River Breeze Chelet

Relax and unwind at the secluded River Breeze Chalet while being serenaded by the nearby Sandy River. Enjoy the cozy and comfy furnishings in the great room with the woodstove while watching your favorite TV shows, movies and sporting events on the big screen TV or prepare a delicious meal in the modern and fully-equipped kitchen. Dine at the cozy kitchen nook table or walk out to the deck with the gas grill and dine al fresco.

Your dogs are welcome to join you here and they will love taking walks on the mile and a half gated, dead-end road. You will be close to dozens of miles of hiking and biking trails just minutes from the front door. The kids will have lots of fun exploring the forest tree fort in the backyard. End your day relaxing in the private hot tub with a roof to keep the rain and snow off your head.

River Breeze Chalet is perfect for one or two couples or a small family. There are two upstairs bedrooms, each with a queen bed and full bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower between them. There is a half bathroom and laundry room downstairs.

This is a dog friendly property, maximum of two pup(s) allowed. Please keep your pup off the furniture (including the couches, chairs, and beds) and pick-up after your pup.

All cleaning policies meet or exceed CDC standards and recommendations. Our team wears new masks, gloves and shoes covers each time they enter home to prepare it for a new stay. We clean and disinfect all hard surfaces and high-touch items such as appliance handles, light switches, door knobs, remote controls, etc. We also clean and disinfect all dishes/glassware, silverware, bedding, towels and other linens as well as tubs and toilets. Meredith Lodging has added the extra measure of a pre-check-in inspection to make sure all of our cleaning and disinfecting procedures are complete and to our standard before you arrive.

Once it passes inspection, your home sits empty until you arrive for your contact-free check-in. Additionally, if your home features a private hot tub, rest assured it is disinfected, treated and cleaned thoroughly after each departure so that you and your guests can enjoy it with peace of mind during your stay.

Excellent location in a gated cabin community. The inside has some nice upgrades. Could definitely be a bit cleaner but it is a cabin in the woods. Biggest disappointment was the hot tub. It was in a great spot totally secluded. The tub was not secured when we checked in and was dirty and very, very low on water level. It's disappointing when you rent a place with a hot tub and pay the price for a hot tub property and it doesn't deliver. Nice deck though and quiet road.

We arrived after our check-in time and there was a car parked in the driveway and the lights were on. Inside there were 2 people with a full sushi meal spread out in the living room. This is after our check-in time. They said they were the cleaners and started to pack up their stuff. After 10 minutes of idling in the road, they left and we were able to park and begin unloading.After unloading half our stuff into the house we noticed how cold it was inside and that the lips of our youngest child (11 months old) were turning blue. The thermostat read 55 degrees and it was 4:30pm. The heaters downstairs were not working and this was obviously a known issue because there was a small and insufficient space heater in the corner of the living room. We called and could not get help and after determining that the heat was not functioning, the space heater was obviously inadequate, and that it was only going to get colder, we packed up our things and drove all the way home, skipping our week-long vacation. The more infuriating part of this whole experience wasn't the broken down cabin that was falsely advertised-- it has been the complete lack of customer support afterwards: - No call back from the help line when we were at the actual cabin. - No response to several emails over the last 2 weeks. We have rented countless houses. This particular property is complete joke. I would hesitate renting anything from Meredith Properties ever again.

We’re very sorry your arrival and stay fell so far short of expectations, and for the stress this caused your family — especially with an infant present. What you described is unacceptable. After reviewing the reservation we confirmed the cleaning crew was scheduled incorrectly and should not have been on site at check‑in; you encountered them during their lunch, which they do sometimes take on site during a clean, but the clean should have been completed by then and the team more attentive to a possible scheduling error. Our maintenance team inspected the heating system and it was working properly at the time of your arrival. We sent maintenance out to assist you with it within 2 hours of check in, but you had already departed. We also audited our call and email response logs, identified the missed callbacks, and re-asserted our escalation process to ensure rapid follow‑up on safety or heating issues. We processed a major refund for your reservation, since we are sincerely sorry you did not get to enjoy your vacation. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention so we could make immediate fixes.

