Chateau Midgen - Quiet House in Kooringal - Long Term Rental

Beautifully maintained family home with relaxing garden outlook at the Southern end of Moreton Island. The house is best suited to either two couples or a couple with children. STRICTLY NO MORE THAN 7 PEOPLE IN TOTAL PERMITTED.

Strictly 7 people only. Names of all people saying at the property are required. Guest list must not change unless approved. Photo ID may be requested.

Be aware that Kooringal is an extremely quiet neighborhood. Please keep noise to a minimum and respect the neighbors and environment.

Minutes walk to Western Beach and 15-20min walk or short drive to Eastern Beach.

- 3 Bedrooms - Sleeps 7 including 2 Queen, 1 Single, 1 set Bunk Beds (see photos)
- Open Plan Lounge / Dining with Pot-Bellied Fireplace, TV & Furnishings, High Cathedral Ceilings, Polished Floors, Ceiling Fans.
- large wrap around deck to enjoy the garden
- 1 bathroom with shower and 2 toilets

Bring you own linen - pillows and doonas are provided, however sheets and towels are NOT provided. Please bring tea towels, hand towels, beach/bathroom towels and sheets.

There are no sealed roads on Moreton Island you will need a 4WD. The MiCat barge runs to the Island from Brisbane to Tangalooma.

"Chateau Midgen" is off grid. Electricity to the house is supplied by solar power and is stored in a battery system - you need to be mindful of how much electricity you are using.
Water is supplied from rain water tanks - please bring enough for the first few hours as the water filter takes several hours for enough water to follow through.

*Please note there is a $5000 bond required

What an epic place

It looks much better than the pictures suggest, the location is fantastic and it really served our outcome of being secluded and enjoying an island getaway. They thought of everything as well, we could have taken half the stuff we did. One of the best places I have enjoyed So looking forward to coming back

Perfect stay @ Chateau Midgen

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Chateau Midgen, the house was perfect for our family holiday. It was very clean and offered everything we needed to enjoy our island break. Kate was amazing throughout the entire booking process and made it very easy from start to finish. We would highly recommend this property and definitely look to stay again next time we visit Moreton Island. Thank you!

Anzac Memories at Chateau Midgen

We love the Chateau but weather was not so good. Too windy for fishing but lots of fun anyway as we had family and friends stay. Chateau is well stocked with cooking utensils and crockery. Like the design of house as you go down three stairs to bedrooms and bathroom. We love attending the Anzac commemorations on the beach as the sun rises. Last two have been at Fire station because of weather.

Chateau Splendid

The property suited us perfectly at the outskirts of Kooringal. Our family included two adult siblings so the three bedrooms suited us perfectly. The one bathroom with two separate toilets was well thought out. The veranda surrounding house was also good as could sit either side of house depending on the weather.

Perfect Family Home

Great little house which was very clean and comfortable for our family of 5. The house was well equipped, had good water, power and gas supply. Kate was super accommodating and helpful, we would defiantly recommend this house for a family holiday

Absolutely amazing property and communication from Kate the host

Photo don’t do this property justice was a lot bigger than expected when we arrived. Very spacious and great amenities. Kates communication was amazing also. Lovely location and every who lived around there were so kind especially Pete the neighbor. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and will definitely be staying there again soon.
