Great property, horrible unit
To preface this review, let me say that I love St. Augustine and the Ocean & Racquet resort as a whole. However, this specific unit was awful. My girlfriend and I decided to take a last minute weekend getaway and decided to reserve this unit. I did not get any check-in details until reaching out through VRBO the day of our reservation. When we arrived, the keyless entry lost power and we had to call the front desk to get in to this unit. The next day, we found the couch in the living room was infested with bugs. This was problematic since I was working remotely and my girlfriend and I planned to spend most of our time in the condo that day. We did not feel comfortable and were wary about taking bugs back home with us. Additionally we found a Trump flag on the back porch. In general, I believe owners should leave their political views out of their rental unit, especially when it involves such a ‘polarizing’ figure (to put it nicely). The only redeeming qualities were the friendliness and promptness of the front office staff and maintenance to remedy our issues and provide a fairly generous refund. Again, the property as a whole is very nice and has great amenities, I would just recommend booking this specific unit as we did not have a very comfortable stay in this one. I would recommend the owners maintain this unit better and provide a more comfortable place for their guests to stay.
