Escape to Sunset Hill in the heart of Texas Hill Country for a weekend of beautiful sunsets, star gazing from the relaxing hot tub , and relaxation in a tree lined getaway. Sunset Hill is just 5 minutes from Wimberley and the perfect location to explore the Hill Country and all its wonders.

The space
A 820 square foot fully remodeled home with comfortable farmhouse decor in the woods offering serenity and privacy. A private bedroom with a queen size bed, comfortable living area, separate dining area, roomy kitchen with plenty of supplies for cooking and enjoying a meal on the outdoor patio, a bright and spacious bathroom, and a 55” Smart TV.

Sunset Hill is one of two charming houses located at the Texas Retreat. This farmhouse style home is perfect for two people** and offers everything for a perfect hideaway. One private bedroom sleeps two with a queen size bed. For those who need a little more room, Sunset Rock, a stylish studio home adjacent to Sunset Hill, comfortably sleeps two additional guests.
Free Wi-Fi is provided.
A propane grill is provided with basic grilling tools and outdoor bistro table and umbrella.

Enjoy the outdoors on the patio, a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine and amazing sunsets. Upon entering the newly remodeled home, guests are greeted with charming farmhouse decor and comfortable amenities. With open areas and a high ceiling, guests will feel as if they found their own private cocoon. Sleep soundly in a private bedroom with a comfortable queen bed and lovely linens. A quaint kitchen with farmhouse accents, vintage appliances, and appealing decor offers a fun place to prepare a meal. Then relax in the dining area, read a book or play your favorite games.

Enjoy breathtaking sunsets and star gazing. Wimberley is one of only 3 certified dark sky cities in Texas. Be ready for wildlife sightings as you relax on the patio with a favorite beverage after exploring Wimberley.
Special attention has been made by the owners to ensure that Sunset Hill is environmentally friendly. The home's water is supplied by great tasting purified rainwater.

Looking for an outing, Sunset Hill is about 5 minutes from Wimberley’s Square, Blue Hole, Jacobs Well and Cypress Falls. The Square offers great little shops, chef styled cuisine and incredible swimming holes!

Take a drive to Canyon Lake and rent a boat or jet skis for a fun afternoon on the water. Check out the music calendar at Whitewater Amphitheater and rock out at a concert! Explore New Braunfels and Gruene and enjoy fabulous restaurants and live music. A day of tubing, kayaking, and rafting on the Guadalupe River is always fun. Families and children will especially love Schlitterbahn Water Park and Landa Park. Visit the over 240 shops at the San Marcos Outlet for an endless day of shopping.

Blanco has several popular attractions for outdoorsmen, historians, and foodies. Blanco State Park offers fishing, swimming, and hiking. For those interested in the historical Old West, The Buggy Barn has over 140 covered wagons. Real Ale Brewing Company offers guided tours and a taproom tasting experience.

Further down the road, spend the day exploring Fredericksburg. Travel to Wine Road 290 which offers 19 wineries, all within a few miles of each other. Visit one of Fredericksburg’s two amazing museums: the National Museum of the Pacific War and the Pioneer Museum. During the summer, make sure to stop by a fruit stand and grab some famous Fredericksburg peaches.

Cozy place for a great weekend getaway. A very short drive to Wimberley but away enough that it was peaceful. The hot tub was a great addition, loved watching the stars at night while sitting in it.The views of the sunset while eating on the porch were also a plus.Updated decor and very clean.We didn’t use anything in the loft but the bed in the main bedroom was incredibly comfortable. The couch was really the only uncomfortable thing in the rental but it wasn’t a deal breaker, we’d be back again.Only hiccup we really ran into had nothing to do with the unit. We were there for my boyfriends birthday and I was hoping to have a surprise cake there when we arrived. Coordinating with the property manager was not the easiest and the vendor was almost unable to set up because they were told to wait for the cleaners to arrive. Cleaner didn’t come until after 2 pm with a 4 pm arrival. It all worked out in the end. Again, wouldn’t keep me from renting this place or from the property manager, it just wasn’t the easiest thing to coordinate.

