area is laid out in an open format allowing conversations to take place between the kitchen, living room and dining area. The gulf front living room has a large TV to watch, but it’s questionable if you’ll be able to take your eyes off the beach views to enjoy.

Being on the West End of the beach, access to the few shops, restaurants, marina and boat ramp are literally at your fingertips. Enjoy a walk in the evenings either on the beach or along the sidewalk that stretches through most of Mexico Beach. Surfside 17 is ready to be enjoyed any time of year!

Great view!

We enjoyed our time at Surfside 17. It was a comfortable condo for our family. The view from the deck is wonderful. It was great to see and hear the ocean.

Perfect!!

We will definitely go back! This was perfect! The only thing negative is the recliner was broke in the open position. We were told ahead of time and they said they would come fix on Monday. They never did. But it wasn't a big deal to us. I enjoyed the balcony. It rained on afternoon and I loved sitting out there reading my book listening to the ocean!

Surfside did not disappoint. Easy access to get into the condo and everything was really clean. We will be coming back here.

Great beachfront property

Wonderful, newly renovated apartment. We loved the washer and dryer in the unit and beautiful view from the balcony. Pool was small but surprisingly enough, since the building is little and nobody else attended it. Visit Shell shack that minutes away for delicious fresh scallops and fish! Thank you!

Mexico Beach

Great views of the beach and closeness to the beach can't be beat. The common hallways are noisy from people coming and going. The balcony overlooks 38th Street which is very noisy from use by everyone staying in houses on that Street. Also witnessed a fight where Sheriff's office was called and a vehicle was damaged.

Property management

We called on Wednesday AM to notify that due to power going out that unit had no Wifi or tv. We were told someone would be there within 4 hours. Upon check out on Saturday we had yet to see/hear from anyone. Unit only had 1 bath towel per person for 5 day stay.

Spring Break

Initially we had issues getting our keyless entry to work, after talking to three representatives from the reality and one very nice maintenance man we were let in. The unit was very clean but the Internet was very spotty. I wish we had been told of the ongoing construction across the street that was very loud and woke us up early everyday. Although I understand that why the city is being rebuilt it would have been nice to know up front as I would not have booked this condo.

Awesome location on the beach

We had a nightmare experience just trying to enter the door code that was given with the directions that did NOT match our door lock. I made 2 calls since it was after 530 and reached a guy that was able to unlock the door remotely, but could not give us directions on how to "wake up" the door lock. Then I was told it would have to be reprogramed because NO code he gave would work. I waited for over 30 mins and had to call back as I couldn't believe a reprogram would take this long as we wanted to leave to eat and walk the beach, it was our first day! I finally figured out the steps to lock and unlock our door myself by trial and error. The guys solution was to call them every time we wanted to lock and unlock our door. UNBELEIVABLE! As for the condo itself, it was missing bar stools which was weird, since the table only sat 4 and the place sleeps 6, I believe. That wasn't an issue for us though. The condo was clean and the views were amazing! We particularly loved the master shower as it was roomy and the water pressure was awesome! Beds were pretty hard in both rooms, they probably should be replaced or at least have some sort of memory foam topper. The only other problem for us regarding the property is the joke of pool they have, it's the size of a hot tub, only it's NOT HEATED and NO BATHROOMS at the pool! It was chilly when we visited, so being in the ocean was not an option at all, so every time you needed to use the restroom we had to go to the 4th floor !

the closeness to the beach is the biggest selling point! wishing there were hooks and maybe even a shoe rack by the front door. definitely need a matt at the front entrance to wipe sand off. decor was nice....wish there were bar stools. had a great stay despite the scare of ian! thank you!

Granddaughter/Grandmother Holiday

My sweet granddaughter came to Marietta, Georgia from Oregon to spend her winter break with me and the first thing she wanted to do was go to the beach. This was the perfect place. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom, hers with a shower and mine with a tub. The condo was nicely furnished and the deck, with very comfortable chairs overlooked the Gulf and was effect for our morning coffee, Check In and check out could not have been easier.

Great location, clean and convenient. The King mattress is way too firm, we had no extra garbage bags, no paper towels, 1 small package of dish washer cleaner.
