Immerse yourself in nature at `Sugar Shack`, a 1-bedroom, 1-bath cabin designed for nature lovers looking to experience peacefulness and serenity in the Red River Gorge and Cave Run Lake areas of KY. Enjoy the hiking, rock climbing, and fishing opportunities nearby! Featuring large porches, beautiful wooden walkways, peaceful balconies with beautiful views to ensure ultimate relaxation and fun, this home is a splendid retreat for friends and family!

- Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen (standard coffee maker, microwave), wood burning stove (located outside near the firepit), mini charcoal grill, WiFi, firepit and more!
- Sleeping Arrangements: Loft: 2 Queen Beds Additional Sleeping: Queen Air Mattress
​​​​​​​- One full bathroom
- We provide fresh linens and towels. We also include essential starter packs to make your stay easier! (Starter packs include: 2 rolls of toilet paper, 2 rolls of paper towels, 3 shampoos and conditioners, 3 bar soaps, 3 trash bags, and 1 sponge.) You will also need to bring your own firewood and charcoal. Please purchase firewood locally.
- Please note that a 4-wheel drive is recommended. This property does offer a circle driveway for boats/trailers.
- There is camera surveillance on this property. One camera is on the front porch, and one camera is on the back porch facing the back door.
- Secluded location between Red River Gorge and Cave Run Lake - Close to a multitude of adventuring opportunities!
- Please contact us as soon as possible if you must cancel or reschedule your stay. No refunds or date modifications within 14 days or less of your arrival.
- No refunds are permitted due to weather. No exceptions. Winter weather (snow/ice) and flooding can occur in our area. You should be given the option to add Trip Insurance at booking check-out.
- Please be aware that no refunds are permitted for cancellations on holiday rates, which includes but is not limited to, New Year’s, Valentine`s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

The cabin had what we needed. Unfortunately we had a few run ins with some mice during our stay, they were in the ceiling above us and we woke up both mornings with mouse droppings in the bed with us. The property manager said they were going to have cleaning look into this which is good but it didn’t help us for our stay. Also the staircase going to the loft is very dangerous, the tread depth on some of those steps were so small we had to go down the steps backwards. A child gate at the top of those steps would probably be a good idea as well for anyone with kids. The front door doesn’t open up all the way either as the floor is uneven so getting in while carrying bags is difficult. The back door doesn’t have any curtains or blinds and according to the description there is a camera pointing at the back door so that’s kinda uneasy because if so, someone could look into house while you, your wife, your kids are staying there. Also, since there’s no curtain/blinds on the back door the light pours into the cabin in the morning so sleeping in would be difficult. With all this said, thank you for letting us stay in your place, I give this feedback only to help so you can make improvements.

Thank you for your detailed and honest feedback. We’re glad the cabin had what you needed, but we’re very sorry for the issues you experienced during your stay. Finding mouse droppings in the bed and dealing with that kind of disturbance is absolutely not acceptable, and we understand how upsetting and uncomfortable that must have been. We also appreciate you taking the time to point out the concerns with the loft staircase, the front door, and the lack of window covering on the back door. That kind of specific feedback is very helpful, and we understand why those things impacted your comfort and sense of ease during the stay. Thank you again for sharing this with us. We truly do appreciate feedback meant to help improve, and we take concerns like these seriously.

Great vacay with my best friend.

This was a great cabin with comfy beds, plenty of supplies-everything we needed to have a lovely time together. We spent most of the daytime hours exploring Natural Bridge and The Gorge, it was pretty perfect.

Wonderful trip

Great cozy getaway!

Really cool cozy place with great comfortable beds. Downstairs living room/kitchen area is well thought out with great burly couches and cool decor. They have a record player with a groovy selection of old Motown/ Bossanova vinyl on hand too! Just fantastic!

Anniversary Trip

Quaint and peaceful! We enjoyed our stay. Stairs to the bed room are steep but we are also are not in our 20's anymore. LOL. Also enjoyed being relatively close to the lake. We would make a return trip!

Great weekend escape from the city

Easy rental process and accessibility to red river gorge. Was not able to take advantage of the cool wood stove outside due to weather. Enjoyed our stay and would rent this cabin again.

Nice quiet place.

We only were here for a short time, mainly for a place to sleep and shower. Beds unfortunately are rock hard (which might be good for someone else), I slept on the downstairs couch the second night. Outside of that, cabin was nice.

Wonderful family getaway

This was the best stocked rental we have ever stayed in! We booked this cabin last minute for fall break! The cabin was adorable and had everything you could possibly need and more! We wanted to hike at Red River Gorge so we did that during the day and came back for dinner and outside fires after! It was quiet and peaceful and just what we needed!