We were please with the location. it was comfortable. Even though it didnt have ac which we shoulve know prior to checking in. However, at night it was pleasant. The sheets on the bed had dog hair and smelled. The floors had not been vacuumed in a while as evident by the dog hair. The back porch was very nice. But it needs more chairs. The house is in need of extensive maintenance.

It is VERY relaxing location

We loved this place, it's well off the main road, very quiet and private. Clean and well thought out. It was a very much needed break from 'life'.

Beautiful Place

Was a beautiful location, very close to hiking trails and food. Would definitely stay there again if we find ourselves in that area again. Going on a long hike and coming back to the hot tub was the perfect ending to the day. MT Hood is beautiful. Very quiet area.

The property was beautiful and the cabin was nice. There were just a few things about the property that were an issue. First, there were cobwebs in one of the bedrooms that went all the way behind the bed frame. I get that a cabin can be rustic, but it seems like no one has dusted in that room. This was also in the room with the more comfortable bed, as the other one was terrible. The room with the terrible bed had a TON (at least 3) creepy baby sketches too, which gave the room a weird vibe. I have no idea why they decided to decorate a room in a cabin like that. My only other complaint was about the lack of outdoor lighting, particularly by the hot tub. It made it hard to want to go out there in the evening. It also would've been nice for there to be more chairs/outdoor furniture to sit on, rather than just the one wood chair that was covered in cobwebs.

Great location but house needs some TLC

Location is great and very quiet. Arrival instructions are accurate and easy. However, this property needs some TLC and we found a handful of things not quite functioning as expected. Bring wood for the fire burning stove - necessary if there are cold temperatures.

The house was wonderful, hot tub was great, the weather wasn't that great

If it wasn't for my husband coming down with a cold and the wet weather this would've been the perfect weekend away for all of us. House is beautiful and offers a luxurious but cozy accommodations.

Very nice stay

We went out for a quick weekend trip. They house and property were as described. We were disappointed that we were unable to access the river from the property. You can hear the river but cannot see it except very vaguely through the trees towards the back corner of the property. We had a nice relaxing time overall.

Cozy Getaway

Tucked back off the road enough to allow for quite. The sound of the river while soaking in the private hot tub was divine. The wood burning stove was soothing and super warm. Beds were firm and we slept hard. Kitchen had all we needed and then some. Only off putting thing was lots and lots of spider webs. In the rafters, lamps, corners in all rooms.

Beautiful, quiet, luxurious, elegant

We celebrated our 15th anniversary at your lovely home. Thank you so much! Everything was perfect!!!! The hot tub, kitchen, bedrooms, fireplace. All were wonderful. Wish you would have had a DVD player though as we wanted to watch our wedding movie while we were there. Thanks!

Delicious getaway. Relaxing and SO comfortable!!!

We enjoyed our stay in a well known area near the mountain for us. This property in particular was very special. Not only is it remote and in nature but it is a short drive to some of our favorite spots to play and eat in the Government Camp, Rhododendron, Welches, Zig Zag etc areas. The home was professionally clean and prepared for guests and guests with dogs. We appreciated the provided doggie bags, extra leash, and sheet to use for the pup. Made us feel welcome and definitely ensures guests will be respectful when bringing their fur baby. My fav perk was the covered hot tub. It was one of the nicest hot tubs we have used in a rental. It is well taken care of and clean. The surrounding area provides a nice nature walk. The home is located down a gated road so it is very private and safe. We appreciated the stocked kitchen and super comfortable beds! For folks who like games or bring the kids, there were more than enough board games and video games available to use as well. It is also nice to have the option to build a fire in wood stove but definitely plan to bring some dry wood if that is something you'd like to do during your stay. Otherwise this cabin is very well heated with electric heat. Would absolutely love to stay here again!

Lovely local cabin stay!

