Escape to Ocean Song Cottages on Vancouver Island in the Pacific Northwest. 3+ acres offering a Year Round and intimate, adult only space with ocean views just 1 hour from Victoria. Enjoy subtle luxury with a calm & quiet Pacific North West(PNW) vibe; gas fireplace, sauna, soaker tub, outdoor shower, gas grill & fast WiFi. Please visit and RELAX • RENEW • RESET

We believe that slowing down from time to time is essential and doing so surrounded by the forest, with the ocean only a short drive away, creates a space where it is easy to breathe and enjoy the things that make the soul sing.

Ocean Song Cottages were completely renovated in the Spring of 2022. The aim was to have cottages that were light filled, minimal and quietly luxurious with modern conveniences and finishes all while finding a balance that allowed them to sit comfortably in the forested oceanside landscape. The result was a carefully considered mix of nordic hygge and mid-century modern with a nod to our own Pacific Northwest's contemporary aesthetic: simple forms, real wood, a restrained palette and maintaining an open feel to the space.

Stroll the property while viewing wildlife that can include bear, deer, birds of prey, whales and seals. This serene and breathtaking oceanfront property can make your dream of enjoying a PNW getaway a reality!

We want you to feel comfortable here, to enjoy your time, to leave encouraged, rested and rejuvenated. This is Ocean Song, you are welcome here and we think you’ll like it.

This is the perfect place to be! The wildlife, hot tub, cozy bed, and various sitting/viewing areas made this a great vacation spot. We enjoyed the sunrise by the sauna and sunset in the hot tub each day. Beautiful! Proximity to Sooke and hiking trails along the coast were great too.

Hello Simone, thank you for you kind words and 5* review! The cottages are perfect for a romantic getaway, I agree, but I am so happy to read that you mentioned the hiking trails that are nearby! A cottage stay is the best of both worlds - active outdoor days with a relaxed and restful nights or afternoons spent in the hammock, hot tub or sauna. Stayed 3 nights in April and lucked out with the weather. Lovely spot, beautiful views and each cabin was very private . Host Melodie was wonderful and I would definitely recommend it for a couples get away.

Hello Nicole ~ Thank you very much for your 5* review and the lovely compliment (I'm blushing). You did indeed 'luck out' with the sunny spring days and isn't the gas fireplace awesome for taking the chill off the cooler nights? I agree with you about the beautiful view; I never get tired of it. It's such a peaceful watch from the cabin, very restful. Thank you for your recommendation as a couples getaway, and Nicole, "Please know that you will always be welcome here." Warmly, Melodie

Hello Aaron, thank you for your kind words and the 5* review! I am happy you enjoyed the creature comforts in the cottage and I hear you about the bed. It is always a tricky thing isn't it? And truth be told, we did opt for the firmer side of medium softness for the topper. Top tip? If you ever are back this way, please ask me to remove the Fawcett Mattress 4" topper because under it there are 2 single Fawcett Mattresses! The one nearest the bathroom is soft, and the one against the wall is hard! We made it a 'his and hers' situation for our personal stays because even Sean and I, after all these years, still can't agree on what a firm mattress is! Thank you Dimitri for your thoughtful review and for choosing to celebrate your 20th anniversary out at the cottages! The big TV question, oh my ... the TV was a talking point for most of the time during the renovation; ultimately we opted for the 'bring your own device' approach, the strong wifi can handle it. I am glad the cottage and the local attractions (beaches, forest hikes, and our growing micro brewers/distillers) kept you happily occupied. You were wonderful guests and will always be welcome here. Perfect hideaway in Shirley

Well-equipped and a very lovely decorated and very clean cottage. It was a warm welcome. Very polite hosts. The surrounding is spectacular and quiet. We saw a black bear - exciting - and hummingbirds and eagles. It seems to be also a perfect place to watch whales, but this time no one appeared. The best place to relax. A great hideaway in Shirley. We purchased the cottages in August 2021 because it was a case of love at first sight. The moment we stepped out of our car the view took my breath away and I remember thinking “My life is about to change.”

We had found a place, a uniquely beautiful place, to experience relaxation and renewal, a space which would encourage us to connect and reflect on what matters most. With refined comforts and expansive views a stay at the cottages prioritizes rest and retreat. Live simply. Live slow. Breathe in nature.

Ocean Song Cottages were closed at the end of the season on January 7, 2022 and re-opened on April 1, 2022. They were carefully and intentionally renovated with a strong emphasis on what matters - comfort and nature. Light pours into the cottages' large windows, bespoke interior fittings, modern appliances and furniture make for an easy stay and encourages a focus on well-being and reconnecting with nature. Outside there are 3.5 acres to explore and a secluded beach which is accessed by a private, ‘Registered Guests Only’ only staircase that meanders through an untouched rainforest. Each cottage is graced with a gas grill, 2-person hot tub and a large, shared expansive lawn which gently slopes down towards a breathtaking view of the ocean.