Great little place.

Very nice place, clean and a great layout for the size. The house is about 3 miles from Wimberley (stumbled upon by accident) great shopping area, food and bars. Would definitely recommend this place for friends and family. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Little creepy roaches were under our clothes on the floor in the bathroom.. we had put our dirty clothes in the bathroom and when we went to pick them up, there were roaches under them.

Fun, convenient and peaceful. this property is in a beautiful area close to the conience of Wimberley. My wife and I stayed for a few days after a conference in San Antonio. it was perfect for a couple of nights.

Short get away

Very clean & efficient cabin with lots of charm. Quite a bit of hwy noise but quiet inside. We came for a short get away and the house is very close to Wimberley so plenty to see & do.

Great Get Away Location

My partner and I had an amazing stay at this wonderful home in the hills. I only wish we would've arrived earlier so we could've enjoyed more time there! The house, hot tub, and outdoor area were all top notch in cleanliness, delivery as pictured, and overall experience. I will DEFINITELY be staying with this host, at or near the house I stayed in, again in the near future. Happy travels!

Nice location.

Very nice location outside of wimberly. Only downfall was ice machine didn’t work and was frozen. Also the entrance to the property was rough. The concrete had been broken and I basically had to get a running start with my truck to make it on the property to stop from spinning out on the gravel. But overall was very nice place to stay and we definitely want to come back.

Perfect Getaway

Sunset Hill was the absolute perfect getaway. The beds were comfortable, the decor was cozy and relaxing, and the outdoor space was just right. The house is only a few minutes from Wimberley square. The coffee pot uses only k-cups, so plan accordingly. We will definitely be back.

Our stay was excellent!

Everything about our stay was great! We had such an amazing time with the family! The only bad experience we had was when we arrived and couldn’t get into the property until staff came and opened the door for us. He stated something was off with the lock. Other than that, we enjoyed it and will come back again!

Very Comfortable Place to stay!

It was a very lovely place to stay near to Wimberly and all it has to offer. Communication was excellent even on a holiday. There was a well-stocked kitchen to have Thanksgiving Dinner. It does need a can opener, cutting board and strainer. Otherwise, it was perfect to have our Military Granddaughter with us for a special time. Thank you and we hope to return.

Amazing stay. Almost 5 stars!! Would book again!

We absolutely loved our stay here for a couples weekend together. It was just the two of us but this could easily work for a small family as well. We would book here again in a heartbeat!! Our stay was almost perfect! Couple of small issues we had were ants in the kitchen and then a poorly draining shower that caused the shower to fill up very quickly. Other than that perfect! Even with those small issues we absolutely loved our stay.

Weekend getaway

The property was just as described, if anything it was more beautiful than the pictures. We were there for a weekend away to enjoy Wimberley and the house was a quick 10 minute drive into town. The only downside to the property is the level of road noise. Though the house is nestled on the hill and the view is nice, the highway noise is quite loud when sitting outside.

Beautiful property! The house is charming and conveniently located to Wimberly, local attractions, and wineries. It is right off a busy road, but if you’re inside you don’t here the noise from the road. Shower was slow to drain, and the hot tub might have needed more chemicals. I also could not locate any outdoor trash bins, so I had to bring my trash home. Overall though it was great. I would stay again!

The Treehouse

This is a very cozy place. It’s modern and quiet. Finding it was tricky. We always missed it when driving. It sneaks up on you. A large sign would help. I love that there’s plenty of windows and sunlight. But I still prefer some blinds for privacy and to even sleep in. But other than that, it was amazing.

Fantastic Home

The owner of the property had renovated it prior to our arrival. Instead of walking into an advertised pink home, it was modernized to a white and black one. The interior was fantastic with a farmhouse feel. It had everything we needed plus some. It was very comfortable relaxing and peaceful. The deck was awesome with a grill and outdoor chairs. There was also deer on the property. The location was about 5 minutes from downtown Wimberley. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable. Look forward to returning.
