Secret Garden House Rotorua

Secret Garden House is a fully equipped, comfortable and quality home, filled with charm and personality. With 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a private hot tub!

Located in Lynmore - a safe and pleasant suburb- and only 400m from the Redwood forest. Ideal for mountain biking adventures and forest walks.

There's garage access, safe bike storage and charging stations. Secret Garden House is also close to many cafe's, bars and takeaways.

Local lakes and rivers are easily accessed from here.

Secret Garden House is a truly beautiful home, full of 1950's character and charm.

There are three cosy bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to 6 people. The master bedroom comes complete with ensuite bathroom.

The kitchen is an entertainers dream with quality appliances and doors opening out onto a sun filled deck, perfect for alfresco dining. There's a BBQ, comfortable outdoor furniture, and to top it off - a 6 seater private hot tub!

Secret Garden House has a large, comfortable lounge as well as a separate dining room. Heating is no issue in winter with a cosy log fire in the living room, a heat pump in the dining room and portable heaters for the bedrooms.

Beds are made using professionally laundered, quality cotton and linens.
Every care has been taken to create the perfect holiday space for you to relax, with lots of kiwi art and personal touches.

Guests have the entire house to themselves

Loacted in Lynmore - one of the loveliest suburbs in Rotorua. It's safe, friendly and quiet. Lynmore is full of older homes with well established gardens.

The best thing about Lynmore is its proximity to the fabulous Redwoods, or Whakarewarewa Forest. It's also very handy to the lakes and airport.

Secret Garden House is on a bus route, however public transport is limited. Ideally you will have a car to get around, if not Rotorua does have both taxi and Uber services. There is off-street parking for at least two vehicles.

We have a strict no party policy here. Quiet hours are from 10pm-7am.

We had a wonderful stay! The house is so comfortable and had everything we could want. The garden makes it feel very private. I loved how close we were to the Redwood Forest trails. Highly recommend!

This is by far one of my all time favorite VRBO accommodations! Such a beautiful home with everything you need to feel right at home. The location is perfect to access all of the surrounding activities and to the downtown area. Kristin was a wonderful host. I’d highly recommend a stay here!

Charming and cozy retreat in the suburbs

Perfect getaway location with easy access to all that Rotorua has to offer. Wake to the sound of birds chirping in the morning / evening. Best if one has personal vehicle to get to activities but Uber is also an option. Wonderful hosts. Met my every expectation and that of my adult family.

Home away from home

Great place for a break, has everything you need ++. It was cosy but large enough for us to spread out and the outdoor area was perfect for socialising at the end of a busy day. Easy access to the Redwoods for walks and biking. Safe and secure storage for bikes. We will be back! Thanks

A great stay - thank you

We had such a lovely stay! It was the perfect spot for our family of 5. The home was lovely and quiet (great for our day napper 2 yr old) and the location was fantastic for quick trips to the red woods and the kids loved the spa pool. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, so we couldn't use the lovely backyard outdoor area to its full advantage. Kristin was amazing to deal with, she was always quick to get back to me with any questions I had and is super, super friendly. A big Thanks!

Amazing spot

We loved this spot. Very private and magical hot tub deck. Great comfortable set up inside as well. We looked at a lot of options to stay but this one really stood out and it totally delivered.

Great home, loved the layout, wonderful amenities, proximity to activities and shops was great. Quiet neighborhood, wonderful for relaxing. Kitchen was great for making meals and enjoying food with family.

Rotorua Redwoods

Lovely property with all the amenities needed for a wonderful stay. Great layout that works well. Bedrooms were perfect and the bedding was very nice. All very clean! Location is great for entry into the Redwoods and the attractions/town are just minutes away by car. Definitely our preferred place to stay in Rotorua.

A perfect home away from home

Let me just get this out of the way: I can't say a single bad thing about this house. It's in a fantastically convenient location, it's beautiful, cozy, and safe. The showers are hot and strong, the washer and dryer work great, there are plenty of wall outlets and plenty of storage. If I were in the market for a house to buy, I would stop looking after finding this one. When we arrived in Rotorua, there were still a couple of hours before our arrival time. Our host provided ample and clear communication and even had the house ready for us early, which was much appreciated after a wildly jetlagged walk through the redwood forest just a brief walk away from the home. The week that followed was very much like being at home in New Zealand. Which, considering we'd arrived from Florida, was welcome. Everything about the house was exactly what we needed (two adults and a 9-year-old). Waking up in the morning with the birds chattering away outside, plenty of space to make whatever meals we wished, and easy access to everything Rotorua offers when we wanted to get out. Given we stayed in winter, it's probably worth saying that the home was solid and kept a perfectly pleasant temperature day and night. The art in the home was utterly delightful. If you're at all like we are, if you like to settle in and pretend you're living somewhere (for an all too brief time) and not just visiting, this place is definitely worth a look. We will absolutely stay here again whenever we return.

Wonderful Property

Our stay at the Secret Garden was wonderful. The home was amazing and so much thought was put into it for the comfort of the guests. The kitchen was fully equipped to meet our needs and the home was tastefully decorated. The bedrooms were comfortable and the linens were professionally cleaned and pressed. The host was very communicative and immediately responded to our questions. If we are ever in Rotorua again, we would definitely stay there.

Nice home in a great location

The house is clean and modern with great living spaces inside and out, including a spa on the back deck. It's an ideal base to explore the Redwoods, with the forest just a few minutes walk/cycle away.
