Lovely home in MV

Lovely home in a secluded area of MV. We had three generations and it was great for all. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the mornings and evenings. A good place to rest after a day of activity. Was very clean and all amenities in working order. The beach supplies - chairs, umbrellas - were a welcome bonus.

A lot to love!

There was a lot to love in this house. It was clean and cozy, the back patio and yard were lovely and spacious, the kitchen was well stocked, there were bonus towels (thanks!), the beds were comfortable. We also had some mini challenges, like one of the bedrooms having only outlets FAR from the A/C working, which meant no A/C. There was also a moldy smell inside of a downstairs cleaning closet; if you're not sensitive, it's no big deal and mostly just in that one spot. One of our guests IS sensitive, so this was problematic, but we made sure to keep that door closed the whole time. The Wifi was also crazy slow but worked most of the time. Luckily, we didn't want to be online most of the time, but I did have a few things to do and am noting this in case someone else has a partial working holiday! All in all, I'd book it again and was happy with the house and neighborhood.

DO NOT STAY HERE - MOLD & FILTH

We ended up leaving early (late last night 9/22/23) when I discovered mold in all the air conditioners and a colony fuzzy mold under the cabinet in the first floor bathroom/laundry room. Myself and my youngest became very ill while staying here with sinus issues, asthma attacks and sore throats. I am sure the owner of the house has no idea this is going on as the property is managed by an Asian company called Vacasa. I took MANY photos. Other issues include: 1) The house was impossible to find as Vacasa provided the wrong address. They said it was on Onondaga Street in a non-existent zip code. They then proceeded to send me down a variety of dead end dirt roads until we’re inadvertently found the house on Onondaga Road in a different zip code…in the pitch black darkness no less! 2) There were live roaches in the lighting fixtures. 3) There was a composting bin on the countertop filled with recently discarded food, which attracted ants. 4) While the kitchen was outfitted with all the necessary accoutrements to cook all our meals, the dishes in the cabinets were dirty and it looked like roach droppings on the silverware. All-in-all, it was just gross. We stayed five of our six nights because the Vineyard is amazing, but hastily gathered up my family and lifer last night because I discovered, while trying to find the root cause of the illness were were experiencing in the house, large deposits of black, grey and even orange mold throughout the house. Totally disgusting.

I think “Island Sanctuary” might be an overstatement, but it was passable. Clean enough.

I feel like it was a lot to ask for the bare minimum, but it was fine. Clean enough. Certainly out-dated and the window air conditioning units were really load and old.

Property condition and Ammenities

Overall, this is a nice place to stay while in MV. Like a lot of "Managed" properties however this one suffers from wear. Screen door material ripped, floors need to be refinished, furniture had needed some repair, vertical blinds kept falling off, microwave handle broken etc, however the biggest condition item was easier to fix: Clean this house better. Stove vents loaded with grease as well as cabinets. Remove Stove and Refrigerator and clean the accumulated dirt and food. Overall, we would return expecially if the house were cleaned. Suited us perfectly.

Solid stay for a weekend

Ample space in the house for all of us. Furniture was great, deck was great. I definitely wish there was more dish ware in the house, I found it difficult to cook at times. And the bathroom upstairs could use an update. But otherwise, great stay, and full a/c was AMAZING.

Loved this house

We came to visit for my cousins wedding weekend. With 6 people in our party it was a perfect fit. The house was spotless, and spacious. We really enjoyed having this space to enjoy during our time together, would definitely come back! The only reason I didn't give five stars was the bed was not very comfortable, other than that great experience!

Clean, good location.

Had just about everything we needed. Quiet at night. 10 minute drive from oak bluffs and vineyard haven downtown areas. Definitely need a car. Main bathroom is old and dingy but was clean. No complaints- would return!

A quiet comfortable place!

The house is wonderful! The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is lack of parking. The description of the property states parking for two cars. I have a full size truck and it barely fit buy its self. There is also a small tree growing into the side of the driveway. Watch your mirrors.

Beautiful home for a great price

We loved our stay at Island Sanctuary. The reason we gave it a 4 out of 5 was due to ants in the kitchen. The rest of the house was quaint and perfect for our little family + pet get away. A/C, a nice back patio + outside shower, grill, a kitchen area, and TVs in most of the rooms. Plus it’s close to town/state beach/ ferry. We recommend having a vehicle to access this property but overall it was a great property for the price!

Great property

The property is very nice and as described in the listing. Comfortably sleeps 7. Very clean. It is a little outside of town but there were plenty of Uber/Lyfts to get us around. Used them to get around the whole island. ACs worked great. Loved the outdoor shower. Thanks!

3 Bedrooms. 1.5 bath. Great outdoor shower. Nice back deck. Good location. House is dark inside. Needs better lighting. TV are too old. Limited channels. Downstairs & Up stairs. Clean. Few dollars on lights & up date TVs. Make this a much better location.