We stayed with another couple for our annual cabin trip, where we pick local cabins in the region to stay for a mini getaway. The house was fantastic, cozy and charming. We were able to fit the four of us perfectly and welcomed our dogs so easily. I think the downfall was the stairs, which were a little scary! But literally everything else was wonderful and allowed us to have a relaxing stay. Thank you so much!

I booked this property for my partner and a couple friends. The house is beautiful and extremely private, tucked into the forest; which was perfect for us as it was much needed to unplug and disconnect from a busy work life. Check in was easy but the service is not great in the area so make sure to have all your check in info beforehand so you don’t have to drive back to the main road. Lots of trails nearby and the Sandy River is a short walk. The beds were comfortable. Jacuzzi is located amongst the trees and was very nice. Definitely recommend staying here.

Great location

House is exactly as described. Can’t see the River from it. Location and privacy are great just a few people on walks down the road. Went for four nights. Check in was a bit slow as the door code wouldn’t work but management was very helpful. House was a bit on the dirty side. A lot of dead flies spiders and some food crumbs on counter. Beds are comfy and hot tub is very relaxing with sounds of the River. In the end our trip was cut two days short. On the first night my wife couldn’t sleep and went downstairs to read. She slipped on the hard wood stairs and fell fracturing her foot. It’s really needs a carpet runner down them. I slipped a few times myself but she ended up with the worst of it. It’sa great place but make sure you have a hold of handrails.

Renter Beware!

Our stay was highly disappointing and quite unsanitary. I don't know that I have ever stayed in a property that filthy before. Dirty dishes in oven and drawers, like literally baking dishes with crusted food left in the dirty oven, grease smeared all over the stove, disgusting couch covered in stains and animal hair, BLOOD stains on the bedding (more than a couple, I might add) more dust, filth and dog hair than one should ever experience... ever... Cobb webs on EVERYTHING, dirty BBQ with food residue inside, beverage spills all over end tables, walls were super scuffed and dirty and the list does go on. It felt dirty to sleep in the bed and sit on the furniture. The air and filth was so thick, that I kid you not, it tanked my immune system and I got a cold as my body tried to expel the yuck. When I called on the Friday of our arrival, 36 min after our arrival to address our initial concerns, we were treated horribly. It basically ruined any chance of having a "great" weekend because the customer service from Mt Hood Rentals was soo awful. I called again Monday to speak to someone else and once I sent the 30+ pictures, I was told how horrified they were, how immediately they were addressing issues. I was given a $200 total credit back. I asked for half our stay refunded since, granted, we did decide to stay, but that was not given. I paid over $800 for less than 48 hours of being there. A 50% refund would have been the LEAST they could have offered given the overall circumstances. I am summarizing here, there was quite a story around check in and our conversations with Mt Hood Rentals that goes along with this that could be taken into consideration. Overall it was rough. I would highly suggest the owners take a look at how their property is being managed and I would caution renters to know what they are walking into. Its not worth the rate they have listed. The water is extremely hard. Smells like pure rotten eggs, so make sure you bring your own bottled water and ice. The pluses- there are TWO! The hot tub was perfect. Clean, smelled good, and heated to perfection. We lived outside in that for the weekend. And, the wood stove. It worked very well and helped heat the house to reduce the stench of animals, mildew and dirt. There are zero extra blankets so bring your own. There are also zero rugs or carpets so if you have older pets who have a hard time walking on slick surfaces, bring runners or floor mats for them. Renters beware.

We did send someone back to clean after your arrival and you were refunded 30% of the total of $735 that was paid to us (we do not know what your Vrbo service fee was). Wonderful and peaceful!

This is a great property in a great location. The house is warm and inviting with an easy check-in/check out process. The hot tub was amazing—really comfortable and clean. Oh, and the beds! Each night I was cradled into sleep with no tossing and turning or pressure points. I think they might be memory foam. Super comfy beds. The property is along the Sandy River and it was just a short walk down to the river. I’d highly recommend this house. We went there before the snow but I imagine with snow it is even more beautiful.
